Question

My laptop won't start and when it does stop down suddenly or BSOD screen comes up. My battery died and when the computer starts, it displays a message on this subject. I've updated the BIOS and driver software but could not solve this problem. It is used to run and operate perfectly. Help, please!

Problem solved! A loose chip (graphics card) has been the cause of all the problems. My laptop works as fine as ever. It was also the problem of previous versions of the laptop dv6/7. So, you just need to check if the graphics chip is loose. If so, welding, it will allow to solve! Good luck!!

I use a wireless mouse (or a wired mouse) preferably instead of the touchpad.   The touchpad has a power button to press - white light indicates on and off Orange light.    After booting, I usually disable the touchpad and mouse wireless, however, sometimes when you type I realize my palms are contacting the touchpad and the cursor jumps around accordingly.    The touchpad is disabled (orange light) but I can control it with a finger, it works like its supposed to as if it is enabled.     Any ideas?   I have not downloaded a driver updated or do anything to try to solve this problem, as I fear, it could actually cause other problems.

Update the driver it is the usual Council for problems - that is the solution here?   Has anyone else had a similar problem.    Most of the touch pad problems I've read is in regards to an erratic touchpad - nothing to do with 'on' or 'off' problems.

    HI @WayneCM,

Thank you for your inquiry. I will do my best to help you!

I understand that you use the power button / stop to turn off the touchpad.  Sometimes, you will notice that your palm is in contact with it and the cursor is accordingly jump around but the rest light orange, to show that he has disabled.  Here is a link for HP Notebook PCs - using the touchpad and ClickPad (Windows 10). Please review the section on "Open the properties of the ClickPad" in figure 4, you'll see there's a button where you can disable the touchpad, until you want to reactivate it. HP Pavilion dv7-6b32us laptop

Start-up took like 15 minutes so I did some diagnostics and received a failure id QC6C51-5R67HW-QFPH4K-402BO3

The operating system could be zero, but not sure.

What is the error? Can't seem to find anything online. Very much appreciate your help.

    Thank you!

It seems that the hard drive has failed/is a failure and should be replaced. If you are still in warranty HP will send a replacement. If this is not the case, a laptop SATA hard detail can be used. Just be sure to get a quality at least equal the original in order to use recovery disks. It may be big, but not small ability more. For example if you have a 500 GB hard drive you can use a 750 GB hard drive, but not a 320 GB hard drive.

If your computer stopped responding, restarted unexpectedly, or was automatically closed down to protect your files and folders, select last good known Configuration to return to the most recent settings that worked.

    Hmmm. very strange

I think you should try to format the whole HARD drive with an original CD of Microsoft Windows XP.
Delete all partitions and reinstall the operating system.

If you want to save the files on the HARD drive, then I recommend to remove the portable computer HARD drive and plug it into the second computer via external USB HDD controller.

After that backup files put the laptop HARD drive, access to the BIOS, set the default BIOS settings and save the settings.

Then use the Xp CD to format drive HARD and new installation.

Tried recovery disc I made. They caused the computer to lock up and just touch e power to stop would work to stop it. Ordered a new series of discs a few months earlier and go around doing a cover of them last week. Recovery stopped shortly after the second disc would begin (modified time/%) and would eject the DVD drive with a message to contact HP support and a replacement disk HARD would normally fix this problem press Finish to close the computer. After the reboot, I get this message:

Windows could not start. a recent hardware or software change might be the cause.  To solve the problem:

1: Insert your Windows installation disc, and then restart your computer.

    8 GB OF DDR3 MEMORY

    1 TB HARD DRIVE

    128 GB SSD

    Hi Tony,.

Well, I finally understand that. I removed the RAM that was in it and installed just the 12800 DDR3 4 GB. There was a short video on the internet on Windows errors and he said try it. Well, it worked for me. Then, it was just a question of what the devil the restore program was doing. Guests or lack thereof are terrible, and the only way to know if it still works on something is on the lookout for the activity on the LED on the HARD drive. Thanks for the answer, and I hope one of these patches, either yours or mine, will help someone else. Incidentally he semed to the amount of installed memory. Whenever I went to 8GB I had problems. 6 or less and it was OK. Any manufacturer or speed (HP recommend of course) worked as long as I stayed under the 8GB. Thanks again.

