Volume and network of the missing icons in the taskbar

Most of the time, not always, when I turn on my computer I have no network and volume icons in the taskbar.  When I right click on the taskbar and go to properties, then the notification area, sometimes I am able to click on them and then click 'apply', but other times they are grey. I never had this problem before, but I had to completely restore the computer recently.  My OS is Vista Home Premium. Thanks for any help.

  • Volume and network icons missing notifications

Once more the volume and network icons that are normally on my left lower taskbar disappeared. How can I fix it? I'm not a Curmudgeon. Apparently, this has been a problem for years, and there are 100's of the posted solutions none of which I was able to implement. Microsoft allows just that kind of problem OS to continue for years?

  • After the 24 Firefox update, Windows 7 64-bit breaks on reboot. The network in the taskbar icon is not ready (blue circle stopped).

After 24 of Firefox update, Windows 7 breaks after the reboot. The network in the taskbar icon is not ready (blue circle on the wireless network icon). But I can't do much. I can't open the network and sharing Center (never opened). Even the Task Manager hangs when I click to show processes from all users. I have to do a system restore for a network working again. I never even launched Firefox.

Wow... I finally have the solution. Windows updates have been applied at the same time I updated Firefox. Bluetooth driver is what broke (which is part of the Centrino wireless). I ended up installing the latest driver from Intel, Windows Update, and then update Firefox... and all is well.

I thank very you much for all your help. Take care.

    Hello

    One last thing to check.

Open the Registry Editor and navigate to the following location.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

In the right side window, click on the NoAutoTrayNotify value and select Edit. If there is a '1', replace it with "0".

Quit the registry editor and Log Off/Log.

    Test.

  • How to pin folders and files to the taskbar?

I have a few updates from XP to Windows 7.  How to pin folders and files to the taskbar?  I got a lot of these in my XP Quick Launch bar.

    Mike

PIN Windows Explorer in the taskbar and you can right click to get your recently viewed files.

You can also add toolbars to the taskbar.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-GB/Windows7/add-a-toolbar-to-the-taskbar

A toolbar can be any folder in Windows Explorer. So you can put any selection of files to a user created folder and access these files quickly thanks to a simple icon in your taskbar.

However, don't go overboard you can quickly run out of space on the taskbar. My toolbars are interspersed between the program pinned to the taskbar, tasks and links with the Noification area to the right. The section of the program will go to a second line below according to the needs and so you can limit the space allocated to programs if you wish.

  • Network of the taskbar status icon

I'm under Windows XP Home Edition and the following problem everything works normally. Be a fool I inadvertently deleted a registry key and do not have a corrupt system of backup clean or restore point. Now the network status icon is more shown in the taskbar, even though the active network adapter appears in network connections and "Show icon in notification area when connected" is checked. This is why much appreciate it if someone could tell me what registry entry needs to be replaced?

Don't mess with the registry again.  Try this:

In Windows XP, open the network connections Control Panel.

Right-click on the connection to the Local network (or other), and then select Properties.

In the general tab, uncheck 'display the icon... '. "and/or boxes to"notify... ". "in the lower left corner.

    Click on 'OK '.

Re-open the connection to the Local network (or other) properties and set the check boxes as you want.

    Click on 'OK '.

You should have your back icon... Good luck.

  • iPhone 6 more issues activation and network on the latest iOS 9.3.2

I have an iPhone 6 it is having problems with Activation and networking connectivity. I activated via iTunes and updated to the latest iOS 9.3.2 this morning. The phone remain active for a period of time and then come back to need activation.

Using WiFi it is full bars but no connection. I'm typing this from my iPad on the same WiFi connection, so not the network. If I turn off WiFi and cell there still no connection. The phone will receive calls (even when stuck in the activation state) and can make calls after you have enabled from iTunes.  She was released a couple of times, but always the same question.

I tried to erase and reload from iTunes to the top, but the restore function requires that find my iPhone service shut down on the phone and this step requires access to complete network.

