HP Support Asst replace HP Advisor in Win7?

I did an upgrade to Windows 7 and still have the HP Advisor Vista.  I note in the downloads of software and the driver Win 7 for my HDX 18, there is no entry for HP Advisor but now there's one for HP Support Assistant.  Which replaces the Advisor?  The wizard help she still has the dashboard with the battery and hard drive counters or is this completely different software?

Thank you

Dave

HP Support Assistant replaces HP Advisor. Even if HP Advisor seems to work, you can uninstall safely in Windows 7.

There always check the stack of software, hard disk counters and driver HP updates feature, but it offers much greater depth of data on your computer than what HP Advisor provides. It can also make a much more complete development of your computer.

I hope this helps!

  • HARD drive replacement, how to install Win7 on my Satellite L850?

    Hello world

I recently bought a Satellite L850 lappy and I want to replace the 750 GB HDD with a SSD 256 GB.
This laptop never came with a windows 7 cd or its driver cd (not too worried about it as I can find it online).

I wonder how to install windows 7 on this ssd? Download windows 7 image from a Web site (found this [http://www.mydigitallife.info/windows-7-iso-x86-and-x64-official-direct-download-links-ultimate-professional-and-home-premium/]) and just enter my product key when you are prompted as a whole to the top?

I'm quite new to these new methods as my last toshiba laptop came with everything that I needed.
    Thanks for your time

If your upgrade or replacement of HARD drive will be a success, you must install a clean version of the OS. How you will get is actually your problem, but it turns out that you must use the legal version and activate it using the legal product key.

  • HP support Asst. app.

I have a desktop hp pav. Med. CTR. a1268c updated for win 7 to xp, I can't support hp Asst. app. install, it says it does not meet the requirements min., Please HELP if possible!

    Hello weluvhp,

It seems that it is possible that since your computer initially supplied with XP that you can not install Windows 7 to the HPSA version. The error you receive error 9996, mention you do not meet the requirements because it is a system check to make sure that everything is correct on the system. He made a call and fails at some point so he thinks that you do not meet the requirements.

Based on this HP Support Assistant forum thread I think your best option is to dual-boot the system and install HSPA on the XP partition or you can try the HP help and support. It's the HPSA with fewer options.

  • Audio has recently stopped working on macbook pro 2014, Win7 x 64

Material: Retina Macbook Pro mid 2014-15 "2.8 GHz 16 GB of RAM

Software: Mac OS + installed bootcamp Windows 7 business N SP1 64-bit with latest updates attached to the field

Audio worked absolutely the facility for a year or two. Just recently the speakers and headphone stopped working and SPDIF red light of the headset jack is now constantly lit (did not use to be informed in all). Maybe happened as a side effect of windows update, update of apple or software update or demand of the NVIDIA driver installation.

What audio drivers should I have installed Bootcamp software support for MBP mid 2014? Real audio hardware is present on this MBP - Apple card is vague on this point?

When scanning for hardware changes in Device Manager the same driver is always automatically reinstalled. There is no option to delete this. The driver update has no effect. The device is shown as working properly. There is no errors and there are devices of reading for the speakers, headphones and SPDIF, but no audio exited actually.

    • High definition audio
    • Manufacturer Microsoft
    • Location 0 (internal high definition Audio Bus)
    • version 6.1.7601.17514
    • day 11-19-2010

There was also a Microsoft device system speaker (don't download reinstalled during the analysis of new equipment) and nvidia audio drivers (for audio output HDMI).

An additional symptom - connect headset does not show the helmet as playback device as a playback device connected as I expect.

Is it possible the Bootcamp software support has failed to reinstall the audio drivers correctly? Can I get a feedback or a software Bootcamp Support log to see what's happening?

A Windows somehow got locked in a SPDIF output? This cannot be a purely material error as MacOS still work very well?

Other measures to diagnose this problem?

