• USB problems: When HP Photosmart C4599 is enabled, all other USB ports on the desktop becomes useless

  I just bought a HP Photosmart C4599 and successfully installed the software provided on my HP Pavilion 743c Desktop.  I connected via a USB cable.  I am running Windows XP SP3 and automatic updates are on.  I've updated the software that came with the printer and everything seems to work properly.  I printed and scanned successfully.   However, I noticed that when I connect my memory stick or digital camera via USB, I now get this message annoying that States, peripheral USB not recognized.  The only way to get my computer to recognize my stick of memory or the camera, is to stop my printer and then reconnect my stick of memory or the camera.

  Somehow the printer or the software's a waste opportunity to my computer to recogize the devices that are connected via the USB port.

  I wish I could connect my memory stick or the camera without turning off my first impression.

  Any solution would be really appreciated.

  This usually occurs on computers with older chipsets USB which cannot provide enough power to multiple devices at the same time. The best you can do is try and install the latest drivers for your motherboard or update the BIOS of your motherboard. Otherwise, use only 1 USB device at the same time. Or, buy a powered USB hub and connect the printer or get a new computer.

  In addition, you do something else. Unplug all USB devices from your PC (except the keyboard and mouse). Now just turn off your computer and unplug the power cable from the Tower of the wall outlet. Be it like that for about 20-30 minutes. Now just press the power button on the tower for about 3 to 4 times to ensure that all static electricity is passed, then plug the cable into the wall and turn on the PC and try the two devices to connect to the PC and see if you get the error messages.

  In addition, you can insert the memory stick into the memory card slots printers and view pictures on your computer.

  Thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support! I see a recent update went through for your HP Photosmart C4599 and now you get status msi pop up messages on your computer that is running the Windows Vista operating system.

  I would like you to follow the steps below:

  Please, try disabling your firewall and perform a clean boot. Now, follow the steps below:

  1. disconnect the USB key if you use a direct connection.

  2. remove the software HP C4599 PS to uninstall from the control panel of your computers an option of the program.

  3. restart the computer.

  4. make sure that all them that software PS C4599 has disappeared from the list of programs, but also your HP folder listed under all programs in your Start Menu.

  5. now, go ahead and download the software and drivers for your PS C4599 (DO NOT connect USB until the software prompts you to):

  6. go ahead and print a test page.

• Photosmart C4599 connects to the wireless network

  System details: Windows 7 64 bit, HP Photosmart C4599 Limited Edition. Wireless network (Netgear router) with visible SSID and MAC filter.

  As the title suggests: my wireless printer is not connecting to my wireless network more. The reason that it is 'more' is because he used to work. But my wireless router has started to lose the internet connection - and I read somewhere that it might work to change the broadcast channel of the router (instead of channel 11 to 13). And it helped.
  But since then, the printer was not able to connect. I tried it back - and interruption of the internet connection but the printer worked (a little).

  Ok.  I think that the issue would be with the channel.  It might be too high a frequency for the printer to communicate properly.  You can have a heavy traffic on any channel, it depends on what is around you.  I recommend trying channel 1 or 6.  You should be able to download a parser for your smart phone wifi see what are the channels have less useage.

  I just bought a Slimline Pavilion and hung my c4599 photosmart all-in-one; but it was not detected by windows.  I tried to download a driver on the HP website, no luck, downloaded the printer installation wizard, still nothing.  Is there a driver for this printer compatible with Windows 7 64-bit or not?

  Below the download section is also a "Update" section with a download "HP Software Service Pack". I think this will help with the Windows 7 installation problem that you are experiencing.

• Printer Photosmart C4599 fell into the error mode "printer offline".

  Seemed to start after that ATT came home to tune up our internet service by adjusting the wireless channels.  Of course, they deny that they had anything to do with the printer.

  Printer does not print.  jobs stack in printing (QC) I ran the "wireless network test report" and I got a "failure" on the name of the SSID network not found.  I don't know what that means.

  Help!  I went to Best Buy and they said they do not even bother to work on printers or even help out them.  Buy a new printer is advice

  In case of failure.  Means that you are not connected to your routers SSID with password.   IF they changed the channel change it back and use channel 1.   Reset your printer to the default network via the front panel.

  To restore the default settings of the network
  1. press the button wireless on the product.
  2. press the button next to the down arrow on the display until restore network
  Defaults is highlighted and press OK.
  3 confirm that you want to restore the default settings of the network.

