HP Pavilion Elite m9500: what is this mysterious grey thread?

Howdy!

So it's kind of embarassaing, but some time ago, my graphics card died and in my quest to replace, I accidentally broke my dektop off top cover (which, of course, you aren't supposed to do. I didn't know at the time where I could just slide the side panel). In doing so, I tore a small gray wire. I have the sinking suspicion that the son may have something to do with my network wireless adapter antenna, especially since now my poor dekstop can't find wireless networks.

If anyone has any idea if that thread is part of the adapter? It hangs around in a box of fly in the upper right of the machine (at the top right when you have removed the side panel and interested in the computer laid flat on the ground) and unfortunately, don't you know? This box is the only element not considered by the service and upgrade to the HP Web site guide. So I don't know yet what this box is for / contains and how to remove it safely if I can try to understand if there is a way to remove and re - solder the wire.

Any idea, that all would be much appreciated!

Hello

It seems that HP has omitted documentation on the models of m95xx showing what lies under the top cover.

Since you said that your wireless network is more work then I suspect that the gray wire is supposed to be attached to one of the antenna, editing posts which is located under the top cover. Similar models have two silver L shaped brackets under the top cover. Everyone must have a wire attached to it.  The pictures below should be similar for your PC.

If the above does not match that of your PC, then the two sons of the wireless module will rise permanently on the underside of the top cover (buffer technology). In this case, you would very carefully, remove the top cover and find where the gray wire connects. You may have to connect return wire.

  • What is this mystery?

I want to put one of them in a program, as I write, but for the life of me I don't remember what it's called (or its location in the Panel).

I lured him in memory in MS Paint and how it is wired, although I can't remember if it sends a Boolean true/false or if it sends the value.

It stores a value into the memory of the control that it is wired.  If the value does not change, it does nothing (or sends a constant false).  If the value does not change, it sends the new value (or a real constant).

On reflection, I'm sure he sends Boolean values, although I do not see in the Boolean tab.

  • HP Pavilion Elite e9120f homemade my hotter than the Sun (first tl; dr material)

Well Yes, I'm baaaaack with another question regarding the Pavilion Elite e9120f.

This problem doesn't become apparent only a few weeks ago, when the outside temperature decided to jump the 20 degrees or more.

My CPU runs very hot and I'm very worried.

A nice cool day like today its IDLE at 56 degrees Celsius. On a hot day its 58-61 Celsius.

It sucks for me because I do very high definition youtube videos and fitness puts them all 4 cores of default of the e9120f CPU, the AMD Phenom II X 4 910 dependents from 98 to 100 percent (in turn calls the temp to never bet greater than 65 degrees, during which the cpu fan goes supersayan and makes the room vibrates with the sound of a Jet engine that is not much, only keep the temperature constant, it don't cool does not desperately).

First: get a temporary monitoring program that works with this terribly designed motherboard is hard; SpeedFan, cpu - z, nothing works except Core Temp v0.99.6 that works very well. (It is worth mentioning that the bios of the motherboard comes with does not any overclocking of any kind, whatsoever, and if you mention same fan control it is falling apart.)

I found a number of things:

The fan on the top of the radiator may be upside

There is very little air flow in the case

There is no empty fan on the motherboard connector (photo, page layout sketch)

So I need to ask some questions to the base time down to a reasonable temperature.

    So:

The CPU on the top of the radiator fan. It is supposed to blow air down on the radiator or suck air through it? (Blow into the case or suck case, blowing on the radiator).

IF, for example, the seal of filth gray (sorry for the noob, I don't know what this kind of things question) which normally resides between the radiator and the processor itself was broken somehow, that would be the problem? (I had to remove so that I could lift several tons of dust in the trash, he was released and seems to work fine for a while until now).

If the gray dirt is the cause, how do I fix/replace it?

If it's not and it turns out that I need a new cpu fan/radiator, I could get suggestions for under $ 80?

    And would work this configuration:

fan case normal cover, connected to a plug. Corsair H-50 attached to the CPU, using Connector CPU fan for the pump (pump uses a 3-pin cpu fan connector, which is what uses the mother Violet3 in the e9120f), change the case so the fan and radiator are attached to the area of practice 120 mm perforated on the case, and this is where is Gets a bit tricky : using a spare molex 4pin to PSU and converter who is actually making a 3Pin fan and this connector 3 connector case pin case fan, use another converter (I've SEEN ONE but I can't find the link more) convert the fan 3 pins to a contraption of connector 4pin case fan. I also ask if there is an easier way to put it in place but I can't find anything that converts a molex 4-pin PSU to this type of plug:

I appreciate for any help. This pocket of plasma burning in my cpu MUST END NOW! LOL tl; Dr

It should not be too much a problem with a 3 pin to 4 pin Just make you line insertion slots.

Optionally, you could add as a case fan or change the power supply. HP power supplies have very small fans and the area of total air flow (grid holes) is also low.

Thermal paste is gray grime. You need more than a slim gain of dab of thermal paste rice spread.  Insofar the processor coolers to go, you will need to do some measure the width and the height.  The Corsair and Thermaltake make a lot of CPU coolers.

  • Upgading A Pavilion Elite HPE hard drive

First off let me thank the guy who responds to this advance. It may be a few days before I have the chance again. Sometimes the unknown Warrior keyboard deserves a bit more then they get lol. So, thank you.

I have a HP Pavilion Elite HPE. I just took my first slap to upgrade certain hardware and now I have a FEVER. I should have noted some things while I was there, but I was a little excited to get it working again. I noticed a few differences in my template to the list for the Pavilion Elite HPE, I found this site, but I should be able to answer your questions with a quick glance to see if it's right. HP presents my motherboard as "MS-7613 (lona-GL8E)" but I'm sure that my Board is a Foxconn version 1.01 Aloe with a 3.0 GHz AMD Phenom II x 4 processor.

