HP Pavilion black screen dv9890ed with windows 7 and 8

Hi, where can I find driver software for my dv9890ed HP Pavillion work with windows 7 and 8 - thanks in advance. I don't have the original driver that ships with windows xp.

[email protected]

Hello

You can download the drivers for windows vista from the link below and even works perfectly for windows 7.

http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&LC=en&DLC=en&product=3717528

for windows 8, I don't think that you need all the drivers for this PC - once that windows 8 is intalled it works perfectly and pick up all the drivers microsoft driver database.

Good luck!!!

a friend of mine gave me his Lenovo T400 to install Windows XP on it

He previously worked fine with windows 7 and 8.1

then it starts in preinstallation of windows XP screen, it formats the hard drive and as usual instalation automatically restarts after this BUT his black screen, lights and sounds show that it works and goes to the next screen BUT the screen is still black. Put power off then turn on again does not display any image of the screen. Open he removed the battery of the Bios, turned upward after a few pennies and turned off it starts it reset the bios.

So now it has photo and it goes on the next screen Windows instalation as usual, after the installation of devices and other things, it restarts automatically as usual BUT there is NO new screen, black screen, lights and sounds new show that its loading windows end instalation screen, but no image on the screen.

Reset the BIOS again, it starts normally, and this time shows BSoD with code 0x7B, after once again the BSOD screen black

Maybe it's a setting in the BIOS? tried to install with the AHCI drivers and tried to install without driver for Compatible, what else is there? Updated the bios to the latest version, same result.

To say again - it works very well with other windows, but XP should be installed

There is a manual for installing XP on these laptops, I have not read, sorry

so the black screen is because of the switchable graphics option in the Bios that is not supported by XP

It works fine now after a whole an integrated and disabled for OS detection framework

    anesvet,
I'm going to sound like I'm repeating myself tonight... (see previous 4 posts...)  but try this:

When you start start pressing F8 until you get the Windows startup options.  Then try "Last known good configuration" see if that helps.  If this does not work, try to F * then try to go to Safe Mode.  If those who do not help, I would start with your XP CD to recovery mode and run "chkdsk/r" then "sfc/scannow".  QQ learn manage!

  • Black screen after the windows login

Hi, I have a HP Pavilion DV7 notebook with Windows 7 Home Premium installed on it. A problem I've noticed is that, once I connect to windows during a boot, the screen is black for about 1-2 minutes. After awhile, explorer.exe would with desktop, taskbar and icons. I am concerned about this 1 to 2 minutes of black screen after the boot as it did not exist previously. I know I have options such as restoring the computer laptop back to the default state, or by using the system restore. However, I don't want to lose all my stuff, and with respect to the restoration of the system, I'm not sure when the problem happening, as it was some time ago. I have read a Microsoft article, (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/why-is-my-screen-black-when-i-start-windows-7) and tried all the steps with the graphics card and the regestry, but nothing seems to work.

-Task Manager is able to open when the screen is black (shows explorer.exe running)

-J' have the drivers on the HP support site

-laptop is HP Pavilion DV7 3024ca

You will need to login using the method of trial and error. Please uncheck all of the MSCONFIG Startup tab and restart the system. If the black screen issue is resolved, then check out an application every time and restart the system. This will help you to identify the program interfere.

    Help.

I just got a refurbished Compaq 7700. It has Windows XP for drives of the refurbished computers.

I try to boot from the hard drive (HD) and infinite loops, it is never past the initial home screen (black with blue status bar).

I can't open the safe or the HD mode, it freezes at kmxstart.sys and then restarts again.

You say you have "defective" material and you want a software solution?

Any material support - including the drivers and other software that may be necessary to enable a hardware component to operate fully in a given operating system - is the manufacturer of the equipment.  So if you have a problem with your nVidia GT220 video card - your first stop should be nVidia.

-In addition, you are in the hands of nVidia.

  • Recently bought studio 15 laptop with windows 7 and I try to run need for speed pc underground game on her, but she does not appear and the message "speed.exe has stopped working" appears on the screen

Recently bought studio 15 laptop with windows 7 and I try to run need for speed pc underground game on her, but she does not appear and the message "speed.exe has stopped working" appears on the screen. can someone help us?

    Hi Andy,.

I checked the reported compatibility list, and the game is listed as compatible.  Work in 64-bit or 32-bit Windows 7?  I will try to reinstall the game, if you did an upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 recently.  If it is a new installation and does not, please visit the EA's Web site to get the latest patch for the game to see if that helps address your problem.  Let me know if you've done all that and you still have questions, and we can try something else.

  • I tried with windows update and manually to download vista service pack 2, but these two don't

I tried with windows update and manually download vistal SP2 but fails both: the process takes time and when download reaches 100% there is a message that says that the file is corrupted in the disk, I tried to check readers for bad mistakes, too, but the same problem persists.

It may be a corrupted catalog file.  However, it can also be a corrupted system file.  In the latter case, the System File Checker may be able to fix it.  Click Start, type "cmd" in the search/Run box and right-click on the CMD icon at the top of the results pane.  Select run as administrator.  When the cmd window type "sfc/scannow" at the prompt and press ENTER.  When the scan is finished, close the cmd window.  Alternatively, you can try to install clean or safe mode boot mode.  See

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/331796

The procedure should work the same for Windows 7 and Vista.

Enter the Mode safe mode by starting the cold computer and pressing the key function F8 repeatedly as soon as the manufacturer splash screen appears.

