    Hello

This error message is referring to the failure of hard drive and if your computer is under warranty, call HP Technical Support and they will replace the hard drive for free. If you are considering buying in a local store, then you will need to purchase the HP recovery disk to reinstall the operating system.

  • Video card (and others) upgrades for a HP Pavilion Elite HPE-510 t

Hello... First of all, I just want to say that these forums have been an invaluable resource for me in my quest to upgrade my current PC. A lot of good answers and always at the top of the Google search results, you guys have been so super helpful. Without a doubt a very different experience from what I got when I bought my PC from a company that rhymes with 'hell '.

I have a few specific questions, however, and thought I'd throw them to let experts weigh... For the record, I have a HP Pavilion Elite HPE - 510 t with all parts except for the video card, which is currently an ATI over-pants v4800. I am running three monitors 20 "(1 DVI and Display Port 2 at present, but who can be flexible). Also, I don't a few moderate games (FPS, MMO) and watch a lot of Netflix...

    1. I'm certainly looking to update my video card, but I do not know what actually fits. I'm ready to upgrade the PSU as well (probably to the Corsair CX-600 recommended elsewhere on this forum), so power should not be a problem. And money is not a huge problem either, as long as the card is less than $500 or more. I've been watching some of the newer cards (like a 680 GTX or even the new 770), but I'm afraid that they will not physically fit in the case, or will be not compatible with the motherboard (which seems to be the PCIe 1.0? Or I read wrong?). So basically, my ultimate question is: what is the best possible graphics card given my case current and potentially put to level power supply, motherboard, I could use? If it's important, SLI is feasible but not more.

    2. I also intend to add additional RAM. The page on the card to my PC to the HP support Site says it takes DDR3 1600 PC3 10600, but everything that I find these days in the RAM is DDR 3 1600 PC3 12800. My mother/PC card will support the 12800 or do I have to keep hunting to find 10600 sticks?

    3. and finally, I'll also put in a Pro 840 Samsung SSD. Do you know if the motherboard compatible with the SATA connectors suitable for speeds of 6 GB? Just plug page says "SATA" and does not specify a version.

Any help you could give me on these questions would be greatly appreciated. This computer has served me well for a few years now, and I'm hoping to keep it for a few more years. Thanks in advance and have a nice day...

Here are the specifications of plant origin and configurable options for your desktop HP Pavilion Elite HPE - 510 t CTO and here are the specs of his card mother IPISB-CH (Cleveland). According to the specifications, the motherboard uses the Chipset Intel H67 Express that supports an extension v2.0 x 16 PCIe and 3Gbs SATAII (SATA2).

    (1) SLI is not "feasible", so no need to go there. GeForce GTX 680 cards are going to be long, perhaps too long. You need to measure the space available at the back of the case more further along the x 16 PCIe slot to determine what can be installed. You will need to resign it a notch or two... until you find one that matches. The CX600 Corsair is a great choice and fits, even if you can buy the place CX600M. The CX600M is modular and allows much better management of the cables and so the potential for a better air circulation.

    (2) with regard to memory, the State of the plug;

    Four DIMM DDR3 240-pin connectors
    Supports the PC3 10600 connectors DIMM DDR3 (1333 MHz)
    Memory non - ECC, unbuffered

Then, two sets of most of these (2 x 4 GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Kits should do the trick. You can also go to the website Crucial.com and use two of their 'guaranteed compatible memory upgrade'.

    (3) your computer supports speeds SATAII (3Gbs) and this is the best it will do. However, the SATA connector is identical to what is found on a SSD SATAIII and it should be compatible with your computer.

    Please send BRAVO

  • HP Pavilion Elite HPE-510 t - two monitors?

    Hello forum!

For work I'll put up a brand new, out-of-the-box, desktop Pavilion Elite HPE - 510 t series, and I'm supposed to put up with two monitors. The monitors are both monitors HP 21 "(not sure model number, but pretty sure this info is irrelevant.) Both monitors have a DVI and a VGA output each.

The problem is... I don't know if the computer can get out to two monitors. I mean, I think it can its such a new computer and the plug about it being very respectable. But at the back of the system, the only entries that I see are:

    1 HDMI

    1 DVI

assortment of 6 audio inputs (speaker, microphone, etc.).

    1 Ethernet

    4 USB PORTS

    and something audio optical

But there is also what appears to be two locations that are "closed" for lack of another word. One is what appears to be a DVI input but with a screwed in black plastic piece. I guess I should remove the plastic and it would be an another DVI but on the plastic was the words "DO NOT REMOVE" so I left alone. The other location is what seems to be a HDMI slot with a black piece of plastic glued to the front.

The computer is capable of ouputting to two monitors?

    and

    What are those waterproof slots?

Good luck with your responses and thanks in advance,

    Rose_Parade

rose_parade wrote: there is a second DVI input or a VGA at least that I can see.

