EA7500 and PS3"

Hi all

I need help.  Husband and I implemented the new router, EA7500, and it works very well with all devices except for our PS3.  The PS3 is unable to locate the SSID.  Any ideas?

After speaking with a representative on live chat, for anyone in the future, who has this problem.  Here's the resolution.

1. under the router settings, please click on wireless.
2. According to the basic wireless setting, click on change for 2.4 GHz network.
3. we need to assign 2 another network name (SSID) of 5.0 GHz and 2.4 GHz for optimal wireless performance and to avoid interference of wireless signal. For example, MyNetwork for 2.4 and MyNetwork5 for the 5.0 GHz.
4. for the 2.4 GHz network, network Mode must be set to mixed and channel width 20 MHz channel 11.
5. set the Security Mode to WPA2 personal network 2.4 GHz and 5.0 and enter your wireless network password in the password field.
6. the security of your wireless network key is case-sensitive. Ensure that you write correctly.
7. click on the button to apply.

Worked like a charm for us and I hope that for you also!

  • EA7500 and three RE7000s - seamless roaming

    Hello

My current setup is 4 different old (all with ethernet wiring) wireless routers to get coverage in all of my house. There are a lot of walls in concrete and insulation where 4 routers. The problem I have is that I have quite often disconnects and reconnects as my move of one router to the other devices.

I want to do is get an EA7500 and three RE7000s. Each of the RE7000 will have a wired connection to the router that will also have a swich next to additional ports.

My question is the transparent roaming will (802.11r / k) knit between access points and router in this situation? Happy to make the investment if it will work, but I want to confirm this first. I saw messages with a RE7000 and a router and some with a RE7000 as an Extender and the other as an access point. All mine would be connected acccess points.

I posted this in the channel of wireless routers, but if it is better placed under access points please let me know.

    Thanks in advance

    Thank you guys!

  • E4200 v1, DMZ and PS3 game system

I had a question regarding the use of the DMZ on the router for use with the Playstation 3 game system.  More like a probe for your reactions.  The pro, con and all the rest.  Last week (I think), I posted about problems streaming movies and TV shows through services such as Netflix, VUDU, etc..  I thought using the DMZ feature on my router to expose all the ports for the PS3.  I know I should set address static IP for the PS3 (not let automatically obtain an IP address, that is not a problem), but I wonder if someone has done this, what the results were, what the potential pitfalls are, etc.  I never heard talk of a PS3 being hacked with the exception of the Playstation Network being hacked last year, but which is a service for the PS3 to connect to, does not part of the PS3 itself.

Anyway, just wanted to get some thoughts on this subject here and there.  I thought that if maybe it's a problem of open port, using DMZ could solve this question Lickety-split.  Constructive comments are always appreciated.  Thank you!

BTW, as before, I have the latest firmware, the latest updates on the PS3 itself and the latest app updates that I can get to Netflix, VUDU, etc. on the systems themselves.

The 1st thing you should consider is your modem. What is a simple modem or a modem/router. If it is a modem/router, then you must put the modem in full bridge mode and configure PPPoE on your router. Then what of the DMZ, as all ports will be opened then you will leave your router vulnerable to attacks, try port forwarding instead. Simply enter the ports for PS3 w / address static ip that you set on your PS3.

  • EA4500 and PS3 abandons the connection

I had a router WRT54G2 and started having trouble with my PS3.  It would connect for a few minutes then she would lose the internet connection.  I thought that maybe it was the router so I have now from the EA4500.  The same problem occurs again.  I have all my other devices wireless connected to the EA4500 without any problems.  The PS3 will connect and connect and then two or three minutes, I get disconnected.  I called Sony and Cisco to help and they were not able to understand the problem.  The PS3 is showing that my network has almost 100% signal strength, so this isn't a problem.  If anyone has experienced this or can help, I would be very grateful!  Thank you.

    @2shibas

    Hello

Is this connected by cable or wireless your PS3? Have some port numbers for Sony, so you can do Port Forwarding on the user interface of the router? If this is not the case, try to contact Sony and ask for the ports necessary for the opening of your PS3.

  • E4200v2 and PS3

I recently changed my router to the E4200 to the E4200v2.  As far as I know, I have the same settings on the E4200v2 as I did on the E4200.  My PS3 will not connect to my network wireless via the E4200v2.  I've spruced up even in my network (SSID and password) information on the PS3.  Always 'no joy'.

Problems with the E4200v2 and the PS3?  Thank you.

