Pavilion 17-f010us: Hardware Diagnostics

I have a Pavilion 17-f010us running Windows 10. I want to run a diagnostic equipment on it, but can't seem to figure out how. On older models running Windows 7 and below, I used to be asked to press a specail over powering (ESC or F10, etc.) who could take me to a boot menu where I could enter the BIOS or run a diag utility. Can someone tell me how I would do it on this one? Thank you in advance.

Hello

Stop of the laptop.

Tap away at the esc you key start Notepad to open the Start Menu.  From there you should be able to select the Menu of diagnosis ( f2 ).

Kind regards

    Hi @23 - B030ea,.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  I understand that tests your cam drive upward with an error when you run the UEFI. I'm happy to give you a helping hand with this.

I checked the ID failed you posted and it gave me the error code SMART Drive from 305. Now if your hard drive still works for you, I highly recommend to make a backup of all the data that is important to you as soon as possible. A SMART test drive is usually a predictor of drive failure. It could happen today or in a few months, but rather than to risk of losing everything, it is best to take precautions.

See also this paper: HP laptops - Hard Drive failure errors: failure Imminent, Smart, BIOHD, HD535, etc.

Once your data is safely backed up, you should probably look at a replacement hard drive.

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

The hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced. If you are still in warranty HP will send a replacement. If this is not the case, a laptop SATA hard detail can be used. Just be sure to get one of at least equal quality of the original in order to use recovery media to install the drivers/software/Windows on the new hard drive. It may be big, but not small ability more. For example if you have a 500 GB hard drive you can use a 750 GB hard drive, but not a 320 GB hard drive.

    Hello

You can delete the HP_TOOLS partition as follows.

Hold down the Windows key and press R.  Type diskmgmt.msc and press ENTER.

In the lower pane (chart) showing the partitions, right-click the HP_TOOLS partition and select delete the Volume.

Once completed, this leaves an entry for "unallocated space".

You can then right-click on the C partition and select Extend Volume to add to the C partition unallocated space.

  • HP Pavilion dv 6000: hardware upgrade for hp pavilion dv 6000

I have an old hp pavilion dv 6000, I recently upgraded to windows 7 and everything works well, but I would like to make the hardware upgrades as well.

I want to move to maximum capacity, specifically: processor, graphics card, hard drive, and wireless network card.

If someone can provide me with a list of known compatible with my system hardware would be great, I'll also be open to any suggestion of additional hardware upgrade if someone propose

    Hello

Two things, you will not be able to upgrade: display the card and wireless network card.

    (a) graphics card: we cannot spend more than 90% of laptops, including yours,

    (b) wireless network adapter: your machine was built before the mid-2014, the whitelist prevents you to upgrade the wireless card.

Now, you have 2 items to upgrade (maybe 3): hard drive and the processor (CPU) (and maybe RAM)

    (a) HARD drive: any 2.5 "HDD or even SSDS with 9.5 mm or less. SSD is more expensive but faster. HHD, please select the one that has RPM faster (7200 RPM), large cache (more is better). They are numerous on the following list including SSD:

    http://www.centrecom.com.au/notebook-hard-drives

    (b) for the processor, please use following 5-69 of the manual page to buy the right part of HP. Please do not ask me why to buy at HP.

  • HP pc hardware diagnostics uefi

I currently own a HP 700-074 model computer HP PC Diagnostics UEFI version 5.2.4.0 (rev.1). I check the support site HP monthly for driver and hardware updates and noticed an update for this program.

This may seem like I'm a little picky, but nobody knows what kind of corrections are available in the hardware of PC HP update the Diagnostics UEFI 5.3.4.0 (Rev. 1) published on 20/12/2013? What is a patch security, minor features/corrections or something else? I guess my question is what is a mandatory update or a recommended update? This program comes with a scoring change that documents what is updated? I'm pretty tired of updating my main hard drive (I don't want to screw up the UEFI boot sector and having to reinstall Windows 8) or Flash the BIOS, especially if its only for the minor bug fixes I can tolerate. All answers are appreciated. Thank you all for your time.