I bought a replacement HD for my Pavilion dv7 - 4153cl and loading windows, I need to load the driver (I guess that a driver IDE or SATA).  It throws an error saying no compatible device not found driver (I can get exact error if necessary).  I went on HP website, downloaded 2 bios drivers, Bios tools, and storage driver.  What is an exe, I ran and then copied the directory created on a CD.

I point to the CD and still unable to find the device driver.

    Any ideas?

If you are prompted for a driver to support the hard drive during the installation of Windows? It's because the Manager of storage on this laptop isn't RAID, AHCI and Windows 7 isn't this RAID driver available on the installation disc. But fear not only intel makes the driver available here:

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/download/24779/Intel-rapid-storage-technology-Intel-RST-RAID-driver

You need the F6 driver for 32 or 64 bit one correct installation that you do.  If 64-bit, you must f6flpy-x 64.zip. These are compressed files (.zip). Download the .zip to a different computer and extract the .zip to a USB key and when you reach him point the Windows installation when it is asked for a driver, navigate to the location where the files were extracted from the thumb drive. This should allow you to proceed with the Windows installation.

If it's 'the Answer' please click on 'Accept as Solution' to help others find it.

  • HP Pavilion dv7-3170ez: volume indicator not showing when the volume control

    Hello

I own a Pavilion dv7-3170ez and when I change the volume using the slider button in the volume on top of the keyboard, the volume is adjusted accordingly, but no volume indicator appears on the display.

Previously, when you adjust the volume, a speaker icon with a cursor jumped in the middle of the screen showing the current volume level.

I use Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows Update and HP update shows that I have the latest version of the software. Also, I have the latest version of the BIOS installed.

Note: the touch buttons on top (volume, speaker and enable wireless, etc) stopped working a few days after the disappearance of the sound meter, I have fixed that by connecting battery power and disconnectiong for awhile. However, the indicator is still not displayed. Don't know if this is related (I guess not).

    Thank you

The Volume OSD is a HP MediaSmart Menu function. He has to load at startup. To do this, go to msconfig and make sure that it is enabled under the Startup tab...

  • my computer won't boot and when she does takes like an hour to start

Hi there, my computer has been drop a few days there, from a height of about 1 foot or less and since then it won't start normally and when it does start it takes a long time to load as an hour or two, what could be the problem?  It is a compaq cq229-219wm running windows 7

    Hey josevhp,

303 error seems to indicate that the drive is defective and must be replaced - it is also compatible with startup problems you describe.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disc replaced. Normally, what happens is that HP will send you the replacement of HARD drive to mount yourself - you pay a deposit which is refunded when you return the defective HARD drive

  • Pavilion dv7 hangs on windows start screen

    Hi all

This problem started a few days after I bought this computer in June, and I have tried everything I can think of including the factory restore and nothing has helped. I really don't want to return it because I really like it, but I can't stand this problem starting. I bought this one after I returned a dv6 for a power supply problem, it would not turn on at all after I had it for only a few weeks.

When the laptop is turned on it starts and then freezes on windows start screen. It takes a few other tests of the switch, tool repair, before I can get it to come. The repair tool is useless for this problem. In this process, I also end up with BSOD and stop errors. The error that appears now is 0 X 00009086. I will use no more restore because it isn't helped either.

A computer brand new, not even a month and he has this major problem. I've read other articles published on the dv7 and have not found anything else to try.

    Windows 7 home.

I would appreciate any ideas to try before I end up taking it back too.  Don't bode well for buying another HP again that's for sure.

    Hello

I had already tried the first two options and they did not help.

