HP Pavilion dv6 starts request at startup startup normally or repair problem

Hello, HP Pavilion dv6 starts to start normally or Startup Repair request. Results of normal boot BSOD too fast to read.

Startup Repair in execution, but 13 hours still not repaired. What should I do? My computer knowledge is poor in good conditions, but I'm at the point of turning into an expensive Frisbee. The fact that I have to use this UM netbook that will soon be a Frisbee is driving me crazy!

It's a venerable laptop purchased Feb 2010. It is a Pavilion DV6 (model DV6-2005-TX) running windows 7 Home premium (32 bit) and updates only did a request from Microsoft, so are a lot of patches and fixed security.

Help will be very humbly and grovellingly welcome.

Hello

The error code is different from the first, it is still a short drive self test failed and confirms that the drive must be replaced.

A brief overview of how to replace the hard drive is detailed below.

The player at the link below is an example of one that would be perfect for your laptop.

Hard drive 500 GB

The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 53 of your & Maintenance Guide.

Once this is done, simply use your recovery DVD to reinstall the operating system on the new drive - this is described in the document of HP here.

If you do not have your recovery discs, you can order a replacement set using the link below.

Order HP recovery disks.

If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

Kind regards

    I use a Pavilion dv6 WV815AV, and I used it for 3 years now.

I tried to start the computer and the fan and lights are lit, but not the monitor.  I tried to plug in my high school, and it's that now treats as if it were the only screen.  I had problems in the past of a few times where I would get past the HP logo, and then there would be a substantial delay where the screen remains black but be illuminated, but most of the time that he would go to the screen connection, and if not, a simple reboot managed to solve the problem.

  • Pavilion dv6 3127tx stucks at startup

IAM using windows 7 (64 bit) with Radeon hd 5600/5700 graphics card. When I turn on my laptop it stucks on welcome screen I noticed it created a folder with name "new folder" on desktop with driver inside files. I moved this folder, but it is created again after repair of window. especially when my mobile stucks on welcome screen after that on "restart hard"(en appuyant sur le bouton marche / arrêt) he asks repair window and restores the previous settings and then sign in. other wise, if I chose start window normally TI stucks again welcome. "." tell me whether a hardware problem or having problems with windows/graphic card.

Thanks for the help in advance

    Hello, @iqbal45

It seems that when you try so that it starts normally, you stay stuck on the Welcome screen. I will try to help you with this.

I don't think your problem is related to the graphics at all as if you choose to fix so you can get into Windows. Unless you encounter problems after that are related graphics or this folder indicates such.

Then probably something on the laptop during the start is at the origin of the gel. This could be a glitch or corruption in Windows, a program that launches (at the beginning) or a virus.

An easy fix for this would be a System Recovery, although this is usually a last resort. If you're ok with now do, I would recommend this doing. If this isn't the case, then you can try a few other possibilities first.

Demarrer start in Safe Mode , then try:
    Clean boot
Analysis antivirus + Malware scan (MalwareBytes is a very good program for the latter, use antivirus whatever you like (free with Avast, AVG) you can google all).

You can also try the update drivers any with the HP Support Assistant and all Windows updates. (should be able in normal startup or in safe mode)

If the foregoing produces no result, then recover (don't forget to backup).

I hope you're able to help. Please let me know how make you out.
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.

  • Pavilion DV6 starts

When turn on/off my lappie, I hear the fans and the beginning of the hard drive, the lights come on, but there is no backlight on the monitor. I did a hard boot but nothing. I tried to get into the bios by pressing ESC or F10 after restart but same nothingness. If I can't get my lappie working, I would at least get the data off of it. Can anyone help?

    Hello

Have you had a video output of the external screen?

If not, then it is probably a problem with the hardware with the graphics card. If you have the display on the outside, it could be a loose wire to the frame in.

In any event, your best option would be to contact support for further assistance on this:

  • Pavilion Dv6 - startup with beep continuous and wouldn't start without the CD inside windows

Hi, so I was using my laptop one day, perfectly fine and I got sick, so I had it turned off for about 2 or 3 days. When I turned it back on it started constantly beep (1 beep long, but 1 beep followed by another instantly.

