HP Pavilion Dv6 fn options

I accidentally pushed a button in conjunction with my fn key, and he jumped to the top of the drive icon indicating sound, with a slash through it.  After that, the sound coming from my speakers sounded different.  How can I get back?  Is there a list of what fn combos for the HP Pavilion dv6 on Windows 7 there and what they do?

Thanks in advance...

  • Internal laptop HP Pavilion dv6-6c53cl - drive Options

    Greetings,

I just bought a HP Pavilion dv6-6c53cl Entertainment Notebook PC (Costco), and so far it has been a lot of things. Everything seems to work very well.

Because I do a lot of development in virtual Images, I ran a number of hard factors external to the laptop in the two weeks since I've owned (including an external SSD). All this seems to work well.

But, I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to install a second hard drive or SSD in this model of laptop. I saw on the HP site that some laptops allow for the installation of a second hard drive, but I couldn't find any information on this model that would suggest he can handle such a configuration.

My main objective for doing this, it would be to keep the original 1 TB hard supplied with the notebook, but perhaps a DSS secondary drive to run the paging activity from when this type of functionality is necessary when running some of my larger virtual Images.

Any help to clarify whether this is an option with the HP Pavilion dv6-6c53cl would be very much appreciated.

    See you soon,.

  • HP Pavilion Dv6 A5F77AV: HP Pavilion Dv6 A5F77AV no option of DCIS

I have a laptop HP Pavilion Dv6 A5F77AV. I've recently upgraded to a samsung evo and consider spending the AHCI system, but it doesn't seem to be an option in the BIOS.

Device Manager indicates the storage controller driver is Intel chipset SATA RAID controller.

The laptop is running on a processor intel i5, windows 7, Nvidia Geforce gt 650 m.

How can I get the laptop to run in AHCI?

    Hello:

    In short, you can't.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC: cannot install the Bluetooth driver

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 A1U55AV who had a hard drive failure. After replacing the drive and the installation of the operating system, I was able to get all the drivers reinstalled except bluetooth. First of all, the HP support site gives me three options... Looks like it should just give me a. Which should I use?

I tried to use the Intel PROSet Bluetooth Driver, but I get the following error on my machine (FYI - Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Service Pack 1 is my operating system).

I'm using the correct driver, and if so, why the installer does not work?

    Hello:

If you are sure that your laptop came with built-in bluetooth (the Realtek 8188CE wireless card can come in a combination or card bluetooth not combination), then this is the bluetooth driver you need for this wireless card.

  • Try refomat Pavilion dv6 Vista 64-bit. C: format not available

It has been a year since I have my Pavilion dv6.  It's a little slow and I want a new installation of Windows 7 64-bit.  All my data is stored on external hard drive.

I have my recovery disk ready to go.  When I right click on "C:" in the management of the computer, it won't let me choose 'Format '.  It is just gray.

    How to reformat my C:?

Yes, my laptop has a recovery partiion (D I understand that I must leave in tact.)

Advice on getting this format complete?

    Hello

Since you still have the recovery partition, use Restore Factory is a better option because formatting OS drive is not the same as the format or other readers. Please back up all your data/files first.

To set your PC/laptop to the factory settings, restart the PC/laptop. At HP Home screen has reached repeatly F11 (or ESC) key to start the recovery process. Follow the instructions on the screen.

  • Pavilion DV6-7010US: Windows 7 x 64 OS Recovery for a customer with a hard drive defective

If a customer brings in his laptop DV6 we replace the hard drive (physical hardware failure on the read/write heads, click of death) and you notice the product key (of course) is rubbed off the label.  In addition, the client wants that pass us 850 Pro Samsung SSD (no problem) as soon as we have the HP recovery media.

So we order the media and go to install it, and the first thing we encounter at 6% is the error: failed to create the CDS. FLG

    * crap *.

    Troubleshooting time:

Tried an external DVD - RW drive to install OS - no dice

Tried a disk WD Black 7200 RPM (new) - No dice

Tried removing the RAM bars, different slot configurations - no dice

Many other hours of troubleshooting resulted with all the same result.  We even recalled HP to verify that they sent the correct discs which they categorically said they did.

So here we are with a laptop that should have only taken an effort of 2 hours and ended up with a happy customer, and now we are nowhere close to a successful outcome.  So I return to the forum of the assistants, geniuses and then the occasional * happy? * HP Support person asking for help.

