HP scanner hangs in OSX Lion

I' My Imac running 10.7.4 and using a HP Officejet Pro 8500 (A909g).

After the OSLion, I discovered that HP Scan blocking the opening.  I get the following message:

----------------

Scanner HP cannot be opened because of a problem - check with the developer to make sure that HP Scan works with this version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Don't forget to install the updates that are available for the application and Mac OS X.
Click report to display more detailed information and send a report to Apple.

--------------

The printer and copier respect work very well and I don't want to do anything that will mess that up, but I have to be able to scan.

I do not use the fax fnctionality these days here (no land line), so I don't know if that is affected or not.

Any advice on downloading a new version of HP scanning or another scanning pilot would be appreciated.

I have rooted a bit online, but haven't found a solution adapted.

Thank you.

Hello

The application of scanning HP for your printer is not compatible with Lion.

Please be sure to update the latest drivers by clicking the Apple icon, then click on software update and do not forget to install any available HP update.

After updating the drivers, you can scan using one of the following supported methods:

    Hello
I'm afraid that scanning is no longer supported by Mac OS X 10.5 and below.

As you may find listed by the document below under OS X 10.5, the same information applies to any newer OS:

  • OSX Lion Scanner driver for LaserJet 2840

Is there really no solution for Lion to Scan over the network to the HP 2840. I'm really surprised because I chose the HP 2840 because it turns out Mac OSX Support and made unter 10.4 and 10.5, even on 10.6 that I managed to make it work this time on 10.7 Lion, it would be very sad if HP not to manage to continue to support this great product.

    All advice appreciated.

  • Bookmarks drop down the list too wide Firefox Mac OSX Lion 31

When I click on the drop down bookmarks menu, it's too wide. If there is a folder in the contents list shown far right. At the point where I'm moving the mouse on there where the contents of the folder is it disappears. Am on Mac OSX Lion. I tried to scroll on the corners and sides of the drop down list to search again for the sizing handles, but none are. It is not just Firefox 31 version as has happened for some time. Any ideas please?

Which may be caused by the presence of a few bookmarks with a long title in the main menu of bookmarks.
The width of a column in the list of bookmarks is in the current versions of Firefox automatically adjusted the bookmark with the longest name.
You can check the names of the bookmarks and the longer more short.

  • How can I disable the back and gestures toward the front in F9 for OSX Lion?

The new gestures in Firefox 9 to OSX Lion, which allow you to navigate forward and backward with a sweep two fingers are driving me crazy.

I like the idea, but it is much too sensitive. Whenever I'm trying to scroll to the top or bottom of a page (which uses also two fingers), I accidentally go back because apparently I don't have the skills to drag and down the pad perfectly superimposed.

If the function has been adjusted so that drag it back was not so sensitive, it would be a wonderful feature. But as it is currently, it is to destroy my browsing experience in Firefox to the point where I am considering to switch browsers.

I have not found a way to disable this feature just and only in Firefox. Help?

You can set preferences related gesture for a string value empty on the subject: config page.

To open the topic: config page, type Subject: config in the address bar (address) and press the 'Enter' key, as you type the url of a Web site to open a Web site.

If you see a warning so that you can confirm that you want to access the comments: config page.

    • Use the filter at the top bar of the on: page config to more easily spot a preference.

    Filter: gesture

Double-click on the line with the pref of the gesture that you want to disable and delete its value.

  • Need help to set up officejet pro 8600 and scanning to the network on OSX Lion folder

    Hello

I'm trying to implement my Officejet Pro 8600 more scan to a network under OSX Lion folder.  I have correctly set up the printer otherwise (and can scan and flown from my Mac).  I created SMB sharing as described in the documentation.  My only question is what to enter in the Web server of the printer when it asks for the network path of the shared folder.

For example, I have the following shared folder:

    / Users/me/Documents/scans/Durable goods received

on my computer that has name is:

    My iMac

    has an IP address:

    172.16.1.4

wonder web server of the printer a network path (for example: \\mypc\sharedfolder) but I do not know how to translate my way above in the correct format.

    I tried the following:

    AFP://172.16.1.4//users/me/documents/scans/durable------Goods\ recipes

    but he doesn't like it.

    I also tried:

    Recipes of \\172.16.1.4\Users\bvz\Documents\scans\Durable of goods.

    Nothing helps.

Thanks for any help or ideas!

    Hello

First of all, make sure to install the latest firmware for the printer.

SMBX (used by Lion sharing protocol) support added lately, and the device fails to access any forlder Lion shared with an older FW version:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02919168

You have shared the folder durable goods received ?

If so, I guess the correct path would be as follows:

    \\172.16.1.4\Durable goods received

Please let me know of any changes,

  • How can I connect HP ENVY 110 d411a (white) for the MacBook Pro OSX Lion running through a wi - fi connection?

And how can I use the AirPrint.

(I'm not English, sorry for my bad English)

    1.

    Hello

I bought a HP ENVY 110 d411a (white) on the last day, but I have different problems trying to configure it.

I did all the settings of the printer and properly installed the CD rom on 2 PC running Windows XP. (All works) I also tried the ePrint and it works without problem.