There's a HMDI.  Use a HMDI on DVI connector.  Not very expensive.  Make sure you have the right sex on each end or cable/connector.  See the Big Dave det-related article it upward.

due to the diablo 3. I updated graphic setting the lowest. FPS is between 15-22 so I'm interested in upgrading my power supply HP Pavilion Elite HPE - 510 t(specs are above) and graphics card with the following, respectively:

GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 1 GB 256-bit GDDR5

    GPU size: 9 "x 4.4"

Power supply: Antec High Current Gamer HCG-750 750W Series

    "Power supply Dimensions: 7.1"x 5.9"x 3.4"

I wonder if these prodcuts will enter the computer, as is or if I should look for other products.

    Thank you

The ASUS GTX 560 should adapt and work very well. The Antec PSU is great and very likely to have problems in the space provided. It can interfere with connections to the motherboard and push against the CD/DVD discs. Please look at the Corsair CX600 instead. It is only slightly larger than the block of power SUPPLY HP stock and is known to adapt.

  • Pavilion Elite HPE 450 t PC: desktop computer will not be updated for windows 7 64, Microsoft tried without success.

I have a PC Pavilion Elite HPE 450 t, and a few months ago he ceased to accept automatic updates from Microsoft downloads.

I tried to use the tools that Microsoft has nothing helped.

Some time after, my Norton Security software security suite failed and wouldn't charge.  Norton failed to find a solution.  I guess it must do something with the heavy backlog of unloaded updates.

? Is it possible to load windows 10 on win 7?

I got my PC tested for viruses, root kits and it is clean, but updates are still not loading.

Honestly, I'd appreciate any help that you folk can provide.  Thanks in advance

    Hi there @LROSZKOW,

I hope you find your experience of positive Support Forum! It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that you have had problems with the updates of Windows and want to know if you can upgrade to Windows 10. I'm happy to help you with this.

Reading the questions you have described in your current system that you cannot upgrade to Windows 10, using the normal method of free upgrade. Your system should have the option available from a previous update of Windows, as the free update is delivered via Windows update. If you have a Windows 7 or 8.1 product key, then you could do a clean install of Windows 10 and use this key to activate your Windows 10 free documents. Of course, you want to first make a backup of your data.

Another option would be to try to load the original image from the desktop computer, and then try to update again by using Windows Update. This assumes you have a working recovery partition or recovery media. Computers HP - performing a recovery of system HP (Windows 7)  But to protect your data, you want to make a first backup as I mentioned.

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • Office Pavilion Elite HPE message: AMD/ATI Video Driver has stopped working properly

I have a Windows 7 Desktop HPE-410y, this morning, that the flag of the action center was at the bottom of the screen.  I clicked on it and there was a message: AMD/ATI Video Driver has stopped working properly.  He also said I should click on a link for a solution to this problem, but of course when I made the site of HP said that the page does not exist.

Maybe say if you have in fact noticed nothing else Action Center indicator would be useful.  If it seems to you that the computer was OK and run satisfactorly, then perhaps he had already solved the problem.  Usually reviews can occur if a program did unexpected things and crashed the video driver, then the driver recovered.

HP site can be set to an old page.  The real driver has not been updated recently on the HP site.

  • TS140 optical drive drivers not available for download?

Try to install Windows 7 on TS140. Support/drivers page offers the sunix as a driver for the storage Extender. Have expanded on a portable player. Win 7 install almost immediately calls for drivers for the optical drive, but when I browse to the INF folder, it does not have the appropriate drivers. Am not finding any drivers for storage devices support/download.

Can someone point me in the right direction? TIA.

Finally, I whipped this problem using a laptop optical drive (usb) for installation. Once the installation has been made, I brought the network via USB key drivers. Once the network was functional, the rest of the drivers became available via Windows update. It took about 24 hours, given that Microsoft takes control of updates.

  • HP Pavilion Elite HPE-180 t CTO: multimedia card reader does not work

The provided HP 6-in-1 multimedia card on the upper drive before the computer has stopped working. This computer is running the Microsoft 64 - bit Windows 7 home premium, I can't find any information on the card or drive driver on HP or sites in the HP user guides. I had to buy a support external USB, card reader to import photos from the cards. Do you have an idea where to find a driver or how to re - turn on the card reader? He simply stopped communicating. What can be done to make it work again?

Go back to a restore point is not a viable solution. There are too many updates on this computer because the problem occurred. In addition, returning to a previous restore point does not solve the problem. I continued my research and found the solution on the Microsoft support forum.

Step 1, uninstall the 'readers' listed under MOBILE DEVICES.

They all have an error "this device cannot start Code 10".

    Restart the computer.

Plug a carf Compact Flash and Device Manager reports:

"WPD filesystem Volume driver does not (code 10)".

