HP ProBook 650 G1: upgrade to a backlit keyboard on a laptop HP 650 G1

Hello

I recently bought a HP ProBook 650 G1 laptop. This model does not have a backlit keyboard and I would like to upgrade one.

From what I've read on the internet on this laptop motherboard supports a keyboard backlit (the model is HM87 Intel) and also on a PDF detailed on the HP site describing this model it is said and I quote "Optional backlit keyboard.

Can someone tell me which keyboard should I buy? Because I can't find online. Can you give me a reference number of the backlit keyboard for this model?

Or a reference to a compatible model number. I guess maybe a backlit keyboard of a different model of the laptop must be compatible with mine. I found laptops with similar keyboards like mine but backlited (as hp envy 17) but I don't know if they are compatible.

Sorry for my bad English. I hope that you will help me find a solution.

Thank you!

The current store (which still offers this model) does not list an optional backlit keyboard. The backlit keyboard part is not listed in the manual. It's as if they plan to offer that he decided to do not. About all you can do strip up to the motherboard and see if the header is there. Without that, it's a show-stopper. If it is there, the keyboard that would work would be a keyboard of another model of 15 inches and I don't know who it is.

Can I replace a Keyboard(Non-Backlit) with a backlit keyboard in my laptop HP Pavilion 17-e020dx?

    Hello

This series of computers portable your (and many others) have only 1 option for keyboard:

Full-size, island-keyboard with numeric pad in black or white finish. Gesture of support: MultiTouch gestures
activated, two fingers to scroll and pinchzoom as default
    Faucets, active by default
Support for Windows 8 modern trackpad

Therefore, you can not replace the keyboard only, you must also replace the motherboard that supports a backlit keyboard. If necessary, it would be a very expensive upgrade.

    Kind regards.

  • Can I replace the standard keyboard with a backlit keyboard on this laptop?

The laptop is the Pavilion 15 p267-nr. I know that the new buildings have an option for a backlit keyboard, but I don't know about this particular model. It is possible that I would take it to a technician to do because this laptop seems very complicated to make upgrades to.  The keyboard that is currently a has not all icons in the F5 key, which is where the backlit function should be enabled on.

  • Backlit keyboard for my laptop.

I recently bought a HP laptop and I was wondering if I could pass the keyboard by purchasing a backlit keyboard. I just want to know if the backlit keyboard would work with my laptop because I read that it is not compatible with any laptop.

Also, I would be able to buy and install a wifi with blutooth card, or my laptop is not able to use it?

    Hello

The first manual/guide on the following link tells you two things:

a montherboards for the series do not have a place for you to plug in a backlit keyboard. You need lights for the keyboard, not you? That's the average, you will need to buy a motherboard also.

    (b) a list of wireless cards compatible with BT (page 1-3). My suggestion, buy a BT - USB dongle for little money can solve the problem one avoid a lot of headaches.

  • Can I replace a Keyboard(Non-Backlit) with a backlit keyboard in my laptop HP Pavilion 17-e119wm?

Hey guys, my name is Armando

I bought this laptop in April-->http://www.walmart.com/ip/HP-Anodized-Silver-17.3-Pavilion-17-e119wm-Laptop-PC-with-AMD-A10-5750M-Qu...

cause of my old HP laptop had too many problems. Anyway, I was wondering if this laptop in the link may change its regular keyboard for a backlit LED keyboard rather cause I usually find myself using it in the darkest of the time and the keyboard becomes hard to see in the dark. So I was wondering if you guys would know if it can be upgraded. (it would be useful for me, play games on Steam in the night)

    Hello

    No Armando.
There is no ZIF connector for him in the Council, so, basically, you have to change the whole motherboard & I don't see not all cards compatible with this function.

Check this Toshiba document how to enable or disable the keyboard backlight:

the keyboard backlight must be enabled or disabled using FN + Y or FN + Z key
It depends on the configuration of keyboard language.
The BIOS settings didn't need to be changed.

1 is not the number of product there is a sticker if it is present on the underside of the laptop that has

2, 3, 4 only apply to certain problem that is why I have them here.

Also if has you contact support HP directly to ask them your system was there such an option? Don't forget that it is a forum not a forum of Support from HP...

It is quite unlikely that your motherboard will have the required connector for a backlit keyboard. Your model is an entry level camera.

    Hello

Yes, this notebook is compatible with the backlit keyboards. This is the manual of your laptop:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02657339.PDF

See the computer section of major components for the right part number and run the part number on ebay. You can also search on ebay for "dv6 backlit keyboard. Backlit keyboards there only for two sets or more.

I've dealt with these people and I had no problem, but even if your part number is correct, PC Hub does not show this as being a backlit keyboard. I entered your part number and PC Hub replaces it with another. Very frustrating...

Here's a bunch of e - bay also and many ship worldwide, but none show as being illuminated from the rear?

Make sure you use a good heat when dough swapping processors and everything will be fine. I use it as it notmally would be used and my time will no more than 60 c using AS5.
