HP Pavilion - model 15-e078ea: Support HP

My laptop has been updated to Windows a few months ago 8.1 still not decided if I need Windows 10?

I bought my laptop in 2013 and have been turned off using HP Update Support.

For most this will seem very stupid but some people - like me - will find it terrifying to download something again, as always, something is happen to me here that I never started!

My laptop at the moment is covered for Microsoft Windows / Norton Security that automatically downloads and I always check if there are live updates from Norton before you go on the internet. That's all, apart from having a cleaning schedule and Defrag.

Now I think it is all the time I've gritted my teeth in obtaining my software up to date to keep my laptop works well.

Question is as easy as people make? -I'm afraid I will be bombarded with a lot of things that will be verified and problems are that it will be overwhelming (gasp)

Thanks a lot for your help

I need to transfer all my docs, picutres & also get my favorites transferred.

Please help & also where I can get a step by stpe handyman.

    Thank you!

    Hello

    1. are you able to see data from your external hard drive from your old computer?

    2. are you able to detect the external hard drive with another computer?

    3. you receive an error code or message?

I suggest you to check if you can see the external hard drive in Windows Explorer.

Try to connect the external hard drive to another port and check the issue.

Check also if the external hard drive works fine in the other computer.

First: toshiba DOES not support any operating system server on their machines. You know the difference between a * LAPTOP * and a * SERVER *?

If you know where is the difference so you can answer yourself why toshiba gives no support in this sense.
The other point (to come to the technical part), is that you can probably install Windows Server 2003 on your computer. And you can search for drivers. But no one here could give you assistance, you´re completely on your on. (And NO, it has NO official connection :/)

Now, I want to go back to 8-64 bit windows.

Can I do? How can I have my windows license 8 original provided with the laptop when I bought it?

I did not go to a backup of the OS before decommissioning.

    Help, please.

    Hello @AnneDonato,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems, with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the recovery of Windows 8 and wanted to help you!

Your laptop came with the recovery of Windows 8 disc?  If Yes, then you can use that upgrade to Windows 8.  If the software is not included with the notebook, then the laptop comes with a recovery partition which has a picture of Windows 8.  You can try to use the system recovery to bring the laptop to its factory settings.  This is to reformat the entire hard disk and reinstall the original operating system:

HP computers - performing a recovery of system HP (Windows 7)

Keep in mind that if you have formatted the hard drive to install Windows 7, it is possible that your hard drive has more the recovery with Windows 8 image partition.  In this case, the only way to upgrade to Windows 8, would be with the Windows 8 install/restore disc.

Decommissioning of the OS. Is this fair?

    I will definitely help you.

HP has never tested model you PC for Windows 7.

After that, it is very difficult to find drivers for all the internal hardware components on your PC from HP for Windows 7.

Without a driver, most of the internal components will not work. It causes a lot of inconvenience to help you.

But again, it is your choice of switching between the operating system that you have the PC.

    Hope that helps.

  • HP Pavilion 1308ax UEFI g4 support?

    Hello!

I use HP Pavilion 1308ax g4 now with windows pro 8.1.  My laptop using Legacy boot and I want to format in UEFI mode but I don't know is my lapptop support UEFI mode? Please help me.

    Thank you

Please see on the Start Menu and UEFI more information about this.

Assuming that this model shipped before the release of Windows 8, 'Secure Boot' or 'Legacy Support' will appear on your BIOS. According to if the bootable media supports UEFI and/or Legacy boot, you will be able to select the type of installation. If you select a source of boot UEFI, you will only be able to install Windows on a GPT-partitioned drive. If you select a source of start-up Legacy, you will only be able to install Windows on an MBR partitioned drive.