Now I tried to reinstall Windows 7 and did, but she continued with the same problem. So I did a format on my drive, and did install a clean windows 7, it completed the installation currently and reset to move to the next step (now it does not start back to the desktop to completely finish doesn't stop beeping and freezing)

I did a hard reboot and that did not work and I cleaned my air, nothing has worked to resolve this issue, and I did nothing in 2 or 3 days, he was off (before that day, I played last, it was working fine, and the day I turned it off everything I've done has been playing World of Warcraft don't not download/install something again)

I opened the back and checked my memory was sitting on the right, and my HARD drive was inplace correctly (at the beginning when it was happening, it would not be in the office without the Windows 7 CD inside, now after I did a clean install, he's not going to the office without worrying)

I read another post with similar problems and plan to go out 1 of my RAM sticks and just try to run with 1 in, and switching them and try to see if that helps, but I'll do that tomorrow as I worked on this thing for hours tonight, I've been on the Windows 7 forum get advice from someone here, but he gave a link to read and agreed I should post here also.

My suspisions that if none of this works, it's my Proccessor, my Ram or my entire CPU, which in this case, I know not what to do to do or if it is worth fixing (Ram is easy, but the other two seems difficult and costly) for any help or advice as I can get from you guys would be greatly appreciated it's a HP Pavilion dv6 notebook.

Edit: I managed to enter the office and my clean install of windows 7 in full, and I made a default reset in the BIOS, will return tomorrow with updates I have.

Yes mate, I waiting since I posted a reply with HP staff.

They are * beep * ing pathetic and I would never buy a HP anything ever, I will also say to all my friends and tell all my friends to tell their friends and so on and so forth, do not to do. I will also let any forum I post on the same and any game online that I play on the same thing.

I gave up and will just buy a new DESKTOP PC, they work better and you can actually solve the material problems if it's graphics/CPU things, unlike a laptop.

If I were to ever get a laptop once again, it will not be a HP, I'd rather have nothing then use a pathetic HP product ever, I would rather die then have to use it. Their technical support is pathetic, and I had nothing else problems with the HP laptop I've had since the beginning.

Because of their pathetic excuse for a computer/laptop, I am behind in my studies and have perhaps missed a few projects that I'm not able to repeat. Thank you HP, you are now under the dirt for me.

How can I find my model number or product number?

I understand that since you had the laptop he had an overheating problem with a loud fan noise that causes freeze it.

Recently, you have received the message that the CPU fan has stopped working and you couldn't hear the rotation of the fan to the top.

You have removed the fan and checked, but the fan works.  It is possible that the connection was not safe in Notepad.

Here is a link to an overheating and Auto Shutdown problem troubleshooting.

Have you checked for an update of the bios of your laptop. You have provided the series of laptop you have, but not the exact model, so I'm not able to check it for you.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-3150us Entertainment Notebook not start after sitting on the side.

Hello! I have a HP Pavilion dv6-3150us Entertainment Notebook that works under Windows 7. Last week, I traveled with him in Florida, and when I arrived and tried to turn on the laptop, it wouldn't start. The screen was white with thin lines going through it and the screen turned slowly black. I disassembled the computer and put it back together (which I have experience with, I installed a new fan at the beginning of last year) and he came in safe mode. This ihappened still once I put the laptop in my bag on back and then he pulled out a few minutes later (without even moving) and when I got home. I tested the hard drive and memory, and they both passed. Other that this question, the computer has worked fine. I need to get this problem solved, because I am a PhD student and travel frequently with your laptop. Could someone help me please? What causes this problem? Thank you.

  • Start menu and startup gel repair

Hi, I have this very annoying problem with my HP Pavilion dv6-model1334us.

Whenever I try to boot my laptop it always presents the menu screen saying launch Start Up repair or start Windows normally. I tried to do a restore system several times, but the display will stop just on a blue screen. It is not the Blue Screen of Death and it tries to start, but fails and stands on the screen until it stops automatically or manually.

Please help, this problem is causing me to have migraines and others.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello

305 error code is a failure of the complete (Full) disk Self Test (DST) and would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the startup problem you describe in your initial post.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, let me know.

  • Pavilion dv6 - 6c04ea battery alert on Start up

    Pavilion dv6 - 6c04ea

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

All of a sudden, I started getting a message on Start Up of the HP battery alert. The message tells me that the battery level is extremely low and that I might have to replace it. There is a web address available to learn more - www2.hp.com/techcenter/startup/ (which address brought me to this forum)

Controller battery charge at the far right of the status bar, tells me that there is no charge in the battery so that I can't use it without the power cord. He also tells me it does not load even if the power cord is connected.

The laptop is 30 months old. Can someone tell me if there is something to try before I go buy a new battery?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

No. 30 months is worth about 65 battery years... not really old, but in the end of the life sector.  You could enter the program Support Center and look for advanced battery information and look to see how many cycles there. More than 350 is a good life. Weird, but it's time to get a new battery just.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 - slow start compared to laptop older?