    Try the following steps:

    • Try connecting your device to your computer and launch iTunes. Choose your device and click on summary > update.
    • If this does not work, make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer and restart your computer.
    • When it restarts load iTunes and try to select your device and click on summary > update again.
    • If this does not work, it's time to try a restore. Press and hold the sleep/wake and home buttons on your iPad or your iPhone until iTunes gives you the option to restore your device.
    • When it's over, you can restore a backup, and you should be good to go with 9.3 running iOS.
  • Homegroup and network cut the connection. Internet connection remains constant.

I posted here once before and thought that I fixed it so I told everyone that it was fixed.  Of course I spoke too soon.  I have a very annoying problem with my laptop Win 7 and Win 7 office not being able to keep a home group or a network connection between them.  First of the installation program.  Both computers are Win 7 Home Premium.  The laptop is a HP and the office is a home built computer.  My router is a Belkin N + F5D8235-4 V2000.  So far, I tried to isolate the problem without success.  The Office has a G by US Robotics Wireless card.  I tried to download the latest firmware on their site, but it says that Windows will take care of all upgrades.   I thought that maybe that was the problem, so I uninstalled and put a new mark with the same results.  Updated firmware to update on the router and the laptop HP as well.  I use Windows with Microsoft Security Essentials firewall.  Any time I you change something it will work for about 10-15 minutes and die again.  Changes, I mean disable the firewall to change wireless channel, other random settings on the router.  But like I said that even leaving changes for awhile he still falls to the loss of the connection.  This is why I think I can exclude the firewall.  Tonight, I noticed that even if the two computers are online, nor shown on my routers DHCP client list.  I disabled DHCP on the router and the connection worked great for a while but my cell phone could not recover on the wi - fi network so I changed it back.  When I turned the DHCP on both computers customers showed up on top of the list.  It was like that in the last 20 minutes and my I am still able to access the network and the home group.  However, does anyone else have any other ideas? I am about to but a different router and see if it may be the problem.  I hope you understand what I mean.  Please let me know if you need more information.

    Hello

The command IPconfig shows a configuration valid card wireless with IPv4 and IPv6.

If the second computer has similar result and the homegroup is set up correctly. It should work.

You keep talking on the network? Provided that you explained to the homegroup is now your network.

I can't relate to the list of devices of Belkin, if both computers are getting a valid IP address, then this is the problem in the router.

Win7 when configured on the peer-to-peer network has three types of configurations of sharing.

Group residential network = only works between Win 7 computers. This type of configuration, it is very easy to entry level users to start sharing network.

Working network = fundamentally similar to previous methods of sharing that allow you to control what, how and to whom the records would be shared with.

    Public share
= network Public (as Internet Café) in order to reduce security risks.

Make sure that the software firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall on, Vista/XP Firewall Native should be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions

    General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq.html#trusted
Please note that some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic.

If you end up with the 3rd party software uninstalled or disabled, make sure that Windows native firewall is active .

If you have permission and security issues with Vista/Win7, check the following settings.

Point to a folder that wants to share do right click and choose Properties.

    In the properties

Click on the Security tab shown in the bellows of the photo on the right) and verify that users and their permissions (see photo below Centre and left) are configured correctly. Then do the same for the authorization tab.

This screen shot is to Win 7, Vista menus are similar.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/permission-security.jpg

The Security Panel and the authorization Panel, you need to highlight each user/group and consider that the authorization controls are verified correctly.

When everything is OK, restart the network (router and computer).

    * Note . The groups and users listed in the screen-shoot are just an example. Your list will focus on how your system is configured.

** Note . All the users who are allowed to share need to have an account onall computers that they are allowed to connect to.

Everyone is an account, that means a group of all users who already have an account now as users. It is available to avoid the need to configure permission for each on its own, it does not mean all those who feel that they would like to connect.