Problems come when I tried to implement it in my book for Mac OSX Lion running. I downloaded the "ENVY-110 - series_v12.14.0.dmg" from the HP site, but it seems that the computer cannot detect the printer wi - fi thorugh, even though they connect on the same wi - fi. Reading this forum I also installed an additional update "HP_Scan_for_Mac_OS_X_10.7_Update.dmg" and "support.apple.com/kb/DL907" Also I tried to unstall all and reinstall another time.

I'm sure that the printer is on the same wi - fi, I know not wi - fi is active, because the other PC I can print and scan, I'm sure it has a regualr IP address, the printer is new (2 days) and my MacBook is updated to the latest firmware.

    What can I do else?

    2.

My other question is how can I enable the AirPrint? I tried to detect the printer from the phone, but he can't find anything...

I read that this requires an update of the printer, but I already checked the updates and it says that the latest firmware is already installed...

Can you help at least with the first point?

OK, thanks for that.  This problem is with your router.  Your Mac uses Hello (also called mDNS) to find your printer.  If the router does not support this, your Mac will never see it.  It is a common problem with routers provided by the ISP.

I would recommend that you contact your ISP and either resolve the issue or give you a router that supports mDNS.  Last resort, you can get your own router and just use the modem from the ISP box part.

  • Since I have OSX Lion I can't print/scanning wireless more with my HP Photosmart Plus B210?

Given that I've upgraded to OsX Lion my HP Photosmart Plus B210 stopped working corrctly.

I uninstalled and reinstalled but ntohing worked.

The report of the printer tells me that my printer is connected correctly.

Have you installed using the installation disc?

If so, make sure to install the Compatible Lion software below:

First, uninstall completely any software installed:

    * Please note that the following steps will delete all HP software installed.
    1. click on menu go (click the desktop, then watch the menu in the bar at the top of the page)
    2. Select Applications
    3 select the Hewlett-Packard folder
    4. double-click on uninstall HP application
5 follow the uninstall to prompt to select a device to uninstall
    6. press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Cmd keys on the keyboard at the same time as you click on uninstall
7 approve any prompt to uninstall all HP software.

Then download and install the Lion software for your printer below:

    http://FTP.HP.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL39592/Al-96582-1/HP_Lion_Ink_SW_v12.13.24.dmg

Please let me know if that helps.

  • No drivers on the HP PhotoSmart C4580 for Mac OSX Lion site

I have a Photosmart C4580. I upgraded my Mac OSX Lion book about 6 months ago. Reinstalled the printer software and had no problems. It is up to AT & T Uverse sent me a new gateway/modem. I have of course with the new wireless modem get the printer connected to the network. I couldn't get this to work so I decided to uninstall and reinstall the printer. When I go to the HP website there are no drivers for this printer for Mac OSX. I'm not a tech savvy person, btw. Thank you.

It seems that you have installed the printer twice and there is some sort of bug with the printer 'offline '. I would just move forward a delete it if everything works as it should with the new printer 'lazy '.

  • Mac OSX Lion in ESX 5.1 does not start

    Hello

I have a virtual machine to work in "VMWare Workstation 8.x" with Mac OSX Lion (I corrected my computer to do).

I converted this virtual machine with VMWare Converter Standalone 5.1.x in vSphere ESX 5.1 and, after the successful conversion, I properly configure the type of operating system like Mac OS Lion.

In ESX, the virtual machine starts, but stuck with the Apple logo and the spinning wheel of progress. So my questions are:

    • Do you have advice on how to fix this?
    • How to enter in "verbose" mode in vSphere? I tried to delay the start and be ready to press the two 'CTRL + v' or 'WIN + v' or 'ALT + v', but nothing has worked.

    Thank you!

    Eddie C.

The problem here is that you violate Apple's EULA, no one here will be able to help since it is breaking this rules of communities.

To virtualize OS x, you must run on Apple hardware.

  • Mac OSX Lion does not install

    Hello

I use ESXi 5.1 HP on the server of the Gen8 identification mark

Install a new virtual machine to run a MAC OSX Lion

Copied on the Mac to install OS X Lion.app in the data store.

Started the VM which seems ok. The apple screen is popping up and spinning CD is running.

It ends there, with no further action.

Computer configured virtual: 8 GB 4 CPU - 300 GB disk

Also tried on by converting the dmg to iso-> no luck

    Any idea is welcome.

    Joe

To legally install this OS in a virtual machine, the underlying hardware that ESXi is installed on must be Apple.

Discuss this further in these communities would be a violation of the terms of use.

  • OSX Lion 10.7.3 cannot install Vmware Tools

Hi guys im running windows 7 with Vmware Workstation 8 virtual machine of OSX Lion 10.7.3 all works well except that I can't install the tools when I click on installation tools I get this error "cannot find compononent on the update server. Contact VMware Support or your system administrator. "I searched and couldn't find a useful link. Can someone help me please?

If you contact VMware support they will tell you that OSX running inside the workstation is illegal because it violates the MAC OS x EULA.
