  I just got a new computer which has Windows 7 as operating system, previously using Win XP.  I have the original installation disc, but when I try to install my HP Photosmart 3210xi printer, it tells me that it is incompatible with my operating system.  How do I overcome this?  BTW, I can just plug in the printer and it will work, but of course I want to install it so I can use the scanner program and others.  I am not a novice, but I'm not a computer programmer that so keep that in mind!

  When I use my CD Install app, it asks my serial number, I'm going home. Then a dialog box appears to say "serial number you provided is valid, but calling it a product was not found on this computer." Which of course it wouldn't because it's a new computer.   The CS5 Installer file is the same for the upgrade and full versions. The serial number indicates the Setup program if it is complete or upgrade.

  I finally (after 5 attempts) through the swamp on the other side.

  Here's what I did...

  1 uninstalled all of the CS4 program.

  2. manually deleted the folder under Program Files Adobe

  3. Ran the CleanCS4 program, who told me that I had to run microsoft windows install clean up utility

  4. has opened a new Director on my office profile

  5 install CS4 here

  6 open photoshop

  7 open acrobat.

  (I think that's everything now works).

  I finally got to work.  If I delete the original serial number after the error, then replacement serial number I get a green check mark, and the rest goes well.

  You don't need to install CS3 at all - unless you really want to. All that is needed is CS6 installing. It will ask you a serial qualification in the upgrade process. If you offer your activations, then call support, otherwise there is no requirement for this.