  • Good question HP Pavilion DV6 IDT High Definition Audio CODEC

    Hello

I recently bought a new laptop for school and study. I bought second hand, because I could not afford a completely new.

When looking for the laptop, make sure that everything was okay. I opened a YouTube video and the video began to play normally. No graphic problem must have problems of SUVs, or any audio. Plugged in my headphones and everything always went well. I literally checked everything and every aspect, and I finally bought it. It was running Windows 7 Home Edition 64-bit.

Once home, I did a factory reset and I erased the whole HARD disk, simply because I wanted to be sure I could start with a clean Windows 7.

Once he finished and booted up, I've updated Windows 7 until I couldn't either. Around now, time was about 02:00 at night.

I wanted to watch my series on the Internet, but I got no sound. I disconnected my headphones and reconnected them and yet one time. No sound.

I checked his Windows in the lower right, and while the video showed no activity of all sounds (no bars back) played. I then unplugged the earphones and tried on normal speakers. Nothing more.

Strange thing is that when I plug in my headphones and I go to sound options windows and then I chose 'headphones (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC) Communication I stop the video, lower or higher, sound and playback of the video, the sound works perfectly well. But as expected, when you unplug the headphones no sound again. I had the same exact process without being plugged in headphones, but without success.

During playback of the YouTube video this process works. But try a downloaded video, or the sounds of the sample of Windows itself, it gives me an error.

If I play a game I have no sound.

I don't know where I can see the correct modelnumber of your laptop, but it's a HP Pavilion DV6 with an i5 2410 M, 4 GB RAM 450 GB of storage (14, 5GB recovery) and a HD6770M AMD and Beats Audio.

    Any help is very appreciated!

It seems a problem with the audio driver.

Go to Device Manager > under sound and Audio > uninstall all the listed under it.

Select Recovery Manager > drivers and applications > find the IDT audio driver and reinstall it to the computer.

    Restart the computer.

  • HP Pavilion DV6-6169se: the HP Pavilion DV6-6169se upgrade

    Hello

I have HP Pavilion DV6-6169se, and I'm looking to update.

Can I know what is the available upgrade options?

    Thank you.

    Hello

    Since the following specifications:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02866520

    My suggestions (using this order):

    1. RAM: you can go to 8 GB, this will improve a bit.  Please use the following site to scan your machine. It will tell you exactly what you need and where to buy, or you can also use the information to buy elsewhere:

    http://www.crucial.com/USA/en/systemscanner

2 replace the HDD with a SSD: you can see many improvements during startup, downtime, open applications and save files. If you run applications that require a lot of Scriptures, SDD is much faster than the HARD disk.

3 CPU: upgrade CPU on laptops is a delicate issue. Please check the list before I go buy. The first manual on the following list a unelistede CPU is supported:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us & LC = in & Product = 5116493

    Good luck.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 notebook intermittent failure of keyboard

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 notebook, 1 year old.  Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, 8 GB of Ram.  I have an external wired keyboard (Logitech K120) and a separate wireless mouse.  Frequently in the past few weeks, I noticed that the keyboard will fail once the laptop worked for a while, usually when the laptop is in "sleep".  I hear by fails, * TWO * external and the internal keyboard.  Nor will respond to any strikes at all.  Mouse control is fine, even when the keyboard has failed.

If I rebooted the system, it works well again.

I think that when I saw this before, I tried to disconnect the external keyboard, but that doesn't matter, because the integrated keyboard does not work or the other.

I guess this could result from certain automatic Windows driver installation or upgrade?  Does anyone have advice for the diagnosis or verification of current drivers?

I have just closed the lid of the laptop, to force the machine mode 'sleep'.  When I opened the lid, the system has taken over, I can log in via the scanner digital, the mouse works but the keyboard has disappeared.  I had to reboot the system, update this message.

    fmaurais,

    Try the following steps:

Control Panel-> hardware and sound-> Power Options-> change Plan (of the current plan selected) settings-> change the advanced power settings-> parameter of selective suspension of USB-> Disable (both)

Control Panel-> hardware and sound-> Power Options-> change Plan (of the current plan selected) settings-> change the advanced power settings-> PCI-Express-> Link State Power Management-> Disable (both)

I read on a Microsoft page that is who can solve some problems "out of sleep."

    computerwhiz90,

I'll see if I can get a model of your laptop to see if I can reproduce the problem.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-6c14nr: how to install the software on HP Pavilion dv6-6c14nr

I had to reload a HP Pavilion dv6-6c14nr with Windows 7 Professional.   Also, I need to install Microsoft office.  I have the installation discs to install the programs and licenses.

