I don't think that it is possible to change the graphics card in your laptop because it is specifically designed for your model rather than a generic type that is used in a desktop PC.

However, it should be possible to change the assignment of the RAM up to a maximum of 64 Mb. check in the view "Advanced" available from the control panel settings, or you can also check in your BIOS to a UMA value (16 MB, 32 MB and 64 MB should be supported).

  • [p7-1240] How can I find out what graphics cards will work with my motherboard?

I recently went through the nightmare of trying to install a Gigabyte GTX 650 in my PC. After a few days of struggle and scouring the internet for answers, I discovered that it is not compatible with the BIOS on my motherboard, and HP does not update the BIOS. I returned the card and is now seeking a new, but I'm not sure what card works now, since my computer meet the requirements of system for the graphics card and it stil ldid does not work. Because the GPU manufacturers do not list the specifications of the BIOS under system requirements, how can I know if a graphics card will work with my system?

My computer is a p7-1240 with a 520W PSU upgrade and approximeately 11 "of space to install the card.

    Thexn, welcome to the forum.

The problem is a lot of video cards latest require the computer to have a complete UEFI BIOS.  HP began using one in mid-October 2012.  Before that date, the BIOS is the legacy.  This is why the video card does not work with your computer.

I don't know what you would spend on a card, but MSI is a GTX 750ti which is a VBIOS hybrid.  It has a switch to change to inheritance or UEFI.  Is there a video link directly below the image of a card.  Paul of Newegg gives a complete description of the map.

I like the best EVGA cards.  Their Support gave me a lot of information on their cards.  However, you will need to return to a GT 640 map to find one of their cards that does not require the UEFI BIOS.  They have a few updates for their BIOS' are which solves the problem, but we must call them for accurate maps.

  • HP Pavilion 500-130DE: HP Pavilion 500-130DE do not see the graphics card in windows and can not change the primary graphics card.

So I got a new (TG 640) graphics card for my pc. I tested it on another computer the day before. Worked well. I plugged my HP Pavilion 500-130DE and started. I changed my slot onboard DVI cable to the GT 640 and cable says no signal. While the pc was still on I switched the cable back to the integrated graphical location motherboard and got the windows login screen. So I thought that BIOS yet configured when the integrated graphics card (Intel HD 4600). I turned off the pc and booted to BIOS. But I've never seen a such limited BIOS before! Only thing you change is boot order. I saw a tab advanced but could not find the settings that I needed. In the only device manager devices that appears is the HD 4600. So I checked power is 300W should be sufficient for a map of 75W (only need the PCI for power). Someone knows how to fix this?

Basically, it's one of those things "If you have accidentally activated the computer." It is only the biggest annoyance of since I was "keep" my computer after putting out of fashion 'sleep'. • How can I find out which graphics card I have?

I bought a HP ENVY h8 - 1440t a little over a year.  Now I want another similar computer from HP, but I can't find what graphics card I have.  Cannot find the documents.  Checked on the HP site for specifications, but I find everything BUT that.

  • How can I restore my nvidia graphics card settings?

HP G6000 laptop / Windows Vista 32 bit

I think I did a stupid thing and set my chart on two monitors in Control Panel. Now when I log on the screen on my laptop turns off just after looking up (sometimes the office shows just just before deletion) so I can't change this back. I am able to run the laptop using graphics native but want to re view - put the nvidia card. I think I'd be able to see the desktop etc, if I had a second monitor but I have no one that has the right cable. Is there an easy way around that without using a second monitor?

Solved this problem by a stroke of luck.

I have reactivated the nvidia graphics (actually a restoration of hardware drivers Recovery Manager) and when re-load windows I got the usual black screen. However I noticed the key F4 was a symbol of the screen and when it has been activated (fn + f4 key) the display is back - I was then able to enter the Panel Nvidia and re - configure monitors for laptop only.

It's "RTFM" - the HP user guides call the f4 shortcut key "switch screen".

Quite obvious! The solution was there all the time, just waiting to be read!

Now all I have to do is try to get the sound working... but that's another topic of discussion, I think.

  • can I update my laptop graphics card

Hi I was just wondering if it is possible for me to update my laptop computer graphics card, like the one I have is an integrated intel hd and it's simply not enough good for games, I want to play

The laptop I have is hp Pavilion g6 and the model number is LS294EA #ABU with an i3m70 core of intel clocked at 2.4 GHz because I don't want to buy a completely new laptop, but if it comes to that I might have to

Basically, you can, with a cost, and I think that this cost can be more expensive than buying a new computer because you have to take into account:

    • New price of the card, and WHERE you can buy it because the laptop cards are not the same office maps. You can't buy any normal store,
    • Need new card system (can be),
    • Need new system of cooling because in general more powerful card pumps out more heat (you want more powerful card don't you?).
    • May need new power supply because your current diet is not suitbale for the card. (I ordered a machine with the Nvidia card and I need to order a 90W charger at the same time, not the normal charger 65W. They rejected just my order.)
    • Cost of the work.
    • Packages a lot, a lot of aspirin.

    I hope this helps.

  • My computer goes to sleep/hibernate in 3 min. when not used, how can I change the interval of time until this mode?

How to set the time it takes for my computer access mode standby, when I do not use it? Thank you.

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forums.

By default, your computer goes to sleep after a short period of inactivity to save power. To keep the computer awake longer, increase the sleep after setting.

To keep your computer awake longer

    1. open power Options by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking power Options .
    2. in the left pane, click change when the computer sleeps.
    3. in the change for the plan of the parameters in the page computer standby list, click the amount of time slot on battery or AC (or both) and then click Save changes.

  • How can I change my laptop PC screen to 1.SDM - X 93

My online window does not fill the entire screen 15 inches from my PC.  There is a margin at the top where I can see my desktop. There are a few windows where I don't see top and bottom at the same time.  I tried to change the resolution without success. In the window "change the look of your view", the readings display , 'Laptop' instead of the LCD screen, '1. SDM - X 93 ", which is what I think I need to get a resolution of 1280 x 1024. I want to use the setting recommended, but for my computer, not a mobile device.

    Hey AlethaPatricelli,

Take a look at the answer provided in the nets below the link to see if these measures in this case as well.

System Restore could not extract the file (C:\windows\$NtUninstalKB42823$\1421276145) the restore point. The restore point was damaged or has been removed during the restoration

I understand that you get an error message "C:\windows\$NtUninstalKB42823$\1421276145".

When you try to restart your computer.

I think that you have tried to run the system restore and everything by performing the above mentioned file system restore is not extracted from the restore point.

Therefore, in order to solve this problem, we can proceed with the following steps mentioned below:

    1. click on start

    2. click on run

    3. Type "cmd".

    4. right click on the command propmpt and click "Run as Administrator"

    5. click Yes on the pop-up window

    6 BACK windows open

7 type "sfc/scannow" and press enter

System File Checker now verifies the integrity of all protected files of the operating system on your computer.

    8. once it is done restart your computer

    9. check if the problem persists.

    10. If the problem persists, follow the steps 1 to 6

    11. then type sfc/scannow repair

    12. it will fix the problem.

Please perform the above steps hope it will solve the problem. I recommend you to perform above steps in safe mode with network.