    Hello

I recently bought a new Pavilion dv6 but noticed that there a start more slow times compared with my old Toshiba Portege R705-P35. I'm just curious as to why this is since the Portégé has much lower than my flag specs.

    Thank you

    TheLongBoarder

    Hi TheLongBoarder,

The slow start could be caused by several different things. The first thing you want to do when diagnosed with a problem with a computer, is if it's a hardware problem or a software problem. In your case, I think it would be a hardware problem. You shouldn't have a problem with the memory or the speed of your hard drive. This model must be run at least 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM.

It also depends what 'boot' you talk about.

    1. if it was the boot of when you press the power button to the Windows login screen (post), it could be a problem with the BIOS. May not have the most recent version, or the settings in the BIOS cannot be addressed to optimize speed and start Windows.

If the version of the BIOS is the problem, you can find the latest version by going to the page drivers downloads HP, select the exact model of your laptop (i.e.. dv6-6c35dx) number, select your operating system and navigate to the section called "BIOS". Follow the instructions below to check if the currently installed version is newer or older version online.

    1. Click on Start and then run.

    2. In the text box on the run window, type regedit and click OK. This will open the registry editor program.

Note: Do not make changes to any entry anywhere in the registry editor to avoid causing serious problems in the system. These steps only directly allow you to display a registry entry, is not to make changes.

    3. Find the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE under my computer folder and click the plus sign (+) after the folder name to expand the folder.

    4. In records resulting, find and click the plus sign (+) next to the hardware STORE to expand this folder.

    5. In records resulting, find and click on the (+) sign next to the DESCRIPTION to expand this folder.

    6. In records resulting, locate and click the folder System .

    7. In the results displayed in the right window, locate the entries SystemBiosVersion andSystemBiosDate .

    8. The data in the SystemBiosVersion field contains the version of the BIOS of your motherboard. This field can also contain additional information such as the manufacturer of the chipset and the manufacturer of the BIOS.

    9. The data in the field SystemBiosDate contains the date in the calendar associated with the current version of the BIOS of your motherboard. The date of the BIOS can be useful to determine the current version of the BIOS from the motherboard manufacturer's Web site if the version is not clear in the area of SystemBiosVersion .

    10. Close the registry editor without making any changes.

The BIOS settings: If the problem is with the settings in the BIOS, there are a couple of tweeks that allow you to optimize speed. When you turn on the computer, the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) works a lot of tests on devices and configure the devices connected to your computer. If some parameters are not configured correctly, the startup of your PC speed can be reduced. Enter the BIOS setup and look for commands or settings that may not be correct. To be sure, run a Google search to be sure. Make sure that your first boot device is set on your main hard drive. Make sure that the logo of the motherboard display is turned off. And make sure that the Quick start quick start feature is activated.

2 if your talking about startup as the loading process connection Windows for a full load of Windows in the Windows desktop, you may have a problem with too many programs to load with windows. In this case, you can easily check and disable all programs unwanted on startup with Windows, which can cause speed problems. You can do this:

    1. click "Start" and type "msconfig" in the search bar and press "enter."

    2. This will open "System Configuration utility".

    3. on the right side of the window, navigate to the tab "start".

    4. you will see a list of all programs to load with Windows. Here, you can decide what you do or you want to load with Windows. Some programs are required to load with Windows so that Windows load and run properly, so careful who you disable. If you are not sure if it's necessary for Windows, you can do a quick search on google to be sure. Search for the song titled "startup item". Copy and paste in Google and type "is"EXAMPLE"necessary to start Windows? You will usually find your answer quickly enough.

Slow start could be caused by a couple of other reasons as well.

    1.  fragmented - registry Windows registry is the most indispensable of the Windows operating system. When he begins to have problems with the registry, the speed and functionality of Windows becomes considerably slower. I doubt that this could be the problem with your computer. It is possible, but it is new and that if you have applied heavy use in a short period of time, it is not the likely culprit. If it, however, it's worth a check. You can find a good registry cleaner online and give him a check.

2 of virus or Spyware infections- once the infections on the computer, they can cause immediate damage to Windows features. If you have been online a lot, even with an anti-virus program, you may have a virus any. You must run a full scan just to be sure. You can also download the free version of Malwarebytes and run as well. It works very well and is quite powerful.

Hope that this helped you and you have this problem is resolved. If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to me message. In fact, I have a model dv6 that I may be able to help in any future issues, you may have.

    Later,.