With a card in the reader:
    Select START > > > right click COMPUTER > > > select Manage
    Under STORAGE select DISK MANAGEMENT
Flash cards will appear in the middle like a FAT Partition window in good health
    Right-click next to the icon
Select the paths AND the CHANGE of DRIVE LETTER access
    Select Add
Select the radio button OK (assign a new drive letter or path)

Windows will automatically assign a new drive letter
    Click OK
    Close computer management

The computer will recognize the Compact Flash, SD, etc and you can select what you want to do (such as open in the file manager).

    Restart the computer.

Connect a Compact Flash or SD card.

The system will recognize the card.

If it is not the case, repeat the procedure for this type of card management.

    This solution really works.

I just bought a hard drive 3 TB to my HP Pavilion Elite HPE - 480t CTO and he only sees a drive 746,52 GB under Windows 7 pro 64 bit. My main drive is a 1.5 to and he sees very well. where can I find an update of the BIOS using the new drive? I have been to the page "downloads of software and the driver" and it does not list one. Am I out of luck?

When I ran Paragon booted from a USB stick to copy my 1.5 TB drive it given the disk as a disk of 2.7 to so I think the bios is seening it?

EDIT: The Intel rapid storage technology software sees as 2 862 TB, but windows doesn't see 746,52 GB.

    Thank you

    Solved!

Update card mother sata drivers and program "Fast storage Intel technology" and it now works fine.

Went to ma-configdotcom and ran their detection app and it recommended JMB36X_WinDrv_R1.17.65_WHQL_eSATA.zip of JMicron and Intel's SetupRST.exe. I ran both, restarted the computer and viola! He works and see all the new drive.  I hope this helps someone else.

I have a desktop HP Pavilion Elite HPE-400z running Windows 7 (64), my computer was working fine, however I thought that I needed to update the drivers and things from the HP website.

The first thing I installed was the following: H - RS880 - Μatx Motherboard BIOS Update

That restarted immediately frozen mouse on a black screen. When I turn on the computer the lights and the fan turns on but the screen remains black. Their is nothing wrong with the monitor, it's light is on, but when turn light it just says: "monitor going to sleep".

I went through these troubleshooting pages: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-Elite-HPE-Desktop-PC-series/4269972/model/4300925/do...

    without success.

Any other suggestions of what I could do to fix this?

    Hello

Disconnect the PC and press and hold power for 30 seconds. Remove and replace the battery CMOS. It's a $4 item. Now let's see what happens. If no joy, then try the steps above once again.

If your PC support has been changed or modified then put it back in its original state.

  • Pavilion Elite HPE-170 t: problem with the new HP DH16D5S DVD ROM drive

My office is a HP Pavilion Elite HPE-170 t.  I recently upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10.  I have two HP optical dirives, one is a writer, and the other is just a DVD ROM  Both have always worked perfectly with Windows 7.  After you have installed Windows 10 continuous burner work very well works correctly with autoplay.  However, the DVD - ROM, HP DH16D5S, immediately began using autoplay.  Actually the drive was not yet recognized as a drive when you view the drives in the file Explorer.  Finally, it would seem, sometimes taking also longer than 5 minutes or more before doing so and then would work very well.  I tried different types of media, including music CD, DVD video and DVD software with the same results.  I assumed that it was a problem with the drive, maybe a bad capacitor, etc., which was originally not start correctly.  So I ordered a new DH160D5S, but which seems to have been a waste of time and money, because it does exactly the same thing as the original.  I even changed the cables autour between it and the burner, but it made no difference.  The burner still works fine but not DVD ROM.  I tried to find a more recent driver for it, but had no chance.  I found on a Dell website for this drive which was an update of the firmware for Windows Vista and Windows 7, but not for Windows 10.  I advanced and downloaded, but when I tried to run, I got the message: "your system does not meet the minimum requirements for this update.  Update has been canceled. »

I want to try a different brand of DVD ROM, but would have to buy one without knowing if it would help.

    Any help will be appreciated.

Since I posted this message I discovered that there is a driver problem with this DVD ROM.  There's no driver available yet to make the drive compatible with Windows 10.  Since then, I returned the drive and replaced by another brand that is compatible with Windows 10.

I want to add a second hard drive for my Pavilion Elite HPE 410f. Recommendations?  Somewhere in the 320 to 500 GB range and I want a quick unit because it will be used for rendering videos.    Thank you for your response.

    Hello

How fast is fast is the real question.

Have you looked at hybrid drives OCZ? Expensive but probably the fastest option.

Seagate also made a hybrid hard drive.  Good price... You will need a 3.5 "to 2.5" support if the player does not support.  If you install the drive in an empty optical Bay then you will need a 5.25 "to 2.5" support.

Your other choice is 7 200 or 10 000 rpm traditional hard drives.

Another option would be to add a PCI sata and two external hard dirves configured in RAID 0.