A few steps I've tried without success:

    • Check all volume and mix parameters
    • Roll back these recent software installations
    • Watching installed the drivers in Device Manager - all audio devices are shown as working properly analyze, because material changes do not find any additional sound hardware to configure. Update driver drivers online research is not to find an updated driver.
    • Using an another USB audio device - this device works great
    • Reboot under Macos - built in speakers very well work
    • Restart in SafeMode the Windows - audio device does not appear to be installed (maybe the driver no is not supported in safe mode).
    • Reset the NVRAM (restart with option commmand PR)
    • Reset the controller of the SCM
    • Run the restore of the system - restore points fail to restore with the exception of a few of the latter that does not solve the problem
    • Uninstalling all audio drivers and re-run bootcamp support software setup.exe (the older version of download 5.1.5640 which seems to be the only one who supports my hardware/windows 7 x 64 combo)
    • Back the NVIDIA driver to the version provided with the support of bootcamp software
    • Intel chipset installers running provided with the support of bootcamp software
    • Assistant Configuration boot camp running on Mac OS to get the latest drivers - fails because does not support my combination of material and win7 x 64 as documented on Apple support pages
    • Not running Apple Software update - no update is available for all drivers.
    • Don't run Windows update - no update is available for all drivers

If the red light goes out in OS x but not in Windows, it seems to be the State of the combined analogue/digital port stored in the Windows registry. On W7 on a 2013 rMBP (he has the card nVidia 750 m), this is what you should see your Audio devices.

  • Satellite L50Dt - Support for Windows 7

    Hello

I'm not a fan of Windows 8 (which is not safe) and I want to install windows 7 on my new laptop. The details are:

    M # L50Dt-A Satellite
    P # PSKM2A-009005

Is someone can you please tell me if it is possible to find all the Windows 7 drivers needed for this particular laptop.

I don't want to remove the file system if it is not possible because I delete the backup partition in doing so.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I checked the Australian support page for your laptop model Win7 drivers do not exist so there is no support for it so I think you should stay with Win8 and check if drivers will be offered following weeks or months.
Please before make you anything create recovery (DVD or USB) media so that you can install original Win8 whenever you want.

Of course, you can try to install Win7 and check if you can use the drivers available for other models of laptops, but it is hard work and you need to know the specification of the exact material.

  • HP 13-3080ez spectrum - hip does not support

    Hello

I have a 2 weeks old spectrum HP 13-3080ez, Windows 8, 64-bit. Since yesterday I have a problem with loading, means, battery is empty but will not charge.

I tried all the common things that you can find in the internet, but I'm still strugglin with the part "remove battery" because the spectrum built in battery.

    Facts

-Battery is new (max 3 - 4 times loaded)

-Laptop works fine with AC plugged addapter

-If I run the battery from the HP software check, it says "unknown battery" followed by an "45replace" exception but I can't somehow believe that the battery is already default

    -J' did all possible updates

-J' also did a BIOS update to the current version

    Any ideas? Thanks for help.

HI re-cyber. It doesn't sound like you need to contact support to replace your battery. The documents you see referring to a hard reset and remove the battery, of course only applies to products with removable batteries. If you want to make sure that you have completed all the steps (which I believe you have) you can view this document.

  • latest version of hp support assistant hangs

Is anyone else having problems with the latest version of the HP SUpport Assistant.  I'm on Win7 - 64 bit.  He moved very well and starts, but when I check for software updates crashses.  It will always fail at the beginning (crashes at startup) after this until I re - install.

    Thank you

    Joe

    Hey Joe,

    Try the following

Firstly, uninstall your current version of HP Support Assistant using Microsoft 'Fixit' at the following link: this is particularly useful for correcting problems that may prevent resettlement on the machines running a 64 bit OS.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall

When this has completed, restart the laptop.

Then download and install the latest version of HP Support Assistant of the page on the link below - the download links are to the bottom of the page.

After installation, restart the computer again.

  • low key public ephemeral Diffie-Hellman in vCenter Assistant support 6.0.0.0 Build 2632669

I have install the vCenter Assistant support, no problem. But when I used Chrome (v47) to access it, I had a small "Ephemeral DH public key" error I tried to give him a certificate signed by our Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise internal CA, but not joy. IE will not work, but Chrome. What can I do to get rid of this error blocking (in addition to switch to IE, which is not a good solution)? I saw a note to update some files server.xml in VCOrchestrator to the same question, but I can't find a comparable file on the device to support Asst. As far as I can tell, our CA used a model that uses the Microsoft Enhanced RSA and AES Cryptographic Provider, sha256, 2048-bit keys - what is weak on this subject? What did I miss?

    Someone at - it ideas?

I would love to see a response from the support, but I think that the only option is to wait for an update of the device.  I did a little research and it looks like a problem with the OpenSSL version delivered with SLES 11.  OpenSSL v0.9.8 does not support TLS 1.1 or 1.2 (TLS 1.2 - SUSA Blog |) The communities of SUSE) and there is no simple mechanism was updated to the version within the unit. No matter what kind of cert you put on the system, he will always support the resulting weak encryption methods Chrome report the site.  I tried to limit the list of encryption algorithms to only ECDHE, but Chrome still did not like it.