The only adjustment I changed: SSID is broadcast now.  All other settings remain the same: safe mode, password, MAC filtering.

Now the PS3 can connect to my wifi via the E4200v2.  Strange...

  • WRT610N - disk external DRIVE for Xbox 360 and PS3

I searched through the fourms and can't seem to find this information.  I'm looking for a suggestion on the Setup and the disk external DRIVE via the USB port on the back of the router you can listen to music and videos on my 360 or PS3.  I see that some people have managed to put it in place and I would like to know which external HARD drive that they use.

I want my externall HDD to sleep, but I want that it to wake up when I go to play the music on my computer or 360 or PS3.  Please post what disk external HARD - that someone has found that works.  Or should I just go with a NAS connected on one of the router's ethernet ports?

Any player should work.  I use a WD drives on my own, (although I share with other systems then the xbox).  Actions are implemented for UPnP.  The documentation should be sufficient to implement that.  Make sure the drive is formatted as an NTFS drive, or it is not possible.

In addition, make sure you have the latest firmware (21 January 2009).

Set up the drive (aka format)

    Create groups

    Create users

    Implement UPnP

    It should work.

In record time, readers built into the firmware and the timeout when they timeout.  You would not be able to set the timeout on this.  I didn't know all the disks than that.  If you are REALLY interested in saving energy buy a USB solid state with no moving parts.  They turned off immediately after what they read/write.

    I hope this helps.

  • Network of Windows media sharing service player does not start - Vista and PS3

I am running Vista 32 bit Home Premium and trying to share my media to DLNA on my PS3 PC using Windows Media Sharing Service. UPnP is enabled. Network discovery is turned on. File sharing is enabled. Media sharing is turned on.

Whenever I visit Windows Media Player or try to change the setting of sharing media in network and sharing Center, there is the error message "media sharing is currently disabled, either because the sharing service is not running or your firewall settings have changed. To restart sharing, you must first confirm your settings.

During the deactivation and reactivation of sharing multimedia files, I never see PS3 on the list (not a single unknown device appears). Also I see no Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service on the list of Services - there is no way to toggle the service or do start automatically.

There are several user accounts on this PC and I made the changes on my admin account.

Tried a 3rd party software Java "PS3 Media Server" and makes my Vista computer show on PS3 without parameters or modifications to firewall. This suggests that the WIFI, router, network discovery and UPnP work. I prefer to use Windows services if I would only get their work.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Need Connector VGA connect laptop and PS3

    Hello

Can someone tell me what kind of connector VGA should I buy (show me the site pls), which to my Toshiba Satellite to connect to my Playstation 3. Then I can use my laptop to play the game and need not to use my camera set.

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

This means that you are looking for a cable that you can use the internal monitor to your laptop for the Playstation 3?

Unfortunately that s is not possible. You can use the laptop as external display monitor. You can extend the laptop to an additional monitor screen, but that s all.

Sorry, but this doesn t work!

  • I have a PS3 which is connected by a cable ethernet for my laptop, but how to make the laptop recognize the PS3, I don't know how to find?

    PlayStation 3

    lingsguest,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.  According to the website of Sony PS3 "file transfers directly between a networked PC and PS3 system are not possible.' http://PlayStation.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/PlayStation.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=1521&p_sid=GK6c1LJj
If your PC does not see the PS3 it could appear as an unknown device and you would not be able to access.

I think that this is a security feature of the PS3 to help prevent being hacked.  Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • RV 120W - problems with PS3

    Hi guys,.

I have some problems to connect my PS3 to my RV120W.

Router and PS3 have the latest firmwares. They are connected via wi - fi (distance about 10 mt, signal is good).

IP of the PS3 is in DMZ (connection does not work with only Upnp), and ip fragmentation is turned on.

Everything seems to work (type NAT 2), but the download on PS3 is slow as hell. My ADSl is a 6Mb, download speed on PS3 looks like more than ten times lower (I do not know how to test it...). A patch of 200 MB download is a torture.

Two of my PC are connected wireless, so I guess that wi - fi is not the problem.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Media Hub & PS3 Compatibility

    Hello

When I try to view pictures files and music files on my hub media via my PS3 from Sony on my TV, some of the folders / files do not appear. Music files only go up now a 'p' and only half of my picture files appear, if I'm going into my PC via the PS3, then all files are displayed for display or play.

The main reason to invest in the media center, it's that I don't want to turn on my PC whenever I want to access the files via my PS3.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Thank you

Try restarting your mediahub and PS3, see if this would solve your problem. You can also see suggestions on the link below.
