I understand that you have replaced the cartridges and the photos are forthcoming from smeared. I can help you with this.

I have a document with a few steps to try to see if this will solve the problem.

  • New cartridge without ink

Do you think what would happen if I put in a new cartridge, which I did several times (black), that everything on the PC says that the cartridge is new and full, but still it refuses to print black ink?

Things worked... not with the printer, but HP.  I called, made a host of trouleshooting, still does not work.  They sent me a refurbished!  A lot!  I heard that it is a common problem.

  • Photosmart repeated 5514 new cartridge installed alerts when any new cartridges have been installed

This is a printer newly installed, connected to a MacBook Pro running OS last, Lion. Installation and alignment of the new cartridges went very well, but now I get alerts several times a day saying that a new cartridge of whatever color or other had been installed and I need to align. The printer works well otherwise, but these alerts are a nuisance, because the only way to get them off the screen is to restart.

How can I get rid of these alerts without turning them off completely?

    Hello

I believe that the installation of the latest version of the software published on the website of HP can solve the problem. It's a newer version, and based on my experience it should solve the specific problem.

Please follow the steps below and check any changes:

First step: completely uninstall the software by using scrubber

    * Please note that the following steps will delete all HP software installed.

    1. click on menu go (click the desktop, then watch the menu in the bar at the top of the page)
    2. Select Applications
    3 select the Hewlett-Packard folder
    4. double-click on uninstall HP application
5 follow the uninstall to prompt to select a device to uninstall
    6. press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Cmd keys on the keyboard at the same time as you click on uninstall
7 approve any prompt to uninstall all HP software.

Second step: reset the printing system

    * Be aware that reset the printer system will eliminate any existing queue and reset all custom settings driver.

Click on the Apple menu and then click on System Preferences.
    Select Print & Scan.
Right click (or Ctrl + click) your product with the Printers list in the left panel and then click on reset printing system.
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type your user name and password.
Click OK. The printing system resets.

Step 3: install the latest version of the software

    http://FTP.HP.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL40665/MP-98874-1/Photosmart-5510d-series_v12.14.0.dmg

Step 4: update the latest drivers

Click the Apple icon, and then click software update.

Click on show details and be sure to select the HP printer software update 2.9.

Click on install and provide the details of user when you are prompted to.

    Hope that helps,

  • Photosmart 7520: selection of cartridge?

my printer seems to use the photo black ink cartridge when printing documents. It is a hypothesis because it's the only cartridge which shows low ink level and my documents seem to be an empty cartridge printing close. I rarely use it for printing photos so I don't know why it's using this cartridge, but it needs to use almost empty. Is there a way to change the settings?

    Hey @ringmaster,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you run low of photo black ink in your 7520 Photosmart e-All-In-One printer when you rarely print pictures. The printer uses a little of each color as a base before regular black printing. This is done to improve the quality of the prints and as a safety feature to prevent the print head don't dry out. If the print head is clogged or dry, the printhead needs to be replaced and printheads do not part replaced at low cost.

  • Photosmart 7520: Must the Photosmart HP 7520 TWO black ink cartridges (complete and installed) to work?

    Hello

I read a few threads where people are struggling with the question of black ink with this printer. These threads, it seems clear that HP didn't design this system very well, and I would tend to agree. Even if someone said I could find the cartridge (bowtie) smaller at Staples, I can't find it. Even if I could find it, I don't want to have 2 kinds of ink black to store all the time. And my printer does not print black with only a new XL Black 564 installed. Is there a setting I'm missing in the menu where I can choose the XL cartridge only? The manual is not clear on this, and I think it's something that should be clearly explained.

My question is simple, and please, one who answers, read my questions and do not provide a generic incomplete response and then put a little check mark 'Resolved' next to this problem. With 3 wires, that I read on this subject, the question NOT yet resolved or fully explained.

The printer may be used and black printing using only the right XL cartridge or do I need to have both complete and installed black cartridges to work? And a follow-up, the left cartridge (bowtie) should stay there so he works or can I remove it and keep filling the cartridge XL to go forward with the empty to the left slot. If you work for HP and you are reading this and 100% do not know the answer... call someone at HP who has designed this printer and know please let me know.

    Thank you!

The printer requires all cartridges having ink - they don't need to be full, but they all need to be installed and have adequate ink.  The thick black cartridge is pigmented black, mainly used for text and graphics on paper.  Thinner bowtie is the photo cartridge.  It contains dye black ink based and is designed for printing on photo paper.  Black pigmented ink is not compatible with the glossy photo media, black of the photo will be used in cases where the photo paper is selected in the driver or detected automatically.

The Photosmart 7520 has separated from the inks and printheads, with plumbing to connect.  All inks must be present to prevent air intake in the plumbing or the print heads and keep the printheads from clogging.  See here for more information on using ink.

