HP ProBook 650 G1: 47W HP ProBook G1 650 processor upgrade

Hello world. Can I upgrade my i3 cpu (4000 m) on HP ProBook 650 G1 (D9S33AV) HM87 chipset with the I7-4700MQ CPU 47W PDT?

In Bios Version: 01.22 has is added support for the Intel I7-4800QM processor (I think MQ).

HP ProBook 640 G1, G1 645, 650 G1, and 655 G1 Notebook PC - Maintenance and Service Guide October 1, 2015 I rely for Intel™ Core® i7-4802MQ 2.70 GHz processor (FSB 1600 MHz, 6: 0 - MB L3 cache, quad core, 47 w. I can't find any information on this model of cpu.

It is possible 47W TDP CPU work on this model?

Thank you.

I realize this thread is a few days old, but I thought I would chime. I have a 650 G1 which is originally with an i5 - 4200M and I could upgrade for the i7-4700MQ. Make sure you use a good heat when dough swapping processors and everything will be fine. I use it as it notmally would be used and my time will no more than 60 c using AS5.

  • HP ProBook 650 G1: upgrade to a backlit keyboard on a laptop HP 650 G1

    Hello

I recently bought a HP ProBook 650 G1 laptop. This model does not have a backlit keyboard and I would like to upgrade one.

From what I've read on the internet on this laptop motherboard supports a keyboard backlit (the model is HM87 Intel) and also on a PDF detailed on the HP site describing this model it is said and I quote "Optional backlit keyboard.

Can someone tell me which keyboard should I buy? Because I can't find online. Can you give me a reference number of the backlit keyboard for this model?

Or a reference to a compatible model number. I guess maybe a backlit keyboard of a different model of the laptop must be compatible with mine. I found laptops with similar keyboards like mine but backlited (as hp envy 17) but I don't know if they are compatible.

Sorry for my bad English. I hope that you will help me find a solution.

    Thank you!

The current store (which still offers this model) does not list an optional backlit keyboard. The backlit keyboard part is not listed in the manual. It's as if they plan to offer that he decided to do not. About all you can do strip up to the motherboard and see if the header is there. Without that, it's a show-stopper. If it is there, the keyboard that would work would be a keyboard of another model of 15 inches and I don't know who it is.

  • ProBook 4520 s: lack of features on a ProBook 4520 s after upgrade Windows 10

    Hello dear community

Long story short: I have a HP ProBook 4520 s and yesterday I upgraded manually (with the tool provided by MS) Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro. Everything went very well and smooth and it works perfectly well until now.

The problem is that some of the features of the laptop no longer work. Here are some examples:

    -Highlight the option on touchpad

    -built-in camera

-Some FN buttons like the one for the brightness of the screen while others (for example, the volume and email) working

My reasoning is that it lacks certain drivers or these functions are somehwat is not compatible with the new OS (it's a 5 + year old PC after all), but I could be wrong. I'd like to hear some suggestions and opinions on this.

If someone needs to my specifications complete, there are:

  • ProBook 440 G2: RAM Upgrade will void the warranty?

    Hello

After a lot of dilemma, I buy THISlaptop.

My main concern is the "on-site 5-year guarantee" it comes with.

This laptop has now only 4 GB of RAM. I want to add an another 4 GB myself.

In doing so, it will take Bay opening to service the laptop.

Open myself for a RAM upgrade will void the warranty?

In addition, no one knows how much total RAM this computer supports? How many slots is there?

The page of the product didn't.

I tried to contact HP technical support by email, and I have to enter a serial number to reach them. I entered the serial number of my laptop current (and also a probook), but I think that the agent did not read my email properly. Instead of answering my question, he sent me a link to extend the warranty on my laptop today.

    Thank you...

    Hello

According to the Manual, it has 2 slots:

See Page 2, 3, 47, 48, to get the instructions before and during the replacement process. Even if it is a simple procedure if you do not have confidence in replacement, it gives to the HP service center, they will do it for you. Opening the door to service memory will not void the warranty - but if you daamage something in the replacement process, it will void the warranty.

Please get the exact configuration and preference of the same brand (like this one in the slot) of RAM, mentioned in the manual.

You can run this toolto know the details of the installed RAM sticks & moving forward with the purchase of od sizes appropriate sticks needed to make it to 8 GB in total.

  • ProBook 4510 s: probook 4510 s windows upgrade

My mother has a ProBook 4510 s, which was bought right before Windows 7 came out (all about 2009, I think) so its mobile currently works on Windows XP (32-bit processor). She does not use the computer for much - mainly domestic use for Gmail, saving photos, printing, web browsing, etc - and hopes to upgrade Windows rather than buying a new computer. He arrived at the point where she cannot even download pictures on his iPhone to computer and iTunes can be loaded on computers Windows 7 or higher.

Because she has a ton of free space, and it seems that its operating system would allow an update to Windows 7, I want to know if it is better to just move him to 7 or upgrade to Windows 10.

Hoping someone can help me to determine if it's worth the trouble to do the complete upgrade of Windows 10 - his cell phone will be able to manage the upgrade - or to just upgrade to Windows 7, and see how that works before making the switch to Windows 10 eventually.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hello:

Since there is no support W8.1, W8 and W10 driver for this model, I suggest you go on W7 and then try the W10, so that if W10 does not work, you can go back at least to W7, rather than to be up the Creek without a paddle if W10 does not work on the PC.