Question using an installation CD the same process as with Dell computers.   Dells you choose F12 and select the CD drive and start the installation on the CD.

I already know that there is the partition of re - install that can be used to recover a broken BONE, but if this OS is not the one you want, then you must install the version of the OS from the CD you want, format the drive as part of the installation and continue on the it.

Once again my question is simply the key F12 serves the same function on HP laptops.

    Thanks in advance

    Wlamore

    Hello

No, F12 will not work on HP laptops. For Windows, please reboot your machine, it will display the key options you must hit to allow you to select where. Please select the DVD/CD player.

You can install MS Office like any normal installtion process.

  • Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC: I can pass on my HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC (memory, processor, graphics)

My dv6 became very slow. I am running Windows 10 and now it takes 15-20 minutes to wake him up from his sleep and connect. Ive done a lot of cleanup and optimization, but nothing got better on that. It get very hot very quickly and the fan always seems to be at the top. I'm looking to try to upgrade the memory and perhaps the (quad-core) processor at least if possible, to see if the performance is going to do better. I can hardly do anything on this issue now because it takes too long! I have a 1 TB of HDD installed there a few years and who works well, but everyday navigation, products microsoft office and editing photo/video light from time to time are almost impossible! I'm new to upgrades of memory and others so I had a bit of a problem of the research/understand exactly what I would like to search! I will post the form below!

    Available physical memory 716 MB
    Total virtual memory 7.67 GB
    Available virtual memory 1.26 GB
    Page file space 3.86 GB

You have a model dv6-3155dx. Here are your specs:

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docid=emr_na-c02548013

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See p. 23. Your laptop has the CPU i3 - 370 M and UMA (Intel HD) video so, unfortunately, the processor is not extensible because it is soldered to the motherboard. Put video updated would also require the replacement of the motherboard. CPU upgrades are very difficult and rarely justify financially, in any case, but in your case is not possible at all unless you replace the motherboard, which is even more expensive and less be justified financially. The cost of high end motherboard and CPU and work, you might as well buy a new laptop.

But all is not lost. The best upgrade, you can do is to install an SSD. You can also switch to 8 GB of RAM. An upgrade will be useful, together, they would be a game-changer.

You would need 2 x 4 GB modules specified thus:

    Memory module (DDR3 PC3 - 10600 1333 MHz) - 4096 MB 599092-001

    https://www.Amazon.com/HP-VH641AT-4-GB-DDR3-PC3-10600/DP/B0030L3B8E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8 & qid = 1472066313 & SR = 8-1 & Keywords = 599092-001

This model is very, very picky about the memory and it must have 8 black blocks on the side, not 4. Also very intolerant of memory not specified in general. Remember that I bound will work. 'How to' on the manual p.60.

SSDS are a little harder to choose (as many options) and what I need to know is your budget. I recommend at least a concert 500 class SSD and which will cost $120-160. Since you have 10 Windows, it would be easy to download the Microsoft recovery media directly and simply reinstall, then find the drivers and applications and migrate the data. The installation will be ignited automatically the first time that the computer is connected to the internet. You can also clone the existing content of the new SSD hard drive, but I do not recommend with a facility that is malfunctioning.

We also probably discuss blowing dust and verification of thermal management in general. A laptop that suddenly becomes very slow, as you describe may have a hard drive problem, too. You need to run diagnostics on the hard drive and also just to check to see if it is full. Drops of performance as a rock if the hard disk reaches 90 percent and more capacity.

    Hi @Rajendranath,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion dv6-6c40ex Entertainment Notebook and issues with programs not working not properly. You can do a System Restore. System Restore will help if something is automatically updated and wasn't on the laptop. I recommend somewhere around November 1, which ensures that the parameters that have been changed are fixed.

When running a system restore note remove all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices because they can cause problems.

Please let me know how it goes.
