  Fixed! Instead of manually install the software on the HP site, I made sure that everything has been uninstalled and printers reset. I then rebooted and did a software update check by clicking on the Apple. The laptop then found the right software itself and it works fine.

  I had totally misunderstood, thanks for the clarification.  Since you can print from the computer, but not copying correctly, I suspect that the issue could be the lamp in the scanner. We will perform a hard reset. To do this, leave the printer and disconnect the power supply for 1 minute.   OK, we know that's not the material of the PSC 1310, that we are able to get the color on the diagnostic print page. So that leads me to believe he has associated software, something in the settings of printing or drivers are causing to print in black and white only.   The printer will print not a WORD doc due to a false paper jam.  It will print a scanned doc that proves that there is no paper jam. The document remains in Quebec, and when I click on the printer icon, and open the folder it says "paper jam".   How can I get the printer to recognize that there is no paper jam?  Operating system is VISTA.

  My psc 1210xi all in one does not. I was able to use the copy feature stand alone and also print a document from my hp laptop (Windows 7) successfully last night. (After plugging on this laptop for the first time by the way.) Now I am trying to print a document and it will be queued, but never print.  I tried to copy something to see if it would work and it copied correctly. It is a problem between my computer and the printer I guess.

  Tried unplugging and waiting, then reconnect. NA not doing things running.

  I read a post where it was suggested to remove items from the queue and I tried it. I tried printing again later and it will not print.

  This printer is set as default printer. Nothing more (CD, instructions, etc.) accompanying. The ink is brand new and the printer is not jammed or showing signs of error paper.

  She just never print what is in the queue. Thank you for your help.

  OK got it works by trying the spool print cancel and restart method ONE MORE than TIME. Not sure if I just did not it properly the first time, or if the printer Goblin left to go bother someone else. Thank you very much.

  Hi jim: I just had the same problem a few minutes ago. After having gone through all the troubleshooting steps, I realized it was all just a bad cartridge. The PIN on the printer heads were not reading the new cartridge, so nothing in black print could be printed. I installed a new black cartridge and I could resume my printing projects. I then contacted the HP store directly to report the faulty cartridge while they could send me a new, that I won't be out of pocket for a cartridge I bought directly from them.
