    Hi @mayurz91 ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked in your question about your problems of HP Pavilion dv6-7040tx laptop and with updates.

Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system.

If you run an antivirus protection, this could be a problem. Disable temporarily to perform the required updates.

Note Remove all USB devices. Disconnect all devices of non-essential, as these can cause some problems.

Plug the power supply directly to a wall outlet works. Do not connect it a power strip, surge arrester, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue.

    I hope this helps.

HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook (bought year 2009 I was working in Qingdao in China as corporate PC) has started making a noise when using, it started about a month there is early December.

I tried restarting several times but its abnormal continues and I am concerned about it a lot--feeling that it will be broken, sooner or later.

Sound is like coming out of the rotating hard disk not smoothly, but very difficult to... not too big but very irritating...

Can you help me what I do to fix this noise?

    Hi @SHKeum,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on your HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook and the fan works not properly.

  • Noisy cooling fan - Pavilion dv6

My HP Pavilion dv6 is 8 months old and had a noisy fan during most of this time. It is not quite a constant noise, more like a constant wailing. Looks like it's to accelerate towards the high/slow down to the down/speeding towards the high/slow down/etc Ideas on the problem or the solution? Thank you.

    It is an overheating problem.

1 your vents may be clogged with dust and dirt.

2 the graph or the main processor may be reheated excessively, for one reason or another.

Whatever it is, I think he's going to need disassembling to clean\repair.

  • HP Pavilion DV6-3210us: different heat sink? (HP Pavilion DV6-3210us)

    Hello

Recently, I posted a message on a HP Pavilion dv6-3210us death.

Received a motherboard replacement & after installation, I turned on. The fan ran & almost from the start, the computer turns off. When I turned it back to try again, he came with a message 'overheat '. I waited and tried again, and yet once, it returns the same results...

Received another card mother replacement today and after further review (the original replacement is exactly the same) there is a chip with 3 screw for an another heat sink holes. It seems to be a video card with chips 4 memory along the side of it. The jury is exactly the same as the original with the exception of these chips. Does anyone know about this chip & if there is another type of heatsink / fan for it?

Thanks for any assistance, you may be able to provide.

I understand that since you had the laptop he had an overheating problem with a loud fan noise that causes freeze it.

Recently, you have received the message that the CPU fan has stopped working and you couldn't hear the rotation of the fan to the top.

You have removed the fan and checked, but the fan works.  It is possible that the connection was not safe in Notepad.

  • HP PAVILION DV6-3124TX heats up little s too

Hello everyone, long time user of HP, first time poster.

I have a HP PAVILION DV6-3124TX, first off the coast, it is an impressive machine. But recently its been doing extremely hot and extremely noisy (fan), and sometimes the carcass around the fan, festers while, if I touch it accidentally, I find hurt my fingers.

When you use the CPU temperature monitoring tools, they show that the temperature is around 70-75 (when the computer is idle, the CPU usage said Task Manager is about 1-2% RealTemp says the charge is 2 to 3%)

Also, when I leave the computer on without using it for a while (2-3 hours) even the upper part of the computer becomes extremely hot, the keyboard, the side to the left of the mouse, and sometimes all of the computer.

So what I want to know, is this normal? all this experience? and what other things I can try to solve this problem. And is there a way I could get a replacement, or trade of this computer to the other. Honestly, I don't want to go for the 2 last options, I love this computer so I don't want to give this dude, I'm a little (perhaps paranoid) worried because my warranty ends in 2012 April.

P.S. I wrote to customer support India, asking them for a solution to this and there is no response, I wrote the mail even once again, and he had no answer for the last week or two.

Oh and I checked for viruses, or any process abnormal, and I found nothing.

    Thanks in advance.
