HP pc hardware diagnostics uefi

I currently own a HP 700-074 model computer HP PC Diagnostics UEFI version 5.2.4.0 (rev.1). I check the support site HP monthly for driver and hardware updates and noticed an update for this program.

This may seem like I'm a little picky, but nobody knows what kind of corrections are available in the hardware of PC HP update the Diagnostics UEFI 5.3.4.0 (Rev. 1) published on 20/12/2013? What is a patch security, minor features/corrections or something else? I guess my question is what is a mandatory update or a recommended update? This program comes with a scoring change that documents what is updated? I'm pretty tired of updating my main hard drive (I don't want to screw up the UEFI boot sector and having to reinstall Windows 8) or Flash the BIOS, especially if its only for the minor bug fixes I can tolerate. All answers are appreciated. Thank you all for your time.

Hi boinc127, I don't have the log of changes from the last update, but if you have no special numbers its better to not be affected in the present case because it has a prittey complicated procedure to get this installed update, Adi.

The hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced. If you are still in warranty HP will send a replacement. If this is not the case, a laptop SATA hard detail can be used. Just be sure to get one of at least equal quality of the original in order to use recovery media to install the drivers/software/Windows on the new hard drive. It may be big, but not small ability more. For example if you have a 500 GB hard drive you can use a 750 GB hard drive, but not a 320 GB hard drive.

  • Uninstalling hp pc hardware diagnostics uefi

Hi, I have HP pavilion n010ek, I installed the pc hardware diagnostics uefi since section hp drivers in this site, everything worked, and a score is made as in the picture (HP_TOOLS f), unless I want to uninstall it but I couldn't find in the Control Panel, how can I uninstall the hp pc hardware diagnostics uefi?

    Hello

You can delete the HP_TOOLS partition as follows.

Hold down the Windows key and press R.  Type diskmgmt.msc and press ENTER.

In the lower pane (chart) showing the partitions, right-click the HP_TOOLS partition and select delete the Volume.

Once completed, this leaves an entry for "unallocated space".

You can then right-click on the C partition and select Extend Volume to add to the C partition unallocated space.

  • HP Pavilion 030ea-b: Hardware Diagnostics failure error

    Smart Check: spent

    Long DST: failure

    Failure ID: 0LG55D-000837-X87T1A - 618P 03

Please could someone tell me what is failure and how do I correct?

    Thank you very much

    Hi @23 - B030ea,.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  I understand that tests your cam drive upward with an error when you run the UEFI. I'm happy to give you a helping hand with this.

I checked the ID failed you posted and it gave me the error code SMART Drive from 305. Now if your hard drive still works for you, I highly recommend to make a backup of all the data that is important to you as soon as possible. A SMART test drive is usually a predictor of drive failure. It could happen today or in a few months, but rather than to risk of losing everything, it is best to take precautions.

See also this paper: HP laptops - Hard Drive failure errors: failure Imminent, Smart, BIOHD, HD535, etc.

Once your data is safely backed up, you should probably look at a replacement hard drive.

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • Partition HP_TOOLS after update from HP System Diagnostics (UEFI)?

    Hello

I bought a Compaq HP 6730 s about 2 and one and a half years. Last time I installed Windows was in 2009, when I switched to Win7 Pro x 64. I usually keep my system up to date so I decided to use HP Softpaq Download Manager to see what is new because I have not done in a year about. By updating HP System Diagnostics (UEFI) I noticed the installer to begin creating a new partition using DISKPART. It has 2 GB of E:\ and created a new partition HP_TOOLS (H:\).  First of all, was it really necessary given that I had only 3.5 GB of free space on E:\? In addition, the old version of HP System Diagnostics (UEFI) has not used a separate partition. Secondly: is it really necessary to keep or is the only partition something temporary created to facilitate the update process (although this makes no sense to me), meanning can I simply delete and merge into E:\.

