  It seems that your printer spooler may have a problem.

  Try to stop and restart.

  1. click on Start Menu

  2. type (Services) in the search bar

  3 scroll down to Printer Spooler

  4. stop and restart.

• Photosmart d7260 requires cleaning frequent printhead

  I have a photosmart d7260 printer connected to a home network.  My computer is a hp 6730 s running XP service pack 2.  I have print regularly - maybe not everyday but several times a week at least.  A week there's an impossible document print - the printer seems to go through all the motions, but the book came out in white.  No error message.   After trying the task two or three times with the same results, I ran the touch screen of the printer print head cleaning function.  After the first run, the test page showed a few white streaks in the blocks of color, but after the second run everything was fine.  Since then, I have run the print head cleaning function before each print session to obtain good results.  I can print as many pages as I want during a few hours at the computer, but if I leave it for a few hours, I have to run cleaning print head again to get good copies even later the same day.  If I don't, black text can out Brown or some parts of the text or graphics don't print at all.  Needless to say, running clean print head which is often quickly depleting my ink supply.

  All of a sudden my printer D7260 renounced the print color. I printed a picture to see what happen & it prints in color is fine. What could possibly cause the color of the document printing give up? I have an iMac running 10.6.

  I've been printing both photos & docs with this printer for years. Installed 10.6 year last & always everything has worked well. After I posted this question yesterday I downloaded a driver 10.6 for an Apple llink that someone gave to another person who had posted a similar problem (but not the same). I thought I had nothing to lose! I am pleased to announce that it has solved my problem. It is now printing docs and photos!

• Photosmart D7260: D7260 does not illuminate

  I turned off the printer using the power button. Now, I can't turn it on.

  I cut the current unit and the mains, wait for the green light from the transformer came out, reconnected to the mains and to the printer. The switch light does not come. The Cancel button is lights up the button print photos to the printer doesn't exist.

  Any suggestions?

  Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  I should be able to help on the printer turn on/off do not.  You mentioned that light to cancel it and the light of the picture are on if the printer is powered.  The first thing I suggest is to plug the printer into the wall directly if there is currently a power surge protector or extension cord. This may sound silly, but this will ensure the printer gets full power and can eliminate any unnecessary troubleshooting. If the printer is no longer becomes full power of power against power surges or extension cord it can give false errors, have bad connection, questions and quality of paper feed problems.  It is also a good idea to try a different wall jack if the printer is already directly to a wall outlet.

  Here is a document about the flashing light errors on the printer: blinking lights on HP Photosmart D7200 and D7400 Printer Series.

  I recommend to check this document to see if there is a paper jam in the printer: a 'Paper Jam jam. Claire then press OK. "Views for HP Photosmart D7200 Printer series D7400.

  It would also be a good idea to check for a jam in transport as well by clicking on this document here: A 'transport Jam' Message is displayed for HP Photosmart D7200 and series D7400.

  Dark magenta has more ink, replaced the cartridge status shows 100% and click ok, but do not print magenta color, test page does not print light or dark magenta bars have performed maintenance cleaning printhead several times, still does not

  Solution - I found the image more red, I had (wrapped Christmas gifts) clouded the Red a lot, then printed on a dozen pictures for magenta flowing.  It seems to have worked. Apparently, there was a clog or the dried ink from the printer where I didn't replace the magenta cartridge empty for so long. Good luck with yours.

  Hello, I have an iMAC Intel Mac running on OSx Mountain Lion 10.8.4.  All software are up to date including the printer driver software automatically updated. When I print pictures in color, the colors do not match. I got it correspond exactly to 100% in the past. Does anyone have a solution for me?  Thank you!

  Well, I understood what is happening. You don't have a color ICC profile on your computer for this printer.

  Why?

  Because you use the Apple HP drivers for this printer. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. However, it is not the same to have full feature software and drivers that come on the disk with the printer or download it from the HP website. The bad thing is this printer is not only the software for your version of Mac OS X. It's a pretty old printer and there been no drivers and full software functionality of HP since OS X 10.6.

