HP Pavilion DV5-1002NR won't start...

Recently during the game Team Fortress 2, my laptop off automatically (as a precaution-i security CPU guess was too hot?)

and I've waited a long time to turn it back on... and it does not light. The only thing that flashes (while running on battery)

is the Flash LED flashes 3 times whenever I press the power button.

Something more strange is that my phone accepts not as costs of a/c (ie the led is connected a/c)

My fear is that I bricked the machine, which is unfortunate because I have lots of photos on the hard drive, as well as some of

my important projects for school...

Any help would be nice...

It is strange to have DV5-1002NR in the States? given that NR appears as a code for the Netherlands

Additional info: portable is almost 3 years since I bought and recently replaced screen and fix a problem of screen graphics blurred.

HARD RESET does nothing...

Unfortunately, im always on the same boat, but with a bigger hole in it... My laptop won't even accept a Charge of a/c let alone boot up... the thing is, I can't tell if its still be saved or he did himself brick?

Try a new power adapter.  If there is no light when it's plugged in, it is not powered (this is why the lights flash - the battery is dead).  If a new power adapter does not work then there is a problem with the jack card or feeding system.

  • short circuit in power CC connect Pavilion dv5-1002nr

I bought my son a Pavilion dv5-1002nr in August 2008. The battery started to not hold a charge. It seems that there is a short circuit in the DC power connect. The Geek Squad at Best Buy (where I bought the laptop) says that to fix it, the motherboard must be replaced - about $ 500. Really? It is the only solution? Can anyone confirm? I would be grateful for information. If it is true, I won't buy another HP if they will only last less than 2 years. Help!

OK, the only way to get this d/c Jack is to buy all cases of lower integer.  This is the info for the hp part store. I hope this helps.

My laptop won't start and when it does stop down suddenly or BSOD screen comes up. My battery died and when the computer starts, it displays a message on this subject. I've updated the BIOS and driver software but could not solve this problem. It is used to run and operate perfectly. Help, please!

Problem solved! A loose chip (graphics card) has been the cause of all the problems. My laptop works as fine as ever. It was also the problem of previous versions of the laptop dv6/7. So, you just need to check if the graphics chip is loose. If so, welding, it will allow to solve! Good luck!!

  • White screen of HP Pavilion dv5 1002nr start-up and error code lights flashes twice, corrupt BIOS!

Equipped with a corrupt BIOS, I struggle to try to replace the BIOS of the motherboard.

The processor is a AMD Turion series.

Question, can anyone tell me definitively when the BIOS chip is located on the motherboard.  It seems to be next to the RTC battery on a piece of white under layer in the cutting of a transparent plastic layer.

Also, is this the only way to save the laptop from the corrupted BIOS will not work the POSITION for me to get into the BIOS to try to restore or update?

It is laptop a grandson and grandpas still inherit this type of problems.

I'd appreciate any help, instructions or information on this seemingly hopeless situation.

    Thank you

You are right about the location of the BIOS chip, this is a chip of 8 spindles/leg next to the battery.  The only other option if you are sure it's bios is to replace the motherboard.  The bios chip is on ebay for $20 to $30.  I have the same problem with the same laptop and I think I'll just bite the bullet and replace the motherboard, if the problem was caused by overheating it could have other problems that surface after replacing the bios chip and you will be chasing ghosts.  The motherboard is also on ebay for $ 119 to $ 175, for the moment.  I hope this helps.

  • HP Pavilion s5704y: s5704y won't start, help

A friend has a s5704y and she said that she does not start. Went and I sterted it and got the blue screen of HP and he died with the monitor not saying no signal.

I replaced the CR2032 on the MB, because I saw that a dead battery will cause a no boot. At first startup, I got the blue screen then the back style info about type MB and available ram... etc then he went went beck to no signal.

On other restarts it happens to the blue HP screen and then go to no signal.

I have a hunch that it is feeding. I want to order one for her, unless it is necessary.

Can anyone confirm or give suggestions on what it might be?

I checked all connections and were ok.

    Thank you

    JBL

I brought her home computer and put it on another monitor. No change in the condition.

I run it with the side and these are comments:

On startup, I get the blue HP screen with start-up in SF and how to enter the bios. Screen turns off but the monitor status indicator (power button on the monitor initiative) stays green for about 3 seconds. He will then go yellow for less than a second and then show me the blue screen of the HP. This goes on and on.

The off side, the block of power SUPPLY, CPU and case fan all run. The led on the back of the PSU remains a steady green whenever I have the power cord is plugged.

In the bios, I have restored the default settings and did see that the HD and the CD-rom are recognized by the bios.

    F9 all past and ran.

It seems there is no power to the hd.

I tried to boot from a cd of back by changing the boot order of thet. I got something on the setting of the battery. and then asked if I wanted to boot from the hd and run win 7. I said yes and got the recovery screen of windows with the option of safe mode, safe mode with network down to operate normally. I chose normally and it started.

A reboot and then a cold start and it starts fine.

Don't know what it was that he hung to the top but it is now working well.

The only things I did were reset in the bios by default, change the boot order.

Any idea of what was in error for later use?

    Thank you

  • HP Pavilion dv5-1002nr

When problems come, they come in three. I was looking for some of my old chainsaw when I clicked on the picture of a Web site. After clicking, it took less than a minute, and the screen went black. The laptop remained under tension. Suspecting a virus, I turned off the laptop. I turned on the computer laptop back and it ran for about 3 minutes (with the dark sceen) when he stopped. I repeated this process again with the same results. Today I turned off our wi - fi router, then start the computer in safe MODE. I started scanning with McAfee, and when the analysis was approx. 3% completed, the stop of the laptop. I repeated this 2 more times with the same results. Now I'm about 90% sure I have a virus. My question is: I know not how to clean - erase the hard drive, but some of these viruses can hide in the startup routines. How can I check for it, and most important, get rid of? Any help would be great.

