  • HP Pavilion 550-055na: new disk will not install the new operating system

    Hello

I bought a new HP Pavilion 550 - 055na with Windows 8 a month or two ago but want to use Windows 7. However, I decided that I will keep the hard, the PC came with, and have the option of Windows 8 in future if I want. So, I'm installing Windows 7 on a new hard drive.

My problem is that the new copy of Windows 7 will not install on my new hard drive.  I get:

    Violation of secure boot

Invalid signature detected. See the policy in the configuration of secure boot

Then me to a black screen after I pressed Enter/Ok, who said the following.

Check the presence of the media...

    Media present...

    On IPv4 PXE boot.

If I press F12 on power on, I get a blue box asking me to select a boot device. The only options are:

Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller IPv4

Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller IPv6

and the output by using the arrow keys

How to change the secure boot strategy?  If I do, it means that I can install my 7 can I on my new hard drive? Also, providing that I do, I always will be able to use my Windows 8 OS drive after changing the secure boot strategy?

Any help would be appreciated to greately.

    Sincere greetings

You have to enable the legacy mode and disable start-up secured in the BIOS to be able to install and run W7.

  • What is the HP Digital Imaging Monitor? Apply to my operating system, Windows 7?

What is the HP Digital Imaging Monitor? Apply to my operating system, Windows 7? I want to remove the icon from the task bar (toolbar in the lower right corner of the screen) that I never use it.

Picardjc wrote that "Digital imaging monitor is part of the HP software that communicates with your HP printer. This program allows to read the inklevels, get an out of paper message, scan from the device to the computer and so on. It is not necessary, but it will restrict the use of printers if you delete. "Understood. But for my printer HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809a, what is the purpose of having the digital imaging monitor icon in the taskbar Windows7 sp1 of the Notification area (aka system tray)? My A809a is NOT an all-in-one that includes a scanner; It is simply a very good printer. When I start to print something, if you need ink or paper, that information is displayed on the screen of my computer. So I ask again: why is the icon of monitor digital imaging on the taskbar? I clicked on at the time of this icon (I not print anything, but as usual, the printer is turned on), and nothing happened. R.N. (Roger) Folsom _ P.S. below I'll post some other discussions (with links to their locations) of the digital imaging monitor, I discovered before finding this site on which I am writing. There are a variety of opinions on what makes the digital imaging monitor. HP Digital Imaging Monitor is for HP director system tray access. This is necessary if you want to use the buttons of all-in-one on a HP printer all in one to scan documents or transfer photos from a camera manually. Closing the icon monitor HP digital imaging in the Windows system tray can cause the HP all-in-one to lose part of its scanning features and not the connection error message. In this case, you can restore all functionality by restarting the computer or by starting the HP digital imaging monitor. [Edited] 03/08/2011 14:05 - edited? 03/08/2011 14:08 Yes, it is safe to remove. In my view, it is usually in the program group under start / all programs / startup. Simply navigate under the Start button, right-click on it and delete! If it is not there, then remove it from the registry: run regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and delete it from the list in the right pane. If she is not there, then try hkey_current_user\\software\\microsoft\\windows\\currentversion\\run it's better than using msconfig and uncheck it. In my opinion, msconfig must always be set to Normal startup. Your printer will always print without that annoying obstructive utility called Digital Imaging Monitor. Ciao! • the necessary operating system for Pavilion dv6646us disk

Hi, have a Pavilion dv6646us laptop entertainment and made a total deletion.  My bad, as in oops.  Now I need a disk to the operating system.  System has Vista Home Premium and I guess only 32-bit.  Someone at - it a disc or can I download on a USB?

You will need to either buy a drive recovery HP or an HP partner as described here.

An alternative is to do a clean reinstall using the activation key of Microsoft Windows (twenty five characters) that should be on the bottom of your laptop and a Windows Vista usb Installer. You will need to create the installation program as described in many videos on youtube.

  • iTunes does not recognize my iPhone on my HP Pavilion Windows 10 5s, so cannot sync the phone, which has the latest operating system running

iTunes does not recognize my iPhone on my HP Pavilion Windows 10 5s, so cannot sync the phone running. I downloaded the latest OS for the phone and the latest version of iTunes on my PC and have tried all USB ports several times. I also reinstalled drivers USB to the PC.  The phone is recognized on the computer of a friend under Win 7. All shows when I plug it on mine is a page showing the 'Apple iPhone' folder display of storage internal (2.18 GB free of 14.7 GB). Troubleshooting in devices and printers, where the phone displays as "Not specified Apple iPhone" generates a message saying that "Apple iPhone is an older USB device and may not work with USB 3.0 and plug it into a USB 2.0 port." But when I use USB 2.0 (I tried several times using each of the three USB ports on my PC), troubleshooting the error message says "Apple iPhone won't work correctly with USB 3.0." This seems to be a recent problem, since in March 2016, I could spend a few songs from my PC to my phone using iTunes.

I wish I had some ideas of people who have experienced this problem, I find to be a more frustrating one.

Well, you aren't the only one. This just freakin happened to me. I spent the last three hours with apple and Windows supports. Now I'm reinstalling Windows 10 by last resort of Windows support councils. I got the same message USB. In iTunes, under devices something removed my 5s and the iPad. But it remains 6 s wife. I tried my computers 2-(SS) 3.0 ports and 1 port 2.0 ordinary. I tried all four thinners cables I have. I will let you know the result of the Windows reinstall.

  • Pavilion 5000 series: locked out of operating system

Desktop HP wil not boot Windows. I get a message stating that the drive on which Windows is installed is locked. This problem occurred shortly after downloading the OS of Windows 10. I discuss this issue in detail with a Microsoft representative and after exhusting many troubleshooting options concluded that I had to restore my computer to its factory settings. I can't access the image at all, and the image of the software on the Microsoft Web site is no longer usable by the machines purchased in a retail store. I bought my computer directly from HP via Amazon. This has happened a few months ago. I have been using a Linux OS as a temporary for solution. However, I run into problems of compatibility found and would like to have the Win7 (or Win10) operating system dos.

Should I order a kit recovery or is their way I can download a Win7 of images on line? I have my 25 digit key.

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post you need to restore your PC to its original state and wanted to help.

What will work restores your computer to its original factory state using HP recovery media. It is a set of DVD and a CD or a USB key, which will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update".  If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entty and click on order to press for more details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: once you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to someone ' one - it can take a while!

Note that if HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you can check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

    Good luck