  I'm sorry, but you need to upgrade to a new printer or doing without ICC profiles

  I use Windows 7 64-bit.  I changed two inks this morning, a black and a blue.  Blue ink was very good.  Black ink error said, "Printer service for necessary repairs as a result of the use of ink expired."  I bought all the colors of the ink at Staples only a couple of months.  So, I hated to do it, but I opened another black ink and installed, and I get the same message.  Because of this message, I can't print anything, and I can't get beyond the error.

  Try to remove and replace the cartridges in place until the error disappears. You can also check if there is dried ink or any debris in there that could cause a problem.

  I understand that you have a Photosmart D7260, you want to join a network and then install and use it with a Windows 8 and Windows 7. Absolutely, I'll do my best to help you with this.

  I suggest that you start by turning on the printer and connect the Ethernet cable to the printer and then the router/modem. Once this is done, you can download/register the software for Windows 8 for your printer, and then run the installation. Once this is complete, you can then go to your Windows 7 computer and follow the same installation steps once you download/save Windows 7 software on your computer as well.

  It has constantly harassed me. The electric contact on the device is a bridge single spring that completes a circuit on the printer. The contact of the printer is two conductive strips on a phenolic Board. The bridge of the device is horseshoe-shaped. I had already inspected the two contacts and saw nothing wrong. Yet the message led me to believe that the printer doesn't 'see' the device. After the reinstallation of the unit, I held the printer with one hand and pulled on the device firmly on both sides. It was not very different from what I had done before. I had already heard the latches snap into place. And I thought I had an electrical contact. I printed a short document and did not get any message. Then I printed a two-page and the duplexer work! The Conclusion, the printer now "sees" the duplexer.

I jumped out and filled it and popped it in and it has been a nightmare since! Error ink system. Nothing worked - HP told me for the junk food she - repairman says that it would cost me more just to buy a remanufactured... I knew that I didn't 'break '! HP could not care less...   Fix your HP Photosmart D7360 (Reset Code/Master) *.

  1 - turn off the power and unplug it from the power source.
  2 - open right side of the printer (looking at the front).
  3 - Cut, gently, pulling the two wires white flat ribbon off the main circuit power.
  4 - plug in power source and turn on the printer. Wait until you get an error message and press 'Ok '.
  5 - Disconnect the power supply.
  6 - plug cables flat ribbon by aligning and carefully pushing into the conectors on the main circuit.
  7 - Plug in power source and turn the printer on (printer preparing occurred).
  8. here, the message bad 0xc18a0001 error "ink system has failed" is now gone.

  I got the error code Oxc18a0001 on my HP Photosmart D7260 printer.  I was able to clear the error code and get the printer working again by resetting the printer by pressing the "red eye removal" buttons and "print photos" together that I turned on the power.  I took out the "red eye removal" buttons and "print photos" when the printer is presented a menu that had an option of reset in it.  I used the touch screen and reset a Mohammed and Semi.  It did not offer that a 3rd reset option which was a country / language that was not needed by me right now.  After completing the two reset options the printer printed a test without my guest page there.  The end of the test page I used the power button to turn the printer off and then I enabled again and I was then able to use the printer as usual.  This is not the first time that I had this problem.  It is about the 4th to 6th.  It took me a while to understand this reset procedure and it was after long way to play on everyone and their problems.  I hope this post could help simplify the process for someone out there suffering from this problem as I was.  Hope this information is useful.

  I lost access to my HP Photosmart D7260 to my Dell desktop Inspiron 530 s.
  The printer is connected to a local network via the Actiontec router MI424W.
  Access to this printer is successful and a Dell Studio laptop an ASUS laptop.
  A ping to the printer since the router is successful.
  The printer appears in the list of devices of the network and sharing Center.
  IP 192.168.1.115
  MAC 00: 1 c: c4:3 b: 9f:f7
  Photosmart D7200 series
  UUID:1c852c75-B809-1f08-9297-02bad0efdebc
  It does NOT show in settings > printers or in Control Panel > printers
  I tried:
  stop spooler net back cmd
  and net start spooler
  No effect
  I would like help getting the printer without a re - install.
  I fear that the drivers on the original installation disc have been replaced.
  Also, I am gone a lot of difficulties to get a special setup for this printer would work with Quicken.
