HP PAVILION P001TX

I recently bought a HP Pavilion p001tx notebook PC and have faced because of its use for the 100% record and suspect win8.1 to be the root cause of which is pre-installed. I got 20 GB of space on my HARD disk reserved as a recovery partition.

I want to install win7 on my laptop... So my question is can I install win7 on drive c: remove win8.1 and then delivered to i.e., setting.win8.1 factory of my recovery partition any time in the future or I will face all the problems if trying to reset to factory of win7.

Please help me because this problem is really bogged down my sytem.

Hi @WhineySafe

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you plan to switch to windows 7, Windows 8.1 because you get 100% attention a use of the disk.

In response to your question about the recovery partition, as it is not erased or deleted you should be able to return to your installation at the factory. Of course, in the process, it will delete all data on the partition as part of the process, as it will make the original image.

Note, however, that the best course of action may be to seek why the hard drive is 100% usage.

This will often be the case when:

(1) immediately after the computer starts and services are loading (this may take up to 5 minutes depending on what all is loaded on startup)
(2) when you just start any application.
(3) when you run a hard as intensive process: virus scan/defrag/etc. in the background.

If it happens at other times then either:
(1) there is some unwanted programs running on your system (virus or malware)
(2) the drive is too slow (RPM spin, transfer speed, etc.)

You can try this and see if it helps:

    Dear HP,

I am former HP employee worked for many years and big fan of HP.

I bought the HP Pavilion P001tx in November 2014.

    question;

    1. can you exchange or upgrade from keypad with backlight one?

    2. can we exchange or upgrade the Normal Hard Disk 1 TB with SSHD 1 TB keyboard?

    WebCam is too dull...

    Thank you.

You misunderstand my role here. I do not work for HP and I'm not the order desk. I am a user final companions. The laptop has a program backup and restore installed where you can make the recovery discs or a USB key to reinstall the software factory on a new hard drive or SSD SSHD.

You will have to find a SSHD and will make install. HP does not offer that service and I also do not, of course. It can affect your warranty. If you let us know your country of residence, we can find a good deal on the parts you want.

  • Pavilion p001TX: lost Windows license key

I bought a pre-installed llicensed WIndows 8.1 compatible HP laptop. Recently I tried to dual-boot my laptop with Ubuntu 14.01 for educational purposes. By mistake I finished my whole hard drive, which meant that even the recovery folder wiped out formatting. I want to reinstall Windows 8.1 on my laptop, but I don't have my copy of original Windows license key. I bought the laptop to an authorized HP provider, but he says that the company does not provide a repair CD Windows. The license key is not located in the BIOS of the laptop, it is not yet available on any sticker on any external part of the laptop. What can I do to find the key licensing and re - activate my original Windows? Pease guide me.

    Hi @Rishi17 ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. It's a great site for information and questions. I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion Notebook 15-p001tx and problems with product activation Windows 8.

Here is a link to product activation Windows 8.

  • Pavilion P001tx: Buzzing sound shape right side of laptop

It is noticeable buzz kind of sounds coming from a straight middle part (from material inside keyboard) keyboard whenever I'm working on it, I notice this sound for 1 or 2 months but returned to the service center, a lot of work to do with it.

more: optical driver is nearby, where the sounds come from.

If you can hear the buzz by putting your ear down to the keyboard I suspect that something is wrong with your laptop. Hard disks have rotating discs in them. Anything with movement makes noise and unless there is a strong buzz, grinding or chirping things may very well.

If you think that it is not a sound safe, you must contact the hotline to discuss service options including where you can send the laptop.

  • Is it safe to Nvidia Drivers from the Nvidia site?

Hello. I have a HP Pavilion P001tx 15. The dedicated GPU is a Nvidia geforce 830M.

I want to know if it is safe to install the latest drivers for the gpu directly from the nvidia card as the drivers supplied by the OEM (HP) looks a bit outdated.

I normally install the latest drivers in my office from the site but I'm not sure to install the most recent drivers in the laptop or the stick to HP configuration.

The nvidia drivers are WHQL drivers so I guess that there will be no compatibility issues, but I still need a bit of advice.

