HP Support Assistant, failure to update software Synaptics and Cyberlink

I just ran the Tune Up on the HP Support Assistant.

All other software updated with success, but Synaptic Touchpad Driver and software Cyberlink YouCam has failed to update.

All other parts of the Tune Up has worked successfully.

No doubt there is a process that I have to finish before they will update successfully.  Anyone have any ideas?

  • MFP M477 fdw: HP Support Assistant keeps DEMANDING a software update that does not need

Every once in a while the wizard for help in the status bar gives me two exclamation points (!) and says that I have an update for my laser printer.  This is the same version I already have.  I had absolutely no problem with the printer, but let the update anyway.    Now he tells me a week later I have ANOTHER update.  I checked and the last update for my printer was in may 2016.

My big problem is that I don't see a way to simply reject the application to update.  Whenever the computer starts, it is always whining to update.  I need to remove the program to stop this?  I like the idea of HP, which suggests an update, but not if it won't let you alone until you do, even if it's useless.

Boy, I wish I had a way to reject the request.  Someone knows a way to do

    Fine thanks

  • DV6-7214 dead with PLAYER MSATA C after hp support assistant, new bios update. 18/05/13

I've postponed an update of the bios, because it makes me nervous. Apparently for good reason.

Today, I let the horse do the update of bios on my win8 race dv6-7214.

He said he was doing a system restore point, but that seems to have been unnecessary.

The laptop has a black screen after an hour of "reboot", so I've turned off.

Turn on the screen remains black.

No response to any prerssed keys after power, as the ESC key.

I have read several messages that need to roll back updates of bios, which does not say much for HP regarding

that it is a recurring problem.

I do NOT get a blue screen, getting not nothing at all.

Is there a way to roll back a short bios to ship to HP?

I did not write down the version of the bios, just trust it was necessary. Don't let hp support assistant to run anything else.

I guess that I will uninstall HP support assistant, if I never recover my computer to the point where it can turn on.

Can not think of a software bug as bad as loaded by hp in my bios.

Anyone? How do I reset the bios with a completely insensitive laptop?

Thank you chryig, but none that did not work.

HP support has sent the same solution.

The dv6-7214 has an msata slot, which can be configured as C drive, I did with an msata ssd.

The drive that came with the laptop was in the sata slot, as usual, but was not C drive.

I found someone announcement the same problem, no black screen, (not blue screen) no error message, just in bricks.

There is also a disc SSD C.

I tried to temporarily move the msata on slot sata (with an adapter). This allowed the bios end

    its update.

So it's not the Bios that is broken, but the software to perform the update to the bios is broken.

Update (bios) fails if drive C is anywhere but the sata slot (or perhaps the c drive should be drive 0).

I hope that HP will fix this problem. A lot of laptops HP is sold 'improved' with an extra via disk

value added reseller. Since there are only 2 slots under that drive C may be in, sata and 1 msata

should be possible to update the bios software to manage this small number of possibilities.

  • HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p204: UPDATE of HP SUPPORT ASSISTANT HP BIOS update for Intel processor (F43) - SHOWING AGAIN

    Hello

I am new to the community of HP.

I'm having a problem. Well, I can't really say it is a MAJOR problem because there is no threat to the system or anything, it's just one of those little annoying things.

Yesterday, I updated my BIOS F.43 after being invited by HP support assistant. Update succeeded, charged back up the laptop, and the watch update STILL not installed on the HP support assistant. I reinstalled it and it still shows the same thing.

It's just a bug and it is really installed and the wizard of support has not been updated?

    Thank you

    Hi @GarethWilliamss,

Thanks for posting in the Forums of HP and welcome.

I read on the HP Support Assistant and prompt you to download on your HP Pavilion Notebook 15 - p204. As you can imagine this is a glitch. Ignore the update.

    I hope this helps.

Please let me know if this help solve the problem by marking this post as accept as a Solution.

  • Laptop does not start after HP Support Assistant ran some update

    ENVY of HP dv7-7387er

Yesterday my HP Support Assistant showed a message that there are a few critical updates. I confirmed to download and install it. After it was something like the BIOS update. And now my computer will not boot (black screen, no sound, only power led is on). I have to postpone my trip to fix. Can help you with something?

I tried http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01443371 , but it did not help.

Has been useful for me this: remove the battery, wait 1 hour, insert the battery, turn on the laptop and everything works ok. The key was - remove the battery for a long time.

  • HP Support Assistant Defragent disk running 16 hours and counting...

I bought this HP Pavilion P6755 (Windows 7 64-bit) about two months and it is a great machine to use.  However later I had on two occasions has experienced a blue screen, I thought I could used the pre-installed HP Support Assistant to try to improve the performance of the machine.  Then I started the update and he passed smoothly up to the part of Microsft Windows Disk defragment, where trotted as always...

I tried twice, the first run, I let it go for about 14 hours with no luck. the second time I let the process of development for more than 24 hours and when I came back to check it was still marching tune-up?

I closed this update to half way and started the window of defragmentation tool, and it took less than half an hour to complete the process without any problem at all.

So what is happening with this update under Hp Support Assistant?

I have ensured that the Windows 7 operating system has the latest updates, HP Support Assistant in its latest version.

Another thing so: HP ProBook I use at wwork completes the process of development without problem at all.

Anyone here has the same problem?

My PC has i5 and 1 TB hard drive; I used the HP Support Assistant to perform a check of the HARD drive and that you did not no problem either.

