Popping and crackling sound question

Hello!

"I have a" desktop PC HP Pavilion 500 - 205t CTO using Windows 7 and IDT High Definition Audio CODEC.
I bought the computer in April.

May I noticed was that a glitch will start appearing in the sound. POPs and crackles in the audio playback, any device, no matter the speakers or the headphones, any outlet. I even tried the different outlets for computers and the different power strips. According to the HP website, my audio drivers are up to date.

The problem is getting worse over time until I've restarted. Then the sound would be perfect for the 12 to 48 hours to which the question referred.

A DPC latency Checker showed that over time my latency increased also, and POPs and crackles corresponded with an increase in latency.

WRPUI revealed that, during a period of high latency audiodg.exe had a count of 1 563 and a weight of 1 517. I have no idea what means the data, but I've heard some people know leaks memory with audiodg.exe and I wonder if it could it be. The fix for microsoft says DO NOT install it unless you are sure... and I'm not sure.

I also heard rumors that HP do not keep drivers up to date on their Web site. So I wonder if there is a more up-to-date version my IDT there. My current version is 6.10.6491.0

Any help is appreciated.

Hello

Check the updates of Windows, can be a sound driver for your system. If so uninstall the
Update. And don't forget to check the new Web site of the manufacturer for the latest driver. And stop the
automatic installation of updates of pilot then manually check for new drivers.

    Hello

    Sorry for the delay.

The problem is gone because I have re-installed Windows 7 and then I discovered through DPC latency Checker that my Antivirus (Avast Internet Security) has been the cause of the problem he was creating explosions of constantly high latency. The fact that the Antivirus has been 'real time' to make disturbance, Malwarebytes is not always the cause high latency.

When I play certain CD on the computer using wmp or itunes.there is a sound dry and crackling sound that plays and general quality.these low CD are new and have store bought.anyone ideas how they could work properly.

    Thank you.

    Hi leonhal,

Are you having the same problem with the files on the computer?

    Two things you can try:

Method 1: Turn off audio enhancements

Reference: to disable improvements audio speaker

Method 2: Update sound card drivers

Because the problem recurs in many of the CDs as well, try to update your sound card drivers. Most of the problems seem to be caused by the wireless, video and audio drivers being unable to work together properly. Like the manufacturers to find solutions, they are incorporated into the latest version of the driver. If it's a good idea to keep up-to-date. Reference: update drivers: recommended links

  • External Usb Audio Card Popping and cracking sound with Satellite L500

    Greetings,

My name is Boyan and I am from Bulgaria, and a year ago, I bought a laptop satellite l500 series (I can't tell which is exactly the model at the moment because my computer is not currently with me and my user manual, the only thing that is said is that it is for L505/L500/L500D / L505D.) But from memory I think it was the Satellite L500D-ST5506 which is currently not at my dispossal, because I gave him for repairs for the same problem that I say down below)

The problem with my laptop, is that when I plug in a Usb Audio card in my laptop I have a crackling sound during live sound is played hollow map external speakers/headphones. I tried several sound cards and speakers/headpohnes which work perfectly well with other computers, including laptops, but the problem continues even when I use an external sound card to connect to the laptop not appearing in my laptop speakers/headphones.

The problem is important only when the signal passes through an external audio card and it is very disruptive since I use my laptop to create music and I bought a sound card expenssive and speakers that can not be used with the laptop. I tried 3 types of sound cards:

    M-Audio Fast Track Pro

    BEHRINGER uca 222

and a simple 3d audio usb audio card external and the problem persists.

At first, I thought that the problem is software and I should install the new drivers, windows 7 automatically recognizes and installs the drivers for the devices and I have its in (but with the cracks and educated) so I tried using the official drivers sold for me with the sound cards, but without success: the problem was still there. I tried to find the new drivers of the sound cards on long official distributors and I downloaded it but the problem was still there. Then I tried to delete all the audio drivers on my computer and just use the external sound card for sound but this eighter helps force. I updated my drivers for my sound card build - in as well but again - no luck.

After substantial thing frist I did when (2 weeks after I bought the laptop) was to contact the store where I bought my audio card and they said that the problem may be so eighter latency or high voltage of the laptop they advised me to try to reduce the latency of the parameters or to try and see if the problem persists if only my laptop running on battery power. I tried two things, and they did not help. Audio cards worked without problems on all the other computers I tried them but me. So they told me that the problem could not be audio cards.

What I then was that I gave my laptop for the Distributor official of toshiba in my country so that they can solve my problem. What they told me, is that a problem with the version of windows which was preinstalled on my laptop and it was not compitable with the sound cards (which was bizzar survey because I tried them on the same windows and they worked, only on other computers). So I'm back from my laptop and passed under my Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit operating system to Windows 7 Ultimate edition 64-bit and Windows 7 32-bit Ultimate edition on all versions, that's the problem: whenever I activate a low of passes of audio signal and Audio Usb card he heard cracks and educated. I even tried isntalling Windows XP, but the laptop want spesific SATA drivers for the Windows XP installation which although I found - they helped me install XP and I didn't go the BIOS of the computer to try to put a new and so on, because I'm not sure about that and I could lose my warranty so I said in the official repair shop for Toshiba in my city to put XP on my computer to solve the problem but they can't because they are not liscened to work with software that isn't a recipt for its purchase (which I did not because I bought my windows xp a long time ago and I lost the recipt)

I gave her to get it repaired for the second time by telling them that the change of my operating system has not solved my problem and what they were doing was they changed the motherboard on my computer, indicating that the build in the device realtek audio on my computer is good enough to support a card usb audio or it may be broken and they change the whole motherboard because the generation of card is stuck, so they did it, but my problem has not been resolved. They told me that although I use and map external audio usb signal always going trough my only internal and I have to disable so I tried to disable this trough Control Panel, but this does not solve the problem and I don't have a BIOS option to disable my sound card build-in. Another thing I thought that maybe the problem is that two audio cards do not work on the same bitrate and Hertz so I put both cards to 16 bit 48000 Hz DVD quality (also tried the other options on the 3 cards that I have) but it's the same thing.