Hi boinc127, I don't have the log of changes from the last update, but if you have no special numbers its better to not be affected in the present case because it has a prittey complicated procedure to get this installed update, Adi.

  • 17-f151nm Pavilion: Pavilion 17-f151nm hardware upgrade

Hello, I have a Pavilion 17-f151fm, K6Z65EA #BED product number if that's any help. I'm looking to upgrade of hardware a bit but I find different information about the hardware so I'm in doubt a little bit what to do. This laptop has two slots of RAM or just one? I also want to replace the existing SDS, with HARD drive specifically Samsung Evo 850. Y at - there maybe some hardware incompatibility problems? And I would win some notable improvements in performance? Laptop is running Windows 8.1 x 64.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Here are the specs:

    http://support.HP.com/ca-en/document/c04479935

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See page 2-3. You model is a processor Core i3 has 2 memory slots and it can operate up to 2 x 8 gig DDR3L-1600, for a total of 16 concerts. A SSD Samsung Evo 850 SATA-III works perfectly. It would be a significant speed improvement.

However, either upgrade involves a very delicate surgery. See p. 93 for the hard drive and back up to p. 70, showing the removal of the top cover.

See p. 104 for memory. I just say here that this is to remove the motherboard.

If I click on display - display the currencies of imaging equipment shows up, HP Deskjet 2050 j510 series (USB) HP TrueVisionHD (twice) and USB video device. I think that when my fan has been replaced the webcam/mic cable may have been disconnected or damaged but I don't know what cable it is. Can I disassemble my laptop if I have to, but I don't know where the webcam and microphone are hung and I could not find in a manual or anything.

    Hi @gmurph52 ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. It's a great site for information and questions. I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion dv7-6c95dx Notebook and questions with the WebCam. Thank you for all the information about what you have tried and what you see in Device Manager. Very useful.

I would like to start by uninstalling the devices listed in your device under imaging devices Manager. Reboot the laptop.

Do you see something new in there?  Here's a document on how to fix the WebCam as the computer sees connected and recognizes it.

Are not, you may have to check the connections. Here is a link to your manual page 30 parts and page 84 of deletion for the location on your laptop.

    I hope this helps.

  • HP Pavilion 500-267C: hardware acceleration is disabled or not supported by your video card driver.

I had to reinstall Windows, then reinstall the drivers.  Fortunately, I had saved drivers in the system with the magic of the pilot, it was simple to just restore. However, when I try to start a Windows game, I get this error message:

Hardware acceleration is disabled or not supported by your video card driver, which could slow down the performance of the game. Make sure that you install the latest video card driver and that hardware acceleration is turned on.

I checked, and hardware acceleration is enabled, which leaves wondering what the problem is. In Device Manager, by looking at the audio, video and game controllers, I see only an audio driver. I came to HP site, looking for the right video driver, but I don't know what to download.  My computer does not have a separate graphics card (more pity). It is integrated into the motherboard.

    Hello

I have a Pavilion G6 mobile 2338sl. When I was on Windows 8.1 the touchpad worked a lot, so I've updated for Windows 10. Windows updated my drivrs to last, provided also by Synaptics (19.0.19.1). HP says the moment is upgrade from Windows to provide the driver for this laptop, as you can see on the driver support page. The touchpad works, the parameters can be set (gestures etc.), the touchpad turns off when another mouse is connected (it's ok).

The problem is that if I use the touchpad and I want to turn off the button, it does not work and the computer reacts like a click. So I returned to the old driver and button works. But Windows Update continusly updated the driver (I disabled the option in the advanced settings, but it still update) and I come to every time.

So I tried to reinstall Wndows freshly (not update Windows 8.1) and with the old driver works, but when she updates to 19.0.19.1, the button to turn off the work stoppage.

I looked on the interent and someone tips to set minimum detection of palm. I tried but it still not working.

I hope someone can help me
