HP Pavilion dv6t Quad Edition Entertainment PC

Hi Hello, I had some problems lately with my laptop, it has been slow and freezing from time to time. I bought about a year ago and so far, it seems it's fault.

I recently did a Test drive to press F2 and a Hard Drive self-test from the configuration of the BIOS.

I got a fast hard disk (303) message and "DST short hard drive failed. Fail ID is Q0FALW-6056KX-QFPH5A-60VV03.

I have this message before until now, bothers me it's just for a year, the news of the hard drive are a 750 GB HDD at 5400 RPM.

I have no warranty because I wasn't able to afford and I would like to see what I have options.

Thanks for any help provided. If more information is needed, I'll be more than happy to put it

Unfortunately HP hard drives have a short life span. You will need to replace it with a new HARD drive. Don't buy recovery discs, as they are not compatible with other than the original HARD disk drives.

As guideline (as from first person experience), you should do this:

1 buy a new HDD in the Amazon (make sure it is a laptop-sized) which is a decent price for a decent size

2 buy a new OS

3. buy a USB adapter (usb hard disk type) for your old HDD dying and allows to recover your files (most likely the boot files are messed up)

The dv6t is a rather expensive laptop then you probably wouldn't consider buying a new computer. However, ASUS is the most reliable company on the market right now are less likely to fail (portable computers HP being more likely to fail). Of course their guarantees to end once problems arise. Then, note that the rest of the laptop will start to fail as well.

Sorry to break the bad news to you, but live us and learn.

  • HP Pavilion dv6t-6100 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC bluetooth?

I have a HP Pavilion dv6t-6100 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC with Win7 Home Edition. The manual indicates that it has bluetooth capabilities. Device Manager does not list a bluetooth adapter. Belarc Advisor said that the laptop has an Intel Centrino Wireless Bluetooth 3.0 adapter and high-speed virtual. I downloaded and installed sp55138.exe Intel PROSet driver bluetooth, but still no bluetooth.

This laptop have bluetooth capability, and what is the appropriate driver/software to activate it?

    Thank you.

To check if your laptop is Bluetooth capable, go to the device and then manager network adapters. Note the model of network adapter, and then check the manufacturer's website. My original card is an Intel N1000, that isn't compatible Bluetooth. I intend to change it on shortly with another model that has Bluetooth.

  • Disable Secure Boot on HP Pavilion dv6t - b 6, 00 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC

    Hello

    I have a HP Pavilion dv6t - b 6, 00 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC and I installed 8 64-bit windows.

I installed the latest version of the BIOS F.1C.

I want to disable Secure Boot to boot from a USB EFI.

I started windows in Advanced Mode, but I don't see the option highlighted here: http://www4.pcmag.com/media/images/380851-back-to-windows-7-uefi-firmware-settings.jpg?thumb=y

My BIOS is locked and I don't have any advanced options there.

    Thank you

    Have a great day.

If you original computer comes with Windows 7, it is not / is not compatible "Secure Boot. Please see "on UEFI and Start Menu" for more information on access to various start up options and instructions on disabling "Secure Boot".

To boot from a valid "UEFI USB", the computer must recognize the active UEFI boot device. Some computers are not what UEFI valid "NTFS" format USB Flash Drives UEFI activate and in this case, the USB Flash drive must be formatted in FAT32.

Use the Boot Menu or Boot Device menu to choose a source of UEFI, such as Windows Boot Manager startup, - internal CD/DVD drive or UEFI - UEFI USB Flash drive.

.. . How update the bios?

You don't Flash the BIOS unless you get the upgrade for the BIOS of the page of CTO Quad Edition Notebook PC drivers HP ENVY dv6t-7300. Since there is no upgrade BIOS listed on this page, there is no way to upgrade the BIOS. Depending on the exact systemboard and the OS that is installed on your computer, the HP part number will be something like "682174-501", which means "Windows 8 Standard / 2.0 GB of discrete video memory / 45 Watt CPU. The comparable numbers for the dv6t-7000 series is 682174-001, which means "Windows 7 / 2.0 GB of discrete video memory / CPU 45 watts.

    Hello

This notebook is without a doubt SATA III. The size is more or less in your pocket. I prefer Corsair or readers Intel but Samsung and Kingston were also a few good products. I generally recommend buying any SSD with SandForce SATA controllers that readers have faster speed writing and in my opinion even better reliability.

What is the full product name and the product number of your laptop? Post so I can watch the BIOS updates to see if improvements to the one you asked. So far, it's a no-go on this one. I know when you share your product number or name of the product with us.

On further inspection of the improvements in the BIOS for both models, I can tell you that the Nvidia GTX 660 M is currently incompatible with the motherboard of your laptop.