When I tried the 3rd option gave you the process stopped at C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\classpnp.sys.  I looked into this and found it to be a problem in Vista too. I have read through the postings for this but haven't tried anything yet.

BSOD Stop error message... 9086 is associated with this start hang up.

I move from the Intel site and ran their audit tool then update the HM65 Chipset. This had no effect on the victory starts page suspended.

I ran sfc and he found no violation of integrity.

I was leaving my laptop because it is easier then trying to make it work again properly now 4-5 tries to make it work. It aggravates really me that I have this problem with a new computer.

    I try next?

Thank you for your help on this.

  • HP dv7 (2010) won't start.

I tried to start my computer this morning and got a black screen. The caps lock flashes every 2 seconds, and the wireless button is orange. I tried to resseating memory, but it does not work. I tried to unplug and it runs on battery, no dice.

If I need to get my computer repaired, how much could it cost? It would be worthwhile for a dv7 2010?

    ___

Please give us the full model number. I think you've tried everything short of a repair or replacement of the motherboard. If you can remove the motherboard there are stores that sell their services through eBay which will rework the jury for as low as $60. The dv7 2010 would still be a good laptop, if you could get another year or two on it for $60. I don't spent not $ 300-400 HP would charge to replace the motherboard.

  • HP Pavilion DV5-1002NR won't start...

Recently during the game Team Fortress 2, my laptop off automatically (as a precaution-i security CPU guess was too hot?)

and I've waited a long time to turn it back on... and it does not light. The only thing that flashes (while running on battery)

is the Flash LED flashes 3 times whenever I press the power button.

Something more strange is that my phone accepts not as costs of a/c (ie the led is connected a/c)

My fear is that I bricked the machine, which is unfortunate because I have lots of photos on the hard drive, as well as some of

    my important projects for school...

    Any help would be nice...

It is strange to have DV5-1002NR in the States? given that NR appears as a code for the Netherlands

Unfortunately, im always on the same boat, but with a bigger hole in it... My laptop won't even accept a Charge of a/c let alone boot up... the thing is, I can't tell if its still be saved or he did himself brick?

Try a new power adapter.  If there is no light when it's plugged in, it is not powered (this is why the lights flash - the battery is dead).  If a new power adapter does not work then there is a problem with the jack card or feeding system.

  • HP Pavilion s5704y: s5704y won't start, help

A friend has a s5704y and she said that she does not start. Went and I sterted it and got the blue screen of HP and he died with the monitor not saying no signal.

I replaced the CR2032 on the MB, because I saw that a dead battery will cause a no boot. At first startup, I got the blue screen then the back style info about type MB and available ram... etc then he went went beck to no signal.

On other restarts it happens to the blue HP screen and then go to no signal.

I have a hunch that it is feeding. I want to order one for her, unless it is necessary.

Can anyone confirm or give suggestions on what it might be?

I checked all connections and were ok.

    Thank you

    JBL

I brought her home computer and put it on another monitor. No change in the condition.

I run it with the side and these are comments:

On startup, I get the blue HP screen with start-up in SF and how to enter the bios. Screen turns off but the monitor status indicator (power button on the monitor initiative) stays green for about 3 seconds. He will then go yellow for less than a second and then show me the blue screen of the HP. This goes on and on.

The off side, the block of power SUPPLY, CPU and case fan all run. The led on the back of the PSU remains a steady green whenever I have the power cord is plugged.

In the bios, I have restored the default settings and did see that the HD and the CD-rom are recognized by the bios.

    F9 all past and ran.

It seems there is no power to the hd.

I tried to boot from a cd of back by changing the boot order of thet. I got something on the setting of the battery. and then asked if I wanted to boot from the hd and run win 7. I said yes and got the recovery screen of windows with the option of safe mode, safe mode with network down to operate normally. I chose normally and it started.

A reboot and then a cold start and it starts fine.

Don't know what it was that he hung to the top but it is now working well.

The only things I did were reset in the bios by default, change the boot order.

Any idea of what was in error for later use?

    Thank you
