  my HP w2338h monitor does not turn. My computer is turned on, blue button, loud noise, the whole enchilada. I shook the mouse, clicking aimlessly, then typed the SPACEBAR until the speakers told me to stop. I pressed the power button on the screen. He turned and said "monitor going to sleep".   I understand that you are getting "Monitor going to sleep" message when you turn on your computer. I would like to you hard reset your computer while removing the plug in the bar of power and the back of the computer and the monitor. Then hold the power button on the computer for 30 seconds. When you are finished which do the same for the monitor. Once it comes to a record complete their return in and start your computer.

• Popping and crackling sound question

  "I have a" desktop PC HP Pavilion 500 - 205t CTO using Windows 7 and IDT High Definition Audio CODEC.
  I bought the computer in April.

  May I noticed was that a glitch will start appearing in the sound. POPs and crackles in the audio playback, any device, no matter the speakers or the headphones, any outlet. I even tried the different outlets for computers and the different power strips. According to the HP website, my audio drivers are up to date.

  The problem is getting worse over time until I've restarted. Then the sound would be perfect for the 12 to 48 hours to which the question referred.

  A DPC latency Checker showed that over time my latency increased also, and POPs and crackles corresponded with an increase in latency.

  WRPUI revealed that, during a period of high latency audiodg.exe had a count of 1 563 and a weight of 1 517. I have no idea what means the data, but I've heard some people know leaks memory with audiodg.exe and I wonder if it could it be. The fix for microsoft says DO NOT install it unless you are sure... and I'm not sure.

  I also heard rumors that HP do not keep drivers up to date on their Web site. So I wonder if there is a more up-to-date version my IDT there. My current version is 6.10.6491.0

But since the headphone jack, I got the same intestine dialogue, n-bass muffled and vocal-type problems you had. When I tried to configure the device audio speakers/HP on the plug headset, I was not getting stereo sound.

  According to the specifications of this model, the screen has an anti-glare finish (Matt). If it was icy, the finish would be called "brightview."

  I totally understand the importance bright reflective screens drive me crazy personally. But it seems that there is just like a lot of people who can't stand the end matte, so to each their own.

  I'm in the United Kingdom. My Dell S2240T monitor covered and the corner of the screen is chipped. I guess that it is not covered by the warranty.

  How can I get this repaired? I've been both PC World and iSmash and I was told that Dell was the only place that knows.

  Dell won't repair monitors, sells components to monitor nor have the documents of disassembly. We simply replace the monitor under warranty. This would not be covered. You can take it to a local TV repair center to see if they can diagnose the problem. Then find spare parts on ebay or craigslist.