  • Ordered a 7000-dv6t Quad Edition but received a dv6t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC

I ordered a Quad dv6t-7000 with Win7 Ultimate edition (all confirmed in my writings to order), but a dv6t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC has been delivered. I just found out that's what they were sent instead. What is the difference in the features? Do I need to return it for all the same features that I ordered?

Also, my portable drive was supposed to have a backlit keyboard, but the laptop delivered is not... unless there is a way to activate backlit. I tried to find out how to activate the backlit keyboard, but not him have not yet discovered. I didn't find any documentation anywhere on this subject.

    Thanks for any help

    Hey,.

Dv6t-7000 CTO will be the same, however, we use the CTO marker (configured to order) on any model with some customizations made in the order. Even if you adjust the hardware options, if you have added any software or anything this is improved during the purchase process, then he would give the CTO marker. Don't worry, you have received the correct computer

For the backlit keyboard, on most of the models the hotkey to activate it is Fn + F5. The F5 F4 on some models, the correct key will have 3 small squares side by side.

HP ENVY dv6t-7200 CTO Quad Edition (product: B6C68AV)

    QUESTION:

I had no sound * on the 'go get' speakers (that is, from the cooktop for the first time). I say no sound with an asterisk (*) because it makes noise, just everytime he tries to make the sound he is supposed to make ends up looking like a noise low echo a little sound for a movie like "Friday the 13th" when Jason is lurking in the Woods (i.e., cheh-Shh-Shh-Shh... kah-ka-ka-ka). At no point has the appropriate sound has played from the speakers (start, stop and everything in between)... it was either the noise low echo or a sequence of tick-tick-tick sounds.

    TRIED SO FAR:

So far, I tried to solve problems by using the information below:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03257712

I tried each of the 'steps', but none of them are able to solve the problem. I should mention that it runs that diagnostic stuff are not errors... it seems to "think" the speakers work as it should.

I've seen many "solutions" here who describe the new drivers download (even though when I clicked on the audio driver update, it said it was updated). It makes sense, why one would need to do if the computer came originally pre-loaded with Windows 7 and the new OS W8 won't play nice with all the drivers existing, but I guess for me it is not make sense why a brand new computer which has Windows 8 pre-loaded would be defective right out of the box like that. Quality control does not check if the speakers correctly? Or could it just be a flaw introduced somewhere in the process of packing/shipping-related?

I would phone HP and request repair under warranty. Select your country here for the info page > Contact HP Envy The series has a separate section on the page of phone numbers.

HP does not keep the stock of old kits of recovery beyond Windows 7. You can order from suppliers of third party such as as follows:

    Hello

You may have two configs using SSDS. The first is to get an SSD as Samsung 256 GB 2.5 "(j'ai eu sur mon Core i5/GT 650 M Dv6-7000) Pro and use it as a main boot drive in the hard drive Bay." The second is to have an mSATA (a bit more difficult to access as says Hüffer) SSD as boot drive (I just got one on a laptop of M6-1000) and keep the hard drive for data.

I prefer a pure SSD, but the way with mSATA as boot drive is also OK. However, there is no option in the BIOS to start from mSATA for the boot loader must be installed on the disk 2.5 "hard and the system on the mSATA one. I fear that, in both cases, you will need to perform a new installation, because strong readers are not as large as the original hard drives and recovery disks cannot work with them.

  • Bluetooth problem: HP Pavilion dv7t-6100 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC

    Hello forums HP!

I have problems with the bluetooth in my HP dv7t-6100.

I am no longer able to see/add devices bluetooth with Windows 7 is to add a device. He was working a few weeks ago, but was (waking up from his sleep would cause the device to turn off and I should enable in Device Manager to operate).

I tried unistalling, then reinstall the drivers Wifi and different bluetooth drivers, but I can't see my bluetooth devices (which I know work btw).

Try to add the com ports manually does not work, and I can't remove them later, because I get the message error "the specified service does not exist.

And by clicking on "Choose a COM port for a Bluetooth device" brings up the help page for Spider Solitaire, which makes no sense.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you!

WELL, I GOT MY BLUETOOTH WORKS AGAINN!  (Sorry for the caps)

After turning around uninstalling and installing drivers for many hours, deletion of registry keys, reseating the bluetooth module, I finally found something that worked.

I have installed the Toshiba bluetooth stack software and unfortunately, my bluetooth has started working again! Wohoo!

It was difficult to settle at first it seemed that the installation froze on the driver real bluetooth, but just cancel and start the program caused to function normally. (I think its because my stack of drivers/bt bt were corrupt and I couldn't make them disappear completely).

So, if your bluetooth stops working to the point where mine was to, try another bluetooth stack. It should not be Toshiba, but it happens to work with my HP laptop.

    SEE YOU SOON!