  • Microphone works only with Windows 7 and StarCraft 2

I have Windows 7 64 bit is installed on a computer HP Pavilion Elite (HP-M9600T), and I'm having problems to make my microphone to work with Windows 7 and Starcraft 2 (SC2).  The strange part is that I have an old analog microphone that works, but it's quality is very bad.  I bought 3 or 4 new microphones (some analog other USB) and none of them have worked.  I tried standalone and headset microphones.

Whenever I tried a new micro, I went in the 'Sound' Panel and check that the microphone is not muted.  I check that the microphone level is high (and if mic boost is available I assure me that it is also at the top).  Then I test the microphone via the 'Listen to this device' feature in the properties of Microphone Panel and can hear my voice through my speakers when I talk.  I also see the green bar on the acoustic Panel fluctuate everytime I speak.  However, no one can hear me when I play StarCraft 2 unless I unplug the new microphone and plug the old microphone.  StartCraft 2 settings are configured to use the default device and StarCraft 2 also has a test feature of "Listen to this device" and I can hear my voice through the speakers.  Just like in the sound Panel, when I speak I can see the Soundbar of StarCraft 2 fluctuate in recognition of my voice.  However, only the old work of mic.  If my old microphone had a mute and better quality, I would ignore the problem.  However, this is not so I would get a new mic work.

All the drivers seem to be up-to-date and indicate that they are working correctly.  I uninstalled and reinstalled StarCraft 2.  I also reinstalled Windows 7.  I used two generic drivers and installed the drivers RealTek supplied with my machine.  The two sets of drivers give me the same result.  I thought they might be in conflict, so I uninstalled the RealTek drivers, but I got the same result.  Teh generic drivers recognize my mic fine, but no one can hear me.  Any ideas?

    Hi tlonni,

You can try the following steps and check if it helps to solve the problem.

    a. Click Start, click Control Panel and then double-click sounds.

    b. in the sound dialog box, click the recording tab, click on the microphone and then click Properties.

    c. click on the Advanced tab, click to clear applications to allow him to take exclusive control of this peripheral checkbox and then click OK.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • I reformatted my computer with Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9 that my MSN games are not installed.

I reformatted my computer with windows 7 and internet explorer 9 is not my games .it installed msn, which I can do on this problem

MSN games are not part of Windows 7 so when you reformatted and reinstalled Windows 7 you have lost the. Depending on the type of game you will need to reinstall each game - this may mean to download again MSN. If they are browser based games simply to go to the MSN Web page for the game in the usual way.

If instead of MSN games, you actually mean that games built into Windows 7 as Chess Titans, Spider Solitaire & FreeCell, then you can just turn them on by using the following method:

    1. click on Start (lower-left) and then on Control Panel.

    2. click on programs and features.

    3. on the left side of the screen, click on 'Windows turn features on or off".

    4. find the entry called games & check the box next to it.

    5. click on OK.

    6 reset.

If the games box is already checked, uncheck the box , click OK, restart, then do steps 1-6 above.

  • Erasing a hard drive WELL on a machine with Windows 7 and 8

OK, I have two laptops, I'll sell, a HP Pavilion g7 with Windows 7 and a 2000 HP with Windows 8. I want to make sure that no personal info is left on them. I used the function "reset" on the Windows 8 machine and I used on the Windows 7 machine recovery disks. Some of what I saw online, that should be enough, but others say I should also use Windows Eraser, or something like that, make sure that no programs recovery software can recover all the data (if the person I have to sell is be a techie).

... And some say just to use the computer strongly without putting any personal information on this subject and it will make all previous data unrecoverable thereon, but does not say how strongly or for how long to use a computer to ensure that all personnel in this regard is unrecoverable.

So what is the answer? I don't have the recovery disc for the computer of Windows 8, I guess that I had to get a part or do some before using a hard drive eraser.

    Thank you

    Qathe2013

    Hi Qathe2013,

Let me first answer your last question: in most cases, yes you will need your recovery disc or you will end up with a computer without an operating system.  However most manufacturers, including HP, put another partition on the hard disk with a file recovery: what you need to reinstall the operating system.  Depending on how it is configured, this additional partition on the hard drive may or may not appear when you browse your files and folders in Solution Explorer, then you might need to make sure that the manual.

As to the "use the computer heavily and no info cannot be recovered", it's just about the fact that computers are still using re-use of space available disk and overwrite the old regions on the disk.  After a few re-writes the original data cannot be recovered using costly and sophisticated same restoration processes.  But you have no way of knowing if your real personal data was really erased.

I will say that for most, just format the disk is enough.  I might personally feel safe with that I don't have - or even just using the function to reset the PC in Windows 8.  However, this does mean that a sufficiently motivated person were able to restore the bits of information I have.  So a program that replaces empty space on the disk with random data (sometimes referred to as "zero-ing" the disc) would put you at ease.

I would also say long you can get your hands on the recovery CD (or make sure that the recovery partition exists), you can go ahead and clean the drive, reinstalled Windows itself and sell the PC.

I just bought a new laptop with windows 7 and there is no Chess Titans in games. I would have never bought it if I knew that. Is it possible I can get it?

When you check the list of Windows features it is not inside?

To get there, press the windows key and type in "features " without the quotes and then click on "turn on or off windows features ". "" In the window that appears, you should games and next to it a button "+". Go ahead and click the button "+". You should see Chess titans here. If it is unchecked then go ahead and check it and click OK when you are finished. It should appear in the Games folder in the start menu and Explorer games now. You can or you have to may not restart. It should tell you if it is necessary, however.
