HP Support Assistant asking to redo the backup set
I already have backup/restore disks for my HP Windows 7 computer. He nagging guard make me again. I tried to force and wastes 3 DVDs just to shut up. Unfortunately, he knows I did the drive in the value! How I locked this thing?
OK, we need to remove the program from HP support first if you don't know how to do this, click on this link and it will show you.
Once you see the list of programs, locate the HP support assistant do a right click on it and left click on uninstall, it is a fairly large program, so it will take a while.
Once this is done, restart the computer, once the computer is to click on this linkand press the download button to start the installation. Now, there is a good chance it will prompt you to repeat disc only because it is a new version of the software. If it follows the screenshots below to get rid of it: If the message comes up it will be under the HP messages section.

HPSA gives a false update of the notification you and suggest that you disable the notification. It is one of the many problems besetting the HPSA in Windows 8.

How to choose the size of the backup set? Small or large? What would we be better? We have the archivelog 250 MB. Size of the backup set for archivelogs is 300 MB. Is it enough or we should change? The bandwidth and the number of the Chanel play a role too?

If you are askig for your logs archiving that is only 250 MB, so you need to have several channels and don't worry abt the size of the backup set for that much archive logs,
You must take into account the channesla when you are in large number of saved data files.

HP Support Assistant unable to complete the download of updates
I have a laptop DV7 4083 CL running under Windows 7 64-bit. When a Support Assistant development is underway, it never completes the "download updates" task. I can leave it all night, and it crashes at this time. I installed the latest version and still have the same problem.
Just so you know, I recently received the prompt to update Support Assistant on my DV7. The update seems to have very well and run the melody in granted it took a few hours.

Restore will not ask for ALL my backup set.
Had to replace a failing hard drive. The whole process of installation and update of all my software went seamlessly. Restore my PERSONAL files, however, has been a nightmare.
I have a set of 3 backup disks (each successive), but has asked only the FIRST restore disc and then (VERY briefly) used the other.
Unfortunately, not all the files that he handed in my hard drive are the latest versions, and some of my files are still missing.
QUESTION: How can I force restore to call for ALL 3 of the consecutive backup drives before he leaves?
I've been at this for hours, and I got it about. GRRRR.

I'm trying to reduce the amount of space that my Windows 7 backup uses so I've come to the place in Windows 7 backup:
Manage space > view backups...I am then presented a list of three backup sets:
01/03/2012 to 01/04/2012
12/07/2011 to 12/21/2011
23/11/2011 to 30/11/2011I would like to remove the older two, leaving the most recent. However, this doesn't seem to work as expected. If I try to delete one of the two most recent ones (the first two in the list above) I get the following warning "Are you sure you want to delete this backup file.
However, if I try to delete the last one in the list, I get a slightly different error "Are you sure you want to remove the most recent data of the file backup?"-sounds strange because it is clearly not the most recent backup according to the dates it's show.
Of course, I can go ahead and ignore the warnings, but I fear that maybe there are some files in the last backup the value in the list that may not be right more recent set backs.
In 2011, I thought this might be something wrong with the date formats vs US UK (I am in England so the above dates are in dd/mm/yyyy format and not in jj/mm/aaaa) - but now it's 2012 and I backup from 2012 and 2011 games and he always seems to think that the oldest backup of 2011 is the most recent.
Any ideas? Can I delete the oldest backup sets (that is, the two that are from 2011) safely?

My problem is that I recently had a HP Support Assistant alert to download the new HP Support Assistant for the latest features.
Well I tried to download the update, but it would not install? I'll go through the events on the screen and maybe you can inform me as to why this update for the new Assistant support will not correctly installed, thank you. Everything goes up to 4. Then it will skip "Download updates" and go on 5 /, but nothing happens?
Point adjustment 1/restore... pass; 2 disk space / audit... pass. 3 / connecting to HP services for new updates and alerts... pass. 4 / download updates... N/a; 5 / install/apply the selected items... no?
Should I have to uninstall the version that I already have the update through and re - install a new Version, or you have any patch that can be applied to make this update installs successfully?

I tried again since my last email with the problem where I couldn't find the program once it is downloaded, and alongside the race/Save little was downloaded files. I clicked on it and watched the sp54931.ex download in a folder "view and track downloads. I then told run this and asked that my administrative password. I thought here goes while I'm waiting for a response from you, nothing to lose to new and low and here is the update for the new Version HP Support Assistant downloaded correctly. Since then, I had a glance in the desktop program and there is no warning, everything is up-to-date.
If all is well now and I can't thank you enough for all your help to try to solve this problem for me. You are the experts, and I was just lucky. I sincerely thank you.

Can't find the HP Support Assistant icon on taskbar!
I was using a HP Pavilion notebook g4-1024tx. He has been using Windows 7. HP Support Assistant version, I used is 7.0.39.17. Today, when I use my computer, he suddenly asked me to restart my computer. So, I closed all the windows of my and restarted. After the reboot, I never review the HP Support Assistant icon on the taskbar. I tried the icon but I could not find. I enter the HP Support Assistant Main icon from the desktop. I went into settings and check "display an icon in your taskbar. The icon changes, based on the type of message or update". I clicked on the Save"" button. But nothing happened! What's not?

HP15-ac103na: HP Support Assistant on the new laptop

I have a new notebook HP15 running WIndows 10, so I'm new to all this.
The HP Support Assistant icon appeared in the taskbar with a double exclamation point on it. When I move the mouse over it, it says "Significant action", but when I click it, there is nothing I can do. HP Support Assistant window is disabled by a screen of welcome in front of her, and the next in the Welcome screen button is also disabled. So I can choose my preferences to update etc, but I can't turn them on or go beyond the Welcome screen.
Is it me, or is there something wrong?

Removal of HP Support Assistant in the bar of
The HP Support Assistant is preinstalled on my computer laptop touch screen and the icon appears as a big question mark at the bottom right of my screen on my bar tasks. Therefore, I am constantly bumped the icon when I scroll a window (for example, the browser) using the touch screen ability.
I don't want to uninstall the HP Support Assistant software... I find useful features. But is it possible that I can get rid of the taskbar icon in the right corner?
I know I can hide the taskbar, or I can move the taskbar to the top or left of the screen, but I'm used to it where it is. I just want to get rid of the icon.

Open HP Support Assistant, select "Updates and the updates of." Click on "Other settings" at the bottom left, then uncheck the taskbar options in the section "How do you want to be informed?

Maintaining HP Support Assistant telling me to download and install a Cyberlink PowerDVD to sp63146.exe, even if I downloaded it, installed and rebooted my computer 3 times or more. You could try the following:
Control Panel > display icon > programs and features >
Scroll down, find and uninstall HP Support hasWizard.
Restart your computer after uninstalling the existing version of the Support Assistant.
Download and install the latest version of the HPSA:
Restart / reboot the computer and log in

- Open HPSA > click "updates and optimizations" (wording may slightly differ) >
- Select them Updates settings and messages >
Under ' how would you like to receive updated software and messages from HP?
- Select in the menu dropdown:
Search for updates, but let me choose whether to download and install them
Always in the updates and optimizations >
- Check / initiate a list of available updates >
- If the offending hotfix package is still listed, then click on it (maybe right-click?) and a value of 'Ignore' or 'hide' this package
> Once 'Hidden', the package should not display longer towards the top of the list of available updates.

In particular, it is the opinion of this Expert that you ban HPSA to download and install a BIOS update on your computer. You should always, in the opinion of this Expert, look for the updates to the BIOS on the website of your computer and only download and install a BIOS update when the update is directly applicable to your situation or if you are having problems with your computer.