Thanks for any input or possible solution.

    Hello
    Welcome to the HP Forum!

I recommend that you update the HP Support Assistant. Go on the web portal of support for your office and in the software & Drivers section find the update, download and install it. I would have linked directly to the update for you, but you left the last alphanumeric (s) for your office product name identifier.

    Kind regards

  • Compaq Presario CQ71-320SA: failure of the update of the BIOS via Support Assistant / should I update anyway?

This morning I found that my laptop had not finished closing 8 hours ago. I stopped by pressing the button Off for 6 seconds and restarted. I then looked a likely cause and saw that a BIOS problem was probably the cause.

I'm went to the site of HP support & with information about http://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c00007682, I followed step 1 and I saw that my BIOS is F.11 21/08/2009.

Support site told me that I need F.11Rev1/20/10/2014. I installed, rebooted and saw that he had failed.

What's worse, is that the program Insyde update it says that the 2009 version is updated - see below.

More old Compaq Presario CQ71-320SA screwed up by free upgrade from Microsoft of Win7 for Win10

    Hello

You can manually update the BIOS for your laptop by downloading from the link below:

The current version available is F.23

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp51501-52000/sp51527.exe

Once the download is complete, double-click the downloaded file and follow the instructions on the screen.

You will notice may-continuous display blank for a few seconds, which is quite normal. Once the update is actually the device automatically restarts.

Note to back up your data before performing the update. Also have your adapter connected to the laptop.

  • Product number: M2C19UA #ABL: HP Support Assistant not download updates

Upgrade to windows 10 at the day of purchase, everything works well.  HPSA informs that there are updates to be downloaded and installed. Wizard creates a restore point and connects to HP servers, then begins to download for the first update.  After 4 hours, nothing is downloaded and the program seems to be frozen.  Need to put an end to the task with the Task Manager to exit.  Have tried several times but the result is the same.

    Any suggestions or help appreciated.

    Welcome to the HP Forum!

    You could try the following:

Control Panel > display icon > programs and features >

Scroll down, find and uninstall HP Support hasWizard.

Restart your computer after uninstalling the existing version of the Support Assistant.

Download and install the latest version of the HPSA:

    HP Support Assistant

Restart / reboot the computer and log in

    =====================================================================================

If the problem persists, you can try:

    • Open HPSA > click "updates and optimizations" (wording may slightly differ) >
    • Select them Updates settings and messages >

Under ' how would you like to receive updated software and messages from HP?

    • Select in the menu dropdown:

Search for updates, but let me choose whether to download and install them

Always in the updates and optimizations >

    • Check / initiate a list of available updates >
    • If the offending hotfix package is still listed, then click on it (maybe right-click?) and a value of 'Ignore' or 'hide' this package

    > Once 'Hidden', the package should not display longer towards the top of the list of available updates.

    Comment

In particular, it is the opinion of this Expert that you ban HPSA to download and install a BIOS update on your computer.  You should always, in the opinion of this Expert, look for the updates to the BIOS on the website of your computer and only download and install a BIOS update when the update is directly applicable to your situation or if you are having problems with your computer.

  • HP Support Assistant - update for Ralink August 2013

I posted this under the hardware because it's the Ralink WiFi card, but the problem is an HP support Assistant update then maybe I should have posted here in the software.  Thought I'd try again; no answer on Forum hardware.

    13/11/2013-19:46

    Hello mpw101

If I understand correctly, you have a desktop PC HP Pavilion p6 - 2220t CTO and run the Ralink SP62055.exe? I have no idea why the Support Assistant recommend this update because it is to the computers of Business model and not your computer. I recommend that you follow the instructions below.

Step 1. Download this driver to your computer

Step 2. Go in Device Manager

Step 3. Right-click on the Ralink Wireless and uninstall (check that you delete the driver when prompted)

Step 4. Double-click the file you downloaded and install it as it's the right driver Ralink for your computer

This should solve your problem. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • BIOS update HP Support Assistant

Hi guys, I am experiensing a problem while trying to update the Bios with HP Support Assistant. The update downloads very well but the instalation fails. I looked in the page to download manually, but this update doesen't show up http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4158&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5360...

Is there any place where I can find the file downloaded by HP Support Assistant to install it manually?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi JeroB

Please remove the second image you downloaded. It betrays everything on your system, including the serial number of hackers from around the world.

About the BIOS, please do not install any update of the BIOS via HPSA & if at all a need arises due to a malfunction, you only need to download and install your product Web page.

Please read the comment of the Expert (Dragon-fur) about it from following link:

  • HP laptop - 15-ay011nr: HP Support Assistant suggests an incompatible update to my system

    Hello

HP Support Assistant suggested three updates for my system.

When you try to download the wizard, all of the facilities have not (a phenomenon that has been described by some other posters in this forum).

So, I looked for each three updates directly in the HP site, after finding my computer and the operating system (HP for computer laptop 15-ay011nr, 10 64-bit Windows).

I have found two of the updates, but not the third, called: "Intel WLAN for Micorsoft Windows", with Softpaq number SP76133, version 18.40.0.9Pp2, if it is relevant.

When I reviewed this softpaq number in the site, I have found, but saw that it's only for windows 7 and 8.

Why the HP support assistant that suggest an update for my system win 10?

Am I supposed to download it?

If not, is there a way to stop the support Wizard to think that I should install it?

    Thank you!

    Eitan

Hey there! @Eitan_L, thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support!