    Hello

In fact, I use NVIDIA driver update on my Envy 17 loan and machine want to my wife. But installtion faild ready in a few days ago on this machine. I'll try the week next on my wife's machine. In short, you can try:

    (a) if faailed (not install): you expect a driver of HP,.

    (b) if does not work: you can always restore.

    If not... good.

    Kind regards.

    Hello @adityarai82,

Thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support! The forums are a great place where you can find solutions for your problems, with the help of the community!

I read your post about the WiFi problem and wanted to help you!  I understand that you have tried the troubleshooting steps a lot already, without success.

Try to review these steps, offered by community member @Great-Christine-Tree:

First of all, we have a step by step guide to guide you through the process of diagnosis here:
Troubleshooting your wireless network and Internet access

A second option is to try the following steps:
    Powercycle the network:
    1. turn off your laptop.
    2. unplug the power to your router.
    3. disconnect the power to your modem.
    4. wait at least 45 seconds.
5 reconnect the modem and wait for it to come back online.
6 plug in the router and wait for it to come back online.
    7. turn on your laptop and test your connection.

Turn off the power to the adapter:
    1. open Device Manager. (Win Key + R > type devmgmt.msc > OK)
    2. expand the network adapters.
    3. right click on the Ethernet adapter / wireless, and then click Properties.
    4. click on the power management tab.
5 remove the check mark next to allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
    6. click on OK.
    7 test cycle.

Reset the TCP/IP settings on your PC:
    1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
    2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.
    3. in the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without the quotes and press ENTER.
4 restart your PC and test.

It can also help to reset the winsock catalog:
    1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
    2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.
    3. in the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without the quotes, and then press ENTER.
4 restart your PC and test.

    Reinstall the NIC drivers:
    1. download the drivers from here , but do not run them again.
    2. go to your Start menu/screen and type Device Manager.
    3. expand network adapters.
    4. right click on the wireless adapter and choose uninstall.
5 install the drivers downloaded in step 1.
    6. restart your PC and test.

    Test an ethernet connection:
Explicit. Test if the problem persists on a wired connection to the adapter hardware troubleshooting wireless can be directed to the appropriate areas.

    Test another connection:
Many people excluded their home network as a problem if another device working on the same network. Networking is not as simple as that. Each device interacts differently with your router or modem and it is impossible to exclude the settings for this device until the laptop has been tested on another network.

If these steps do not resolve the problem, try this document published by Microsoft for network management issues: wired and wireless network problems. You can change the operating system with the drop-down list in the upper right of the document.

  • Pavilion 15-P001TX: RAM manually installed in the laptop

    Hello.

I have a laptop HP Pavilion 15 - P001TX, which has 4 GB of RAM, integrated into it. Recently I realized that for the purposes of my work, the 4 GB of RAM provided is not enough for me, so I want to buy another 4 GB of RAM and install it into my laptop, my 8GB memory total. In this regard, I have a few questions:

    1. can I install the RAM manually by opening the Panel of the laptop inside of myself? There are several slots of RAM for my laptop?

    2. doing so Will void my warranty?

    3. If my warranty will get Sub, can I buy a new RAM and ask the people of HP's service center to install it for me?

4 RAM which company will be more suitable for the model of my laptop?

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards

    Rishi.

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See pages 106-117 for the installation of the memory. It requires the removal of the motherboard and puts at risk the warranty.

On page 3, it shows that the Intel models have only a slot of memory. I think it's probably true for the lower end of Intel models and yours is an i5 so I think that yours has 2 slots memory I can't find documentation so you be sure had better assume she's a. So to have 8 concerts would require the purchase of a module of 8 GB.

    HP part number:

Module of memory of 8 GB 670034-005

    http://www.Amazon.com/HP-693374-001-1600MHz-PC3L-12800-memory/DP/B00G2F3I4W/ref=pd_sim_sbs_147_6?ie=UTF8&refRID=0F6ED1G94P46SD4A2NPS

Where do you live (single country) as this can impact your HP support options. I heard, in some countries, the Service Center will install memory that you buy from them if the laptop is still under warranty.