  • PHOTOSMART 7520: PHOTOSMART 7520

MY WIFE DOES A LOT OF PHOTO PRINTING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN AFTER CHANGE CARTRIDGES THE PRINTER STOPPED PRINTING IN ALL COLORS, BUT USING ONLY YELLOW AND BLACK, WE HAVE ALIGNED THE CARTRIDGES, CLEANED THE RESET TO THE FACTORY SETTING AND WE WILL STILL SUCCEED BLACK AND YELLOW AND YES ALL CARTRIDGES ARE FULL.

REFLECTIONS ON WHAT COULD BE THE ISSUE

    Hello Jim,

Just to be sure, I have to ask... These are genuine new HP cartridges?

Are that they discharges, the vent on the top Ribbon tab has been removed and not to clog the vent?

If so, its possible the printhead went down something in it during the change of the cargtrigdes.

Assuming that its out of warranty now you can lift the print head on and soak in warm water, then blow gently (opposite direction of the flow of ink of coarse) nozzles. Runs the process of cleaning the printer itself does not remove a big clog in the nozzle by running out of ink through it.

Here's the manual explaining the process and other steps as well.

HP Photosmart 7520 printers - color or black ink prints do not

IF that does not do it, the new cartridges must be defective in some way. I don't see anything else that would entail.

  • Envy 4502: Envy 4502 new cartridge number

I bought new cartridges of ink of Inkfarm.com. They are the correct number (61, color and b & W). My printer gives me the message "ink cartridge problem". I unplugged the machine and took the cartridges out and put their folder several times. And Yes, I make sure I removed the Ribbon of them before putting them.

I have a new HP Photosmart 7520 e-all-in-one printer just out the box. I removed the tape and cartridge access door does not open more than 40 degrees. The figure represents about 80 degrees. I'm afraid to force it. I can't put new cartridges in the printer. Very frustrated trying to get help. It doesn't seem to be a phone number or Web site for direct assistance. HP has really gone down hill. Help!

    Kind regards.

  • Photosmart 7520: hp photosmart 7520 yellow ink cartridge will not in (pop out of space)

I tried to install two different new HP 564 XL yellow ink cartridge in my Photosmart 7520. They arise constantly from their slots. I managed with the magenta cartridge that is similar, but the yolks do not remain in place. What is the solution?

Hi Rebmark, I did some research and found a troubleshooting page that describes some steps that might solve this problem.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-Photosmart-7520-e-all-in-one-printer-series/5199461/document/c02944025

Step #9 may be the answer you're looking for. When the ink cartridges is not properly connected, it can help try gently bending the cartridge tab try to avoid to bend this tab over a half inch, as it could damage the cartridge.

I hope this helps, but let me know if you're still having problems!

  • Photosmart 7520: 7520 Photosmart black too big HP 564 black cartridge for insertion in the cartridge tray

My Photosmart HP 7520 has 2 black cartridges.  One is narrow with the same width as the color cartridges and the other is larger and fits OK into its slot on the far right.  Close cartridge is supposed to be inserted into the slot on the left.  I bought 3 new cartridges of 564 black but it's widest 564 black.  How to find the narrow black cartridge?

    J_A_A

564 cartridges are labeled with icons for identifications. Black regular has a Pentagon on it and black Photo has a 'Butterfly' icon (and image of the camera on the package). I think that you're looking for is the photo in the black.

BTW, regular 564 also has a narrow black (standard load) and more wide (XL), so make sure match the icon, not the size.

  • HP Photosmart 7520 problem installation (left side black) black ink cartridge

I replaced the ink cartridges in the HP Photosmart the 7520 front unit and had no problem. It is very easy.

Now, I had to replace the print cartridge black on the left side of the ink cartridges. The old man is very good, but I can't get the new cartridge to go! I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I pulled the plastic wrap and twisted the orange lever down.

I can't have the back of the cartridge to slide between the side of the bracket and the cartridge color next to it. He won't go. I don't even get it far enough to start the shoot from the front down. I tried to remove the color cartridge, but it does not help. I compared the old and new side by side cartridges. They look the same. Except, the former says 564 - installation, and the news is 564 - XL. I believe that this is the first change since we bought the printer.

    Any ideas?  Thank you.

    Phil Brown

7520 photosmart all-in-in-one using five ink cartridges. Photo, Magenta, Cyan, yellow and black. The cartridge on the left side is a Photo cartridge. This cartridge is not the same as the black cartridge.

Please make sure you are trying to install the Photo cartridge in the left side slot. The Photo ink cartridge will be a "Bow tie" icon and black cartridge will have a "Pentagon" icon on this subject. See the document below to learn more about the difference between a Photo black cartridge:
