HP Pavilion notebook PC A7H25UA #ABC g6 hard disk failure

Hello

My laptop started with this error message: hard disk failure: Q0FAJ2 - 66 X 756-MFGK1F-60F803 and past Q0FAJ2-66X74H-MFGK1F - 60CT 03. I run the hard drive test and they both failed.

What can I do to solve the problem?

Thanks for help me!

You'll have to replace the hard drive. It is not as difficult as you might think. If you can do this:

    Hello

It all started when the computer would go blank right after startup, the HP logo would come upward, then 'auto repair preparation", more... Just empty. After reading the forums online, I did all the possible troubleshooting steps and at the end I did the SMART test... the result was:

    Verification of the processor: past

Intelligent control of hard disk: failure

    Failure ID: RGD7MK-7HV7RC-9XJ16K-60BB03

After obtaining these results, when I turn on the computer, it gives me a blue screen saying: drive SMART 1 error (301) and told me to test once again, that I did and got the same result as above.

Here is some info from the computer:

    Model: HP Pavilion slimline 400-434

    Processor type: pentium (R) of the Intel (R) J2900 @2. 41 GHz

    Hi there @Brugalgirl

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff. I understand that your computer does not start successfully, and you found a Smart Drive 301 error code. I'm happy to help you with this.

I checked the ID of the failure, you've posted and verifies that the error. Unfortunately, this means that your hard drive needs to be replaced.  In view of the fact that the system does not boot, it is likely that the hard drive is completely unreadable, but depending on what you have on this subject, it may be worth your while to check with a local computer service shop and see if they can help to recover data from your hard drive.

If your system is relatively new and may be covered by the warranty, or if you wish to fix with HP for the guarantee system, you can call in hotline to make these arrangements. In this case, please use the following http://www.hp.com/contacthp and create a folder for your question and contact HP. If you do not live in the United States / Canada, please click on the link below to get contact information for your region.

Otherwise you can look at a replacement hard drive yourself. If you have a set of recovery media, then you already have a factory image HP, which allows you to put in place a new hard drive with your original operating system. If is no longer, you have a set or did not have a set of recovery media, so you can see if there are not yet available for your model.

    Hello

I got a Smart disk error, and then I went through the hard drive test, finally got this code:

    GK0468-5AR712W-XD002K - 60A 203

    What should I do now?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Does that mean hard drive is faulty / failed.

Make your model have two hard drives, or is it only a configuration of hard disk?

You have to replace the failed with a new similar form factor.

Any notebook internal 9.5 mm good brand 2.5 inch SATA HDD would work.

If you are under warranty, HP will send you replacement free of charge.

You must use the recovery media after replacement, to restore factory settings.
If you do not, you have to order from HP in your area directly.

  • Pavilion t770.uk: ADDING a SECOND HARD DISK

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion t770.uk desktop PC. According to the manual, there is a dual Bay HARD drive space, which means that a second HDD can be mounted also on the original HARD disk. Data ATA series and power wires are there and there is space at the back of the HARD drive for an extra HARD drive cage, but he doesn't seem to be any fixing points to hold the HARD drive safely. HARD drive existing slots outside the cage and is held in place by a plastic locking support, but no such support or fixing holes are there for a second HDD. Can anyone help?

See pages 10-15 in this manual:

This shows how to add a second hard drive, with or without the cage.

  • HP Pavilion DV6 6053ea - SSD SATA III HARD disk? & HARD drive space gone?

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion DV6 6053ea. It works fairly well, but I think I have an SSD would really speed up the loading of programs and start etc. I'm not so sure that the upgrade. I read on a thread if I had Port SATA 1 6 Gbps Supported or SATA Port 0 6 Gbps then my cell phone was good for SATA III. Is this the case? Joined a program hwinfo32 image, can you check if my phone would support SATA III?

The other issue is my HD. My laptop says I have 750GB HD coming to about 700 GB after formatting. But my laptop seems to have only a total of 350 GB with all sectors added together. Where is the space?

    Hello

Yes, your laptop has 2 ports SATA 6 GB/s (SATA III) most likely the hard drive and an optical drive are connected on it. There are also 2 SATA 3Gbps ports but not in use, I guess.

The other issue is that there are 4 partitions but the partition 0 is strange and shouldn't be there. There should be a small boot for Windows partition (for BitLocker etc.), drive C: with Windows, D: drive with a partition recovery and partition Tools HP QuickWeb and some diagnostic utilities. It seems that the recovery partition is missing, the C: drive has been decreased and then created a small partition at the beginning of the hard disk. Take a look at disk management in administrative tools in the control panel this partitioning is on the hard drive.

    Hello:

Thanks for you immediate response.  I think your solution is the way to go.  So if I get the HP recovery USB and the new HD is installed, I have to change the boot order in the BIOS to make it work and in what order, if so.  Or do I plug in and turn on the machine and let it do it's thing?  Thank you for your time, which is very much appreciated.

You must enable secure in the BIOS first start and then turn on legacy mode get new material, working on the laptop. You can also change the order of boot on USB to boot from USB but I think that by pressing F12 or F10 shows you boot options fast without change anything whatsoever in the BIOS.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-1354us: HP dv6-1354us, hard disk Max

Hi, I need to replace the hard drive on my dv6-1354us. Does anyone know the side max from the hard drive, it can accept? Thank you.

The manual only tells you different sizes, HP offered from the factory. HP does not document a maximum size of hard disk for each system. SATA has no inherent limit of size as old IDE drives. Some desktop computers have trouble with 3 TB and more large drives ultra high density, but it's not a problem in laptops, where most current HARD drive size is 2 TB. 1 TB is the sweet spot right now in terms of price/capacity.

  • 'No' genuine copy of windows after a hard disk failure.

I have a 2 years old HP Pavilion G series and recently my hard drive has failed and could no longer boot to the top, so I bought a new hard drive and reinstalled windows using the drive of my friends and my original product key. (I don't have a disc of windows 7 because the computer did not come with one) Now, I get an error message that my copy is "not authentic" even if it's... What do I do?

Also, it did not help because there is no phone option...

' Try to activate again by phone:

    Activate Windows 7 manually:
    1. click on start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    2. press enter on your keyboard

    3. Select your country.
    4. Select the telephone activation option and brace yourself for a real person.

    "

And whenever I try to activate, I get an error...

    Thank you!

    Hi Paul,.

This problem may occur if you perform a hardware important change to your computer, such as upgrading the hard disk. If a major hardware change requires activating Windows again, you will advise and will have three days to activate your copy of Windows.

Another common cause of failed Windows validation occurs when you try to install Windows on more computers than your license allows. For example, if you have purchased a copy of Windows, installed on the PC more than one online validation may fail because the product key has already been used on another computer. Normally, the rule for most copies of Windows is that only one copy of Windows can be installed on a PC. Go to Microsoft Volume Licensing to learn what your license allows.