  • IdeaPad U450p keyboard and LCD replacement

I want to know if it is possible to change the layout of the keyboard and the LCD screen in ideapad U450P.

By changing the keyboard layout, I mean that the laptop comes with a keyboard German layout(let's say) and I want to change it for US / UK English keyboard (not the OS software but manually replace the entire keyboard).

    Secondly, ideapad U450p comes with a resolution of 1366 x 768 (HD).

Is it possible to replace the LCD with HD + (16000 x 900)?

If this is the case, can someone guide me, where I can purchase in the United States available keyboard and HD + Panel for ideapad U450p (3389-L5G) in Europe?

I hope to have positive feedback!

You can change your keyboard module, but lcd is impossible.

I checked ebay, none module keyboard right now, you can check it out later or contact lenovo support to replace the keyboard module.

PS: you can use uk / us module if you change the default keyboard language.

  • Replace the HARD drive in the new Pavilion Elite HPE-180 t.

I'm not a professional computer, but after 30 years of use, the upgrade and repair PC home and the office, I'm embarrassed to post this thread - but here goes.  I took delivery of a few days ago the new highest indicated HP computer model in the topic of this thread.  The new computer is beautiful and everything worked perfectly from the start.  I decided after a few days to check, everything was fine and proceeded to a few pieces of hardware to transfer from my old Dell (a fairly new 1 t WD SATA HDD on which coied got a lot of data from the former count and a new BD/DVD ROM SATA optical drive).  Everything was fine once I figured out how to get these two drives in the enclosure waterproof on the new computer, but all reconnecting the SATA cable on the main came with the computer HARD disk, I broke up some pins on the HARD drive that made it of course useless SATA port.  I of course take full responsibility and do not wish to get involved with HP technical support to replace the disc - and frankly, I prefer not to put another HDD Seagate support because I prefer a 1 t Cavier Black SATA WD which I believe is one of the most reliable RESEARCH on the market right now, and I can buy it for around $200 instead of the $400 I uknderstand fresh HP for the same size of Seagate replacement.

Here's my question, can I just buy a new HDD WD and install it with my own final Win 7 x 64 without the HP recovery disks (they did not come with the new computer, and I had not yet created my own recovery disc).  Frankly I'd rather have a completely clean install of my Win 7 OS without the HP partition and other HP software on the HARD disk.  Is this possible or HP has some sort of identity with their software which must correspond with the BIOS or something like this?  REALLY, I don't want to return the computer to HP to get called into service because I just started a small business that involves a lot of video editing and I can't be without the computer for weeks, while HP is concerned with him (I've read the horror stories about the high cost of the repairs and the long repair time but I do not wish to keep my warranty if possible).

    HP Pavilion Elite HPE-180 t; 2.8 Ghz quad-core Intel i7 CPU; Intel x 58 chip; Win 7 64 bit ultimate OS. 12 G RAM;
1.8 NVIDIA GeForce GTX-260 G graphics card; HP w2338h HD widescreen LCD monitor

I have the same PC, only the model number has been changed.  Yes, you can use your own license W7 and install it on another drive or a replacement drive.  You can get the drivers from the HP site web support HPE-180 tfor your PC or other sources.

Some software manufacturers third HP is very useful, so you might want to consider ordering the HP recovery discs and make a full recovery to factory.

  • Workstation transmit orders ATA TRIM in Windows 7 for the SSD to Win7 host OS?

Does anyone know if Workstation will pass by the guest operating system commands ATA TRIM to support the comments of the OS (win7 win7 head invited in my case with an OCZ vertex SSD running), or if its even possible to configure it somehow?

Maybe a good future feature, if not as the SSDS become more common... I'm not avoiding running VMs on a SSD until I see this support.

    Hello

No, it is not as a guest that OS totally ignores the system disk used in the host operating system.

In all honesty, it's a good thing because it means that you can take your VM and move it to another host without any problem.

Workstation support this in the future with the host operating system will add that the desired cut orders?

I don't know if it is possible even to do and VMware is not comment on what is or isn't on the design table, so I doubt you will get answer to this question.

What is the use case you want to have the taken trim command support? Save life of your SSD? Even without filling its going to have an MTBF that is bigger than your normal SATA/IDE drives.