  Now connect your printer to your network using your printer USB cable and re-run the installation CD.  If no CD, download on the website of HP here.

  I recently added a computer portable 64-bit windows 7 to my home wireless network connected to my hp photosmart printer.  Now when I try to print from my other computer laptop windows vista or windows xp to office, both of which printed perfectly preveiously, nor will print at all and suggest that the printer is offline.

  I tried to uninstall and reinstall the software on the computer vista laptop but no joy, infact in the setup, I have now a message that the pc and the printer are connected to different networks and lists different IP addresses?

  I'm sorry you have a problem with the ink cartridges.

  Re-filled ink cartridges will not always work to these printers. Sometimes, it can, but it may also cause this behavior.

  You will need to get new geniune HP cartridge in order to remove this message.

  I want to print wireless.  I recently changed my router to a 4G one and a new internet provider.   I need to enter the SSID of the router to the printer code so that it can join the wireless network and connect to my MacBook Pro.  Initially when I bought the printer, I was able to connect wireless using a provided HP CD - this does not currently work with Mac OS X 10 El Capitan, even if I have loaded down the HP update drivers.  The printer does not have a screen to change the SSID directly so I guess I have to change sort through my Apple laptop.  I you'd be grateful if someone could help me

  Thank you access the Forums from HP Support for extra support! I see that you want to configure the printer on the new wireless network. I will do my best to help you with this problem.

  I have provided a few steps to set up the printer via an ad-hoc connection and then convert it into infrastructure. (your network) Since there is no HP software to run the wireless installation.

  Click the airport near the upper right corner on a Mac.

  Click on the HP printer in the list.

  It takes about 3 minutes to connect.

  Once you get a solid blue light on the printer, it is successfully connected.

  You will not be connected to your network for a bit while we set up the printer on the network.

  Print the configuration page to get the printer IPv4 address.

  Open your web browser, type the IPv4 address for the printer (Safari).

  This will load the Web built-in to the printer server.

  We can now configure the printer on the wireless network.

  Click on the networking, on the left side, click on Wireless, fill out your information for the network. (The network name SSID, set it to the infrastructure, enter your password and the encryption type)

  Apply the settings.

  Now back to the airport closest to the top right corner on a Mac and select the name of your network.

  Just add the network printer on Mac now.

  Click on the Apple.

  Click on System Preferences, click Print and scan icon, then click on the + sign, then select the printer from the list, click Add. (you may need to click the drop-down list to select the printer name to add it in)

  Test the printer.

• Photosmart C4599 suddenly lost driver

  Tried to print a picture from Photoshop & got the error message saying that, in addition to printing, I have to configure my printer. Printer was working well 4 days ago, I didn't update/update anything that either does not have something new. I tried to print Word documents, I am of the opinion that I had no installed printer. After that, I tried EVERYTHING: troubleshooting, uninstalling & reinstalling, unplugging, turning off some programs etc, tried downloading drivers from HP.com, changed ports USB-same result, my printer does not work! Now, he can scan & copy, but I cannot print any documents from my computer. Any ideas? It of time to get a new printer, or still has a chance of recovery? Thank you in advance!

  Tried twice, your suggestion, did not help. Also changed the cable USB-just in case by case without result. Then I tried another printer by Canon - same result, could not download the drivers. On both printers got the message: "device driver software was NOT properly installed" & then «Fatal error during installation» Finally, I decided to tackle my computer & BINGO! =) Then, I solved the problem myself. Thank you for your efforts, however, I really appreciate it!

  After searching 'language', I found:

  -c00313570 indicates bpu01868: no longer exists. Ring may not be withdrawn.

  I tried to reset the printer in order to have the ability to select the language, but...

  -c01369750: indicates that you must press "OK" and "Color copy" when you plug the power cable to the printer: does not work.

  How the language can be changed? How the printer can be reset?

  Go to the special Menu:

  -Press CANCEL and POWER button at the same time

  -Enter special Key Combo--> press BLUE, GREEN, GRAY button in sequence

  -Support Menu display

  -Keep pressing the GREY button to highlight reset Menu

  -Press the GREEN button when Reset is highlighted

  -Press the GRAY button and select partial reset printer will reset and it should display the list of languages

  -Be sure to select English - choose the correct region also

• Change passward C4599 printer wireless

  I changed the modem and the new modem built in WiFi.  That's why I need to re-type the password for the network.  My other printers have a screen and the password can be entered directly into the printer, but the C4599 doesn't have this capability.