Third: in the case where HP_TOOLS is not delete recomanded, at least hide by using the local Group Policy Editor?

    Thank you!

The latest version of the installer of HP System Diagnostics (UEFI) gives an option for installation on drive hard or on a USB flash drive according to your needs. I personally recommend not not to delete the partition HP_TOOLS as its useful during the process of updating the BIOS in case if you want to do a restore etc.

HP_TOOLS partition is also useful in F2 (the System Diagnostics) market in the case of any emergency if necessary.

  • Pavilion g6 2226tu: 'no hard drive installed' error in material diagnostics UEFI

My pc is very slow and freezing much n after troubleshooting and consulted technicians on the chat, I went to the recovery. It's everything is OK with recovery but the same problem was there. N all of a sudden today I tried to restart it when it froze, it showed a blue screen with the error 'blackout driver State' it displays information is collected to be sent as a report. After 10 minutes, it ended at 100%. N he tried to restart, but he went to gray white screen after the execution of the repair automatic FIR seconds. After five minutes of waiting, I turned it off n tried to turn on n check with hardware diagnostic uefi. But he could not detect my hard drive of 500g. Welcome to the jimbauerv forums,

I did some research for you, and I came across a thread the guy had exactly the same problem, but he had 4 cores (3 of which somereason were not active).

He showed that by removing the CMOS battery and put back in after 2-5 minutes. And the computer showed he had all 4 Active cores...

Another user who has sent by clicking Start--> Run--> type MSCONFIG--> Boot--> Advanced Options

If it is checked, uncheck 'Number of processors'. If not check it out and in the drop down list select 4 (according to the number of cores you have) and you're done.

  • Remove HP System Diagnostics UEFI

I installed HP System Diagnostics UEFI (SP52407) on my Elitebook 8530p running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit.

I want to uninstall this program if possible it's my failure of System Image backups.

The new partion created by this program is FAT 32 and Windows 7 will not save, NTFS only.

When I click on create new system image, it is said that the following drives will be saved:

    (C (System))

HP_tools (F (System) with no option to remove this.)  And if I chose my own thing same backup.

While I can uninstall it somehow? (does not appear in the programs) or should I delete just the partion?  Not sure if this will help to either.

    Hello pjamme,

Your EliteBook is a business model.  Your question would better answer on the HP Enterprise Business Community Forum

  • Hardware diagnostics

    Hello all :)

I am trying to run hardware test on DELL switch n2048 of CLI and the WEB, but I can't find that option.
Search in google without result. Have the latest firmware. Have a problem with this switch, but can't understand what the configuration or hardware

    Please help me.
    I thank you very much.

There is not an official diagnostic equipment that you can download and run on the switch. Here are some options that you can use to help monitor the switch.

-console # display system, this will show you the current state of the temperatures, power supplies and fans. This can be used to help search for some defective components. This can also be seen in the graphical interface under system > General > health.

-console # see logging, any time, an error occurs, including hardware errors, a log message is stored. This can also be seen in the graphical interface under system > Logs.

If logging is corrupted or has aged, then it will not show you the papers you need. And if everything is back to normal, then the show system command can be useful right now. To contribute to monitoring the switches, it may be useful to set up a syslog server. Page 369 of the user guide contains information about setting up a syslog server.

Can someone tell me how I would do it on this one? Thank you in advance.

Tap away at the esc you key start Notepad to open the Start Menu.  From there you should be able to select the Menu of diagnosis ( f2 ).

  • After the automatic running Hardware Diagnostics, I lost my sound. That happened 3 years ago, but can not remember what to activate the sound.

After an automatic run "Material of Tests of diagnosis" and at the output of the program, I lost the sound on the computer. This happened to me 3 years ago when I had just bought computer and I took it to the Greek Squad. It was just something that was muted and I don't remember how to get to the appropriate window to correct.

I fixed it myself and I don't know how. Thank you for allowing me to post here. Best wishes.