You should be able to use the W7 drivers for devices W10 not drivers for, but since I've not tested W10 on 4510 s, I can't tell you if it will work or not.

I tested it on the 6910p and the nc6400 and it works OK.  The only thing I didn't try was the fingerprint sensor (driver has been installed), and there is no driver for the infrared port, so I disabled the device in the BIOS, because I do not use that either.

  • ProBook 4530 s: upgrade Probook 4530 s processors

    Hi all

I have a B5N72UT Probook 4530 s age of 4 years which is very dated with his 2nd gen Core i5 processor to 2450 m. However, there is a good HDD of 750 GB. And the processors are removable, Ive double/triple checked.

I seek to speed up a bit and have been doing some research but still need some answers.

    (1) it seems that almost all trade of parts of 4530 s models, is that true?

    (2) if so, then can I replace the i5 - 2450 m 2-core with 4 - core i7-2630qm?

-L'i7-2630qm came in some models of 4530 s, I checked.

    (3) then there are 2 RAM slots. HP says max RAM is 8 GB. While that Intel says i5 - 2450 m and i7-2630qm can handle 16GB. Can I go the road of 16 GB or am I stuck at 8 GB?

    (4) if all other parts are interchangeable, so I guess I can shoot for the BluRay / DVD + RW drive other models right?

    (5) Finally, as I can change the processor, can I go to a 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th gen Core i5/i7 processor?

Sorry for all the questions. I did really want to buy a new laptop with all the specs I need, I would rather that I upgrade and get a lifetime of my Probook. The answers would be great.

    Thank you

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

I7-2670QM is highest CPU and it will fit in your motherboard.

    Max RAM is 8 GB.

Yes, you can install a Blu - Ray player instead of the DVD recorder. You can even get a generic drive and just change the front plate and mounting hardware.

You are limited to the 2d gen Core processors.

If you want it to be faster, consider a SSD drive. Overall, this will be the best upgrade you can do. Post back if you need more help with it.

  • HP Probook 4510 s gpu upgrade

    Hello

I am in possession of a 4510 s HP's Probook and I was wondering if I can get a gpu upgrade. His original CPU will also be upgraded to a t5870 a t9600.

But I can't find anywhere the list allowing GPU to my laptop. Is it possible to find a better GPU than the 4330 current?

Or I'm stuck with this one... some users of cell phones, that I heard that they have improved their GPU easly and they discovered all the upgrades that are supported by their laptops to service customer or something like that.

I wonderd if someone could point me in the right direction or to show me a list of compatibility of the GPU of my 4510 Probook s

    Hello:

The only way to update the video in most HP laptops is completely replace the motherboard by a listed in the service manual that might come with better graphics.

Normally such a business is not worth the time or expense.

The GPU is discrete or UMA, they both are soldered to the motherboard and cannot be removed or replaced.

  • HP Probook b 6450 memory upgrade question

    Hi all

I seem to have a strange question seeks to upgrade the memory in a HP 6450 b probook (i5 - 480 m & ATI card). The laptop came with 2 GB of sps p/n 598856-002, which is ram 1333 mhz 1.5V with the manufacturer being ramaxel. I ordered and installed a few sticks of kingston 4 GB

    http://h30094.www3.HP.com/product/SKU/10473659/mfg_partno/KTH-X3BS/4G

Mounted to them and all appeared to be as well as the operating system (win 7 32 bit pro) showed the recognized as 8 GB stick and 3 GB usable, the bios also reported 8 GB as well. However the moment that a 64 bit OS (Linux or Windows) is tempted to run just the laptop falls down or crashes

I already tried this upgrade with two sticks of crucial memory but had exactly the same problem, so think about crucial memory was the question I put to the supplier and ordered the kingstons rather.

I saw very similar question mentioned here:

    http://www.TomsHardware.co.UK/Forum/328016-30-memory-upgrade-ProBook

    and

    http://superuser.com/questions/580512/HP-ProBook-6450b-not-booting-after-memory-upgrade

My instinct suggests this notebook can be very picky about the memory chips, it may have to be a 4 GB key 16 chip versus chip 8 4 GB sticks.

Thoughts and help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    You are the very welcome.

Yes, I have never, ever install any module of memory in my notebooks from HP that does not 16 chips.

All the chips I use - 2 gigs and up, have 16 chips (8 on each side).

    Never had a problem.

  • HP Probook 4440 s CPU upgrade?

Hi, I have a 4440 s HP's Probook and I'm a little confused as to what UC my cell phone is compatible with. My question is to understand the type of socket. I found sources that my laptop has a G2 cpu socket that has something (that I can't fully grasp) to do with PGA988. I would buy an Intel Core i5 3380 M if possible, but it is listed as being for socket PGA988. Is this compatible with laptop CPU? I know that G2 and PGA988 socket are related in a certain way and they might be the same, but I can not find a concrete source that says that it is

You can buy from the following vendor, or use the information to buy elsewhere.

If your computer runs 64 bit OS, you can buy 8 GB (cheap) or you can buy 2 x 2 or 1 x 1 GB if you wish for 32 bit OS.

    Hey,.
I want to upgrade the processor in my hp probook 4530 s intel i3 with intel core i7-3840qm Horn I can or can't do?

There is no BIOS update that adds support for the latest processors.

Please see the link I posted and read all the notes posted for many updates to the BIOS.

You will see that it is not all the notes state that none of releases added support for new processors.

If they did, this is where we could see them.

This means that only the Intel i series core processors listed in the service manual will work.
