• Portege M800 and external monitor Dynadock question

  I have a M800 connected to a U Dynadock docking station.
  I have problems when I try and put my external monitor as the primary device and have the cell phone as the extension to monitor.

  I am running Windows XP.

  Are the only options it will allow: Clone, Extended (laptop is main and external is the extended option)

  If I use the WIndows graphic option it does not put the external monitor as the main display (I check this option and click on apply and it remains unchecked)

  If someone could help that would be great.
  Otherwise, I would recommend is not to use the dynadock

  Is the Dynadock video drivers give you the ability to view a total of three screens.
  -L' screen of the laptop.
  -external monitor connected to the video port on the laptop (if available)
  -ewxternal monitor connected to the Dynadock

  In addition, you can use mirror Mode and Extended Mode.

  Mirror Mode creates an identical view between your computer screen and the external monitor
  Extended mode extended Mode lets you split your display on multiple monitors.

  According to the specifications of this model, the screen has an anti-glare finish (Matt). If it was icy, the finish would be called "brightview."

  I totally understand the importance bright reflective screens drive me crazy personally. But it seems that there is just like a lot of people who can't stand the end matte, so to each their own.

• Repair question

  I just got my HP Slimline returned to repair.   It works fine, but I'm curious what "compensation measures" was held.   The only thing listed in the paperwork is 'ReplacedCPU-RepairClass-CO.   I understand the CPU part but not the other.   Can someone tell what was wrong with the computer?

  CO stands for "component replaced.  It indicates what type of repair was done.

  I hope that I was not only give the company secrets, lol

• HP w2338h Monitor Sound questions?

  Just brought this monitor and I'm absolutely loving, apart from the fact that he has managed to turn off my speakers.

  Running Windows 7 Ultimate by the way.

  The way I put it in place until I brought the home monitor was Subwoffer plugged the power, and then his (green at both ends) cable plugged into the PC... When I plugged the new monitor it shows my speakers as being not connected and does not give me the option of using two different HD devices... When I plug the audio cable (PC monitor) it tells me I have speakers connected, but I can't not all sounds to play.

  Have tried to move the mouse cursor on both sides of the screen to the external monitor?

  When you move the cursor beyond the external screen left or right border, it should appear on the screen of the laptop.

• Guarantee of monitor S2340M question

  I bought a monitor S2340M of Amazon.com, a couple of months and recently it is out of use.

  When turned on, I only see a black screen with agitation of the Green and red lines.

  So, I want to get a guarantee of Exchange but is not a serial number or a special order number.

  I read forum posts and tried to contact the Support of the order, but I could not even send an email without the service tag.

  For the cats and customer service phone calls keep saying contact technical support and it does not at all help!

  Please someone help me. I have the serial number on the back of my monitor and an invoice from Amazon.com

  I recently acquired a laptop M14X R2. A hinge is broken and it has 8 GB of RAM. First should I replace the hinges and the cover as it is a little loose? Are there upgrades hing? Also, I see a lot of places there say culminates one out to 16 GB still a PC Mag review it lists like maxing out at 32 GB of RAM. DDR3 1600 is also the fastest ram that it can deal with the new bios? • Desktop HP Envy 750-114: do I need a new monitor or graphics card?

  I have a HP Envy Office 750-114 and a HP. V242h color monitor, etc. on the monitor are flat, dull and almost gray. It has been like that since we have the computer about a year ago. I've tweaked the contrast, etc., on the screen and it's a little better, but still not very good.

  So, is it a new graphics card for the computer, or a new monitor? I'm afraid that if I buy a new monitor, it'll be the same, dull and flat.

  If a new graphics card is required, which would be a good thing, and I need a new power supply?

  My son loves to make games, one that is good for the games would be better.

  I did experiment a bit and partially answered my own question. I removed the monitor in question (HP V242h) and hooked it to another computer. What a world of difference! So I don't think it's the monitor, but the graphics card.

  If a modified question: what would be a good graphics card for my HP Envy Office 750-114? One that enhances the display and provides the best game? Also, would need a new power supply?

• Monitor external flicker on Satellite U400-157

  Hi all

  Since last week, I bought laptop Satellite U400-157. When I connect to the external moniter laptop with charger plugged the external monitor is flickering (see a horizontal line). When I unplugged the charger the flicker is disappear.

  I tried the following solution:

  1. connect the laptop to different monitors (BENQ 20 "", ViewSonic 17 "and former VGA monitor)
  2. using the power cable of 3 and 2 connectors for labtop and the monitor.
  3. with the help of thick VGA cable.
  4. with the help of another charger.
  5. Finally, I went to the seller and ask him to try another laptop with the same model and the shock was that he has the same problem.

  So I can consider it as a FAILURE of this model, or there is a solution for this problem?

  Hmm I doubt that this problem could be linked to the U400
  I use the U400 too and I ve plugged on the external LCD Samsung monitor via HDMI port and the display does not Flash.

  I also found this thread on the similar problem with Tecra M5

  The guy means that this could be also a problem of laptop but after several tastings, he founded the power cable supplied with the external monitor was questionable.

• Equium A60 - 181 und external monitor

  Hi I have an Equium A60-181 with connected Ati graphics card in and monitor external 19 "CRT. While the monitor seems to work I ran into a few problems. By turning on the monitor XP prompted me to install drivers I assume that they are for the monitor in question sheet etc.

  It seems in any case that I'm unable to change the resolution or refresh rate of the screen is set to 1024 x 768 @ 60 Hz. I changed the display properties and selected reverse, but when I OK/apply the cursor goes back to 1024 x 768 and the refresh rate is 60 Hz - huh?
  I restarted XP and still have this problem I even Device Manager check for yellow markers so now I'm at loss here is a common problem with Ati?

  I'm not 100% sure but I think that the resolution of 1024 x 768 max for external (second) monitor is restriction of graphics card. Is this the situation even if you use an external monitor just without screen laptop (FN + F5)?

  I am interested in buying a new monitor of 23 "HP2310m, but first of all, I would like to know if it is compatible with my HPE-350 t bought on July 15, 2010. My computer has an ATI Radeon HD 5570 1 GB graphics card. Currently, I use a VGA-DVI converter to connect my old school monitor, but I want to go digital. I need to know (1) if my computer system and graphics card is HDCP capable, (2) if my output DVI which seems to me to be the DVI - I (digital and analog) would work with the monitor in question, which indicates a DVI - D output, and (3) the question of whether I would be forced to go with a HDMI connection. I think that my graphics card has an HDMI output, right next to the DVI output, but it is difficult to read the text near the exit. Someone with the same system can confirm that it is well an output HDMI, and you recommend to connect the new monitor with HDMI instead of DVI cables (who cannot work because of the DVI has already been mentioned - I analog and digital format)? Please notify.
