HP split 13-m110dx Tablet window logo light remains lit while you sleep.

When I split the tablet of the keyboard, the lego window lights. Even if the Tablet is sleeping. There was a discharge of the battery of 26% in an hour and he was asleep. From time to time the screen would come back and go back asleep. I have the hp split 13-m110dx x 2.

Hi @mikjben, welcome to the Forums of HP. I understand that your Windows button remains lit when detached, even in mode "Eve".

Try the configuration in hibernation, to see if the button turns off then: Manage the power (Windows 8) Options

If this is not the case, go through power options and see if there is a specific entry for the Windows button. Let me know what you come up with.

  • Turn off the backlight of Split X 2 Tablet Windows Logo key

When you use the computer in tablet mode, the "home" button for Windows logo on the bottom of the frame lights up bright white. Is there a way to turn this light off? At night, it's blatant and annoying.

I found a solution. It's a little dramatic, but it is effective.

I downloaded the service manual for the system see if I could identify the material associated with the button. It seems that the 'button' appearance is actually only a part of the touchscreen table. The "Backlight" is a completely independent piece of equipment. On page 63 of the manual, the component is called the 'Home LED Board'.

To get a better idea of what looks like this 'advice', I used the number of terms of reference to find the part on ebay:

I have concluded that the simplest action plan would be to simply shut off the power to this Commission. I removed the two screws on the base of the Tablet, then removed the two screws. Use a spudger, I coaxed the back cover of the case open to expose the circuits below. I don't have to remove the cover. There, I could see a small black cable.

I used very narrow beaks pliers to disconnect the cable.

I tightened the lid back and replaced the screws and covers.

Voila! The backlight of the 'home' button is now disabled and the button itself is still working and still causes haptic. It is a reversible hardware change as the cable can just be reconnected if necessary. For the most part, I can't the need for this blatant backlight, in any case.

I hope this helps someone else out there!

  • The software you are installing has not passed Windows logo testing to to verify its compatibility with Windows XP. (Tell me why this testing is important) IM TRYING TO INSTALL A M-AUDIO FAST TRACK PRO.

I am installing a M-Audio Fast Track Pro. It is a USB Audio Interface that allows me to record music. In the included installation, it gave me instructions to update my driver, so it might work. I installed and ran. But when I clicked on the button run the message about Windows logo test appears. The minimum requirements for the installation of the M-Audio is Pentium III 500 MHz with 256 MB of RAM, Windows XP (SP2), Direct X 9.0 c and a USB port. I don't know if it's relevant to my question, but I'm also not how do I know if I have fulfilled these conditions. I'd appreciate any help you can provide. Please and thank you for your time.

You can ask the manufacturer of the software with a signature digital signature that will pass the Windows logo test, but probably do you. Please help on how to enable the windows logo keys.

    Thank you

The issue of the device here seems to be "what program or process disabled Windows key?'.»»

Some programs disables the Windows key while they are running. Some dedicated (including gamer KBs) keyboards have a physical switch that disables the Windows key. There are several small software applications that offer a software control of the keyboard like AutoHotKey that can control the button of Windows script . There is also a registry setting, but it is unlikely that it is the culprit, if it has been disabled by mistake. My wireless after-market keyboard has a cmdlet that alow me to disable the Windows key.

It looks like one or more of the boot loader files has been corrupted.

You need access to a PC for this phase of work in order to create the necessary support to fix your PC boot loader.

You will need to create something called a CD-ROM of repair of Win7. This will repair the boot loader files, and if that is the problem, your PC will start OK after that.  Yes, it's for Win7, but Vista uses the same bootstrapper, so you can use Win7 to repair the Vista bootloader files.

The file you need can be obtained (with supplement) from this link: http://neosmart.net/blog/2009/windows-7-system-repair-discs/

When you download this file, it will be an ISO file.

To make a CD bootable it, you will need to download and install ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/

Once you have installed, run, select the option "Save image to disk file" and select the downloaded ISO file and that it points to a blank CD.