Sorry to not respond earlier, I was on a family holiday the week before last and did not work on it. I have problems with the disk program to kill. But first what I did. I burned the disc of the Ubuntu operating system and ran the office for approx. 1 hour without any picture "floating". Hope that this excludes the graphics card. Then I burned a CD with the program disk kill and loaded the program on the laptop. In the drive to kill pdf file. instructions, so we can talk bigger than that hard drive. 300 MB need a book of master created before clearing or HD record will help (is the correct hard drive size? Don't think that anyone who would do hard drives that small.) The only change when creating the MBR is the pdf. says «Start in Windows» The program would not allow it. The button is 'locked' on the 'Boot in the BACK. Now the problem, when I click on the program to kill diskette by using the installed program file, Windows asks if I give permission, then the program comes up with is multi-faceted and with a small box (in the foreground) saying "looking for devices"-during initialization. Then, the program stops running. From the moment of giving approval of the stop programme is better 4 to 5 seconds. Try different things, I have to Windows Defender disabled (Defender asked to be activated before seeking to check the status of programs for laptop). I also deleted the WIFI connection for the laptop. Sort of at a loss where to go, but what's interesting is the laptop remained running for 4-5 hours without any flutterting or stops in Normal Mode. Thinking that he is infected, just don't know how. McAfee has not detected the problems or the files because I replaced the hard drive. Thanks for your help.

  • Pavilion dv5-1002nr with Vista 32 bit

Using HP recovery disks, the laptop stops prematurely. The recovery has been launched due to problems of stability resulting in Vista does not. During part of the execution of the Recovery Manager, the error message occurred:

    STOP: c000021a {fatal system error}

The initial session process or the processes of the system ended unexpectedly with the lock status 0 x 00000000 (0 x 0000001 0x0010037c).

The system has been shut down. Any ideas? Vista is still on the hard drive?

    Hello

    To answer your questions.

    1. with regard to the hard drive, you are in no way limited to a given manufacturer, so it may be much cheaper to buy the disk from somewhere like Amazon.  According to Page 62 of your care Guide & your laptop can certainly take a 320 GB HARD drive, and once, if you wanted to, you could install a disk 7200 RPM if you want (you may lose a bit of autonomy, but hardly noticeable when on the other hand, the increase in performance).  I would stay away from Advanced Format hard drives but.

So to summarize, any 320 GB drive HARD Sata II (5400 RPM or 7200 RPM) will be fine--an example would be this drive.

    2. you can use your existing HP recovery disks to reinstall Vista on the new HARD drive - they will also reinstall all of the original software that came with your laptop as well as recreate the Partition on the new HARD drive recovery - a guide on the use of your set of recovery disks to install Vista on the new HARD drive is here.

    3. why the failure of the disk is impossible to tell without further analysis - the average life of a HARD drive lasts between 3-5 years but some fail much earlier while others last much longer.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

  • HP Pavilion g6-1145sg no longer starts.

    Hello

My HP Pavilion 1145sg g6 won't start, what should I do? It stops with the Windows 7 logo start, I tried everything, I even tried to explain with the instalation of Windows 7 DVD, but nothing has worked, at least I tried a "hard drive Self Test separator", and then he said: 'hard drive Quick (303) 1. What should I do? I've always guaranteed. I made pictures of the card/number, the laptop and the error message: click here for Photos. Here are the photos/PDF for the guarantee of 'things': click here for Photos (I found the warranty PDF on my second HP Pavilion g6-1145sg that I bought at the same time in the same shop online for my son). I hope you can help me, thank you in advance.

PS. the account is the name of my wife.

    Hello

303 error seems to indicate that the drive is defective and must be replaced - it is also compatible with startup problems you describe.

As your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP (the telephone number can be found on the corresponding link below) and arrange for the replaced disk.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

  • HP Pavilion Dv5 screen compatibility

I was wondering if I would be able to replace the screen of my HP Pavilion Dv5-1125nr with that of my HP Pavilion Dv5-1002nr model?

Recently, the display on my laptop turns off. The screen will be for a bit and then the backlight turns off but image will still be on the screen. Thinking that it was a problem with the inverter I ordered a new one and installed with the same results. Computer works with external projector so I think that the LEDs is bad. I have used the computer for more than a year and not to turn it off. Computer tends to overheat like most HPs.

As the screen on the HP Pavilion Dv5-1002nr works very well, it would be good to know if I could just spend it.

    Thank you

    Hello

    Try the following.

If you do not, use another PC to create a rescue CD Windows 7.  Download the ISO relevant among the links below - if you are unsure, your laptop is listed as coming from a 64-bit installation...

    Windows 7 32 bit

    Windows 7 64 bit

You must use an app like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn options) to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.

When creating, type following the ESC key as soon as you start the launch of the laptop Boot Menu, and then insert the rescue CD.  Select the Boot Menu options ( f9 ), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER.  You can also get a prompt to "Press any key to" continuous - it if requested.

Select the "Repair your computer" option and follow Option 2 in the guide on the link below to run the Startup Repair - you may need to run this 2 or 3 times.

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/668-system-recovery-options.html

If the above does not help, take note of any error message you get during the procedure and include them with your next post.

Disconnected from the motherboard except course before directed ps button and the cpu fan has become much brighter, but that's all that happened. Any suggestions on what to check? Checked with VOM push and he seemed to agree. Replaced the MB with the new Board of Directors, that didn't work either. Don't know if it was any good, it was a store Bulletin Board.

All the indicators you mention leads to the PSU, not the Board of Directors.