Then. Here's my question, can I put my 1 TB harddrive to two 2 TB drives? And you have any recommendations on which hard drive I use? I'm new at this and so I don't know I might miss information on this for you, but I think I can answer your questions on hard/software that I use.

  • HP Pavilion Elite HPE - 532 s: 'Secure Boot Configuration' not found?

Hello support, I wanted to disable startup secure for my office.
I have a pavilion Elite HPE - 532 s Bios 7.15 I followed the step of many posts, but I don't have it under the heading "security"?
    I am on window 10 64-bit UEFI.
I wanted to disable, because I have a new GTX 960 graphics card and it stuck on the HP logo at startup all the time when I use the new card. !!

I tried to disable the security slot, but no matter what I do I get a black screen for my card both old and new so I have to reset the bios settings.
    Help me please.

    Thanks for the additional information.

    Here is my diagnosis/notice:

I don't think you'll be able to get the GTX 960 to work with this system.

Why it won't work in the UEFI/GPT:

It will not work in the UEFI [I think] 960 GTX is one card of UEFI and you must disable secure boot to make it work. Your BIOS is only "UEFI compatible" originally planned for Windows 7 [which does not support secure boot]. If you are unable to disable the secure startup, you can not use this card.

Why it won't work in legacy/MBR:

It won't work in legacy because it's a single card of UEFI.

    My suggestion:

Return to the legacy/MBR and use a graphics card that has a dual BIOS BIOS/hybrid or one who supports in particular the Legacy BIOS as described in one of my previous posts.

    Some other things to consider:

You PSU has enough power for this card? I think it takes a minimum of 400W PSU.

You connect the auxiliary power connector?

Have you tried to disable "Intergrated Graphics" in the BIOS [as appropriate]

  • HP Pavilion Elite M9080N Nvidia 8800GTS WIN7 64-bit display problem

Help! I have a HP pavilion elite m9080n with a video card from nvidia 8800GTS installed. Recently, I noticed that when you browse Web pages parts of the page will not render properly (I have attached a screenshot in which I circled the problematic area). It's like the area is transparent and colors are not properly or to its full opacity. I have swapped with a different video card to see if that would fix the problem but it's the same thing with the current map and the replacement of the card. I also tested to see if it is the monitor using 3 different screens and it's the same result. I'm trying to understand what could be the problem. I advanced and ordered a motherboard thinking it could be something to do with the motherboard. Need help please, any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

Can you explain your other post regarding this post?

Try a few different video cables and do not use adapters.

  • Pavilion elite m9255uk: damaged wiring antenna Office

Main problem is that the PC won't start, thinking that perhaps it would be mobo.  Yes I know it's old but it's my favorite. Thus, three questions

    1ST QUARTER

The PC Pavilion Elite has a built-in wireless antenna for the management of wireless LAN 802.11 b/g. I just ran my fingers on the thread that connects the card/adapter inside the 'roof' and the coating of the wire is cracked near the 'roof' of the pc.  He has obviously been pinched or rubs against something, could that have damaged the mobo if the stripped part had made contact with the case?  If this isn't the case, it would be prudent to cover the part damaged this wiring with insulation tape?

    Q2

Otherwise, could remove the card/adapter and wiring and do not use wireless, what would be the consequences of this?

    Q3

After that the cracked wire issue is sorted, I'll have to do some work of elimination on the problem of no initialization.  What are the sons of "skeleton" that should be left connected to the mobo to start upward? (please let me know if you want this bit of my questions posted elsewhere and I'll re)

With this damaged wiring, I doubt it will be problem except playing havoc with wireless reception.  Stick the broken insulation should be fine, as long as the wire is OK.

  • Pavilion Elite HPE-570f: update Bios

    Prod. BV542AA #ABA

Recently upgraded to Windows 10 (64 bit) to Windows 7.

The Bios is older than 5 years. is it possible to upgrade?

What I've read, HP uses modified BIOS, not those generally available on the motherboard manufacturers websites, even IF you can find your Board on the website of the Board manufacturer. The only "safe" to install BIOS would be those that HP show for download on their Web page to your computer, in your case this page is:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-elite-HPE-desktop-PC-series/5035344/model/5061025#Z7_3054ICK0KGTE30AQO5O3KA30R1

and I don't see any update of the BIOS listed so far.  In my case, with my computer, they did an update that appeared shortly after my purchase.

  • Request help second addition, internal hard drive [HP Pavilion Elite e9290f]

    Hello

Quick question here. I am a music producer and you can always use a ton of extra space as some of my projects are 17 to 20 GB in size. My HP e9290f comes with a stock of 1 TB Seagate (I think) internal hard drive. I intend to add this DeckStar HGST hard 4 TB (7200 RPM)

However, I am not sure, if this drive is compatible with my computer. I talked about the upgrade & maintenance manual but inside, he tells me only how to replace the current internal hard drive. The addition of this amount of space external hard drive is not an option since all my ports are used by external hard drive! Can anyone shed light on what tools I need exactly to connect this HD extra 4TB? I would appreciate your answers, because time is of the essence

    Hello

I have not tested a HDD 4 TB on the motherboard of truckee. In theory, it should work as a data reader set shaped like a GPT disk.

Another option if you don't want to take the risk is to install two hard drives of 2 TB. The one in the location empty in the cage from the hard drive and another in the optical drive Bay (if open) second.  You will need one 3.5 "to 5.25" adapter if you use the optical Bay.

Check on the return policy for the 4 TB harddrive and see if your can return/exchange it if it doesn't work.  Kit retail for Hitachi 4TB has an optional driver if the motherboard of your PC will not format the drive completely outside up to 4 TB.