To make a USB bootable of it, you will need to download and install RUFUS: https://rufus.akeo.ie/

Once you have that, it is executed in the input of the unit, use the drop down menu to select the USB stick.  Near the bottom right, where is written 'Create a bootdisk to aid', select the ISO file downloaded.
    -------------------------------------

Boot from the media that you have created and follow the instructions in this link: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/681-startup-repair.html

You will probably need to run Startup Repair three times for him to fix all the boot loader.

Once completed, your PC should start OK.

If it isn't, then some files of the operating system has also been corrupted and the only way to fix it would be to perform a system recovery - which if F11 does not work, but a recovery from the PC to its original using recovery media state.

Problem there is that HP no longer wears a recovery media for the Vista PC, so you should check to see if these sites still have it: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

    Good luck

This is the first time we had a problem with this laptop

Last night, that the laptop has gone through several sessions of startup repair - none could help Windows running again.

I feared a failure of the hard disk so the next day, I ran a diag of BIOS hard disk.  All tests passed.

This morning I tried again to turn on the laptop and it worked execpt the color windows logo four is missing on windows to the opening screen.  Appears in the bar of the process.  And it seems to have very well come in addition to the missing logo.

The only other thing is that it is disconnected for about a week.  Last night, I noticed the "lightning bolt" light was on and today it isn't.

  • Unable to boot after Windows logo

original title: My Vista Basic Edition open habit. As soon as Microsoft logo lights, my computer gives a Windows error message.

Before my computer crashed, he was downloading 12 'important' files from microsoft. When it restarted, it began to open with the logo of compaq, then, the windows logo, then I get a "Windows error" message.  He said that I should reinstall Windows disk.  My computer came with a preinstalled on vista. I used the recovery disc that I bought from HP to restart the computer. I made sure the start setting would be on the CD mode first (from the site of Bios). When I tried to reboot, it would have read always not the recovery disc. I got some tips on this Web site about what to do, and he said to recreate a Windows recovery disk. I did as instructed, and yet with this new disc, my computer won't get past stage logo before a loop is executed by restarting itself. I can't get into safe mode, I can enter the BIOS mode, but clicking on reset default (f9) does not solve the system. It says there's something load in my computer - I can't fix because I can't past the point of the loop. can you help me please?

Restart your computer and press the F8 key until you reach the Advanced Startup Menu of Options. Select Safe Mode and System Restore. If the problem persists, restart the computer and press the F8 key. When you reach the menu Advanced Startup Options select turn off automatic error system reboot. Restart the computer normally and post the error here.

  • Laptop screen stays black with the mouse cursor only after that comes the HP and Windows logo

    Hi all

No, my laptop model is HP Pavilion dv6 1337tx. My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit. So, today, I shut my laptop down by force by pressing the power button because it did not at this time. Then the next time I turned it the wrong problem started. Whenever I'm on the HP logo sometimes and then the Windows logo comes also. But then the screen stays black and the mouse cursor appears. So, what can be the cause of this problem? I also tried to open with 'safe mode' and 'safe mode with command prompt', but they did not help either.

Note - I tried the method of discharge after taking off the battery and holding down the power button. He could not help. All LEDS are working properly. I have no extra monitor, so I can't check the display elsewhere. Also, I ran the memory test which shows that everything is fine. Please suggest what I can do now as I can not enter the laptop now. What can be the reason?

    Help please.

    Hello

303 error code is a Smart failure for the tough and would indicate that it should be replaced.  This is also consistent with the startup problem you describe in your initial post.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United Kingdom, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, let me know.

    Kind regards

  • ePrint does not print web pages of Tablet Windows 8 Microsoft Surface

ePrint does not print web pages of Windows 8 (x 64) Microsoft Surface Tablet

    Any ideas?

    Hello JereTanner,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see you are trying to print web pages of a tablet of Surface. What model printer you are trying to print to? Also, is there an error, message, etc., when you try to print?

In general, ePrint is used when printing emails or transmission of documents / photos to the printer address, is the next how you try to print a web page?

Since it is a Windows 8 operating system, you can be able to install the full features software and print that way. When I know more about how you want to print, what happens when you try and which printer you are using, I will be able to help.