They told me that it's just my luck and the construction of the sound card does not support this external sound cards and I would had been more careful when they choose to my laptop first.

I couldn't accept this awnser for several reasons:

    (1) this sound card works on a lower version of windows and are supported by many older models of Realtek and a lot of old computers (one of them bought 2000! and my laptop is of 2010!)

    (2) the guys who were the apperantley of fixing problem don't go so deeply into my problem because they didn't know that in fact the problem was that only they knew that there is a problem with the audio card and the computer interact with them, they knew not that it cracks during the direct play the external audio card.

    (3) I can't accept the fact that Toshiba is manufacturing of models with maps audio chipset that cannot support a simple external Usb Audio card. It is totally unacceptable to me, and I sincerely hope that this is not the case!

    (4) they have tried my audiocards on another laptop of the same series, claiming that they have not at their dispossal at the moment so I'll go tomorrow at a local store and try the sound cards by myself on the same computer in the store.

What I have now, it was that I gave my laptop for repair requesting a statement of the problem in wrtting with details of the problem so I can go to court or ask for a new laptop, but I'll be charged with little money because according to them there is no problem in the laptop and the problem is that my external sound cards are not compitable with the build in house chipset sound card. If I give my laptop for repair, and there is no hardware problem, I'll have to pay the money. I will do this, but I'm now crazy, because that does not solve my problem and I am wasting time and money.

What I ask here is, if you can not help me solve my problem and advice me what to do to fix it, please give me the details of the chipset built in Driver sound card on my motherboard, so I can check if it is compitable with my external sound cards and contact the dealers of the sound card to ask them their opinion. Or if you can tell me what it is compitable with and what not, that would be great. Personally, I think this laptop should have no problem at all with a simple external usb running sound card, but I ask you, if you know something more about it.

If a problem with the build in chipset then Toshiba is manufacturing (or at least sell) audiocards which are not in a normal standart but unfortunately I can not do nothing except complain to Toshiba and never treat whith such productgs more. Otherwise, if this is not true, then my laptop has a problem that is different and I have to go to court with the mans for mounting repair is not my laptop or do not give a new one when I guarantee will not fault of Toshiba and it will be in a way solve my problem.

I hope that you understand how important it is for me and I hope I have fix the problem as soon as possible.

    P.S

I want to say that I am familiar with grammar mistakes, that I did in the text below, and I would ask your excuses that I'm not a native speaker of English.

Hi, I would just say that I had a similar failure although I wouldn't be surprised if she causing of yours, but you never have knowledge, my fault was the lid of my laptop [9 months], it contains the mic and when the lid has been in a certain angle cracks could be heard worse when I got my external sound card all the time it happened, luck, PS, it's a defective membrane [lid to the body] easily missed by engineer because he was the same angle you English is very good

Product name: HP ENVY Sleekbook 4 PC
    Product number: C2K72UA #ABA
    64-bit Windows 8

I've had this laptop for only a month, and it was going well until a few weeks ago, when he started to make this hum whenever I listen to the music or watching youtube videos. He emits a hum sound and accuses the audio for a second.

The sound was rare at first, but then lately my laptop did the sound hum frequently to the point where I just put the audio mute.

I did the HP Support Assistant, and everything is up-to-date.

    I also reinstalled my driver.
    My audio drivers are:
High Denfinition Audio CODEC IDT (I reinstalled it)
    Intel(r) Audio display

I also hear the hum when I plug my headphones too.

This may sound weird and you would never think to make a link between a hum and a wifi card driver, but the original poster marked this resolved, and said the driver solved wireless installation. The post is linked below.

Locate the driver for your card wifi here. You can find on which driver you need by pressing the Windows key + x simultaneously and selecting menu display the network adapters in Device Manager.

    Hello!

Have you tried external speakers on your laptop?
It could be a hardware problem, but if you test other speakers you can determine if it s a sound card or a s question House speaker. Check it!

And have you checked all the sound settings in Windows? Maybe you can find a setting wrong in equalizer or elsewhere.

Have you tried to reinstall the notebook using the Toshiba Recovery disk? It contains the factory settings and you should try this before contacting an authorized service provider.

  • Popping / crackling sound when the Satellite L650-1PQ is connected via HDMI

    Hi all

I have recently connected my laptop to the TV via HDMI, and I hear his pop/cracking every time the music, video or games is played. I tested the speakers with my MP3 player and the Xbox, and there is no POPs or crackles when I'm with them.

I've updated to the latest drivers from Toshiba, but it has not yet resolved the issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Care of my system is as follows:

    Processor: 2.66 GHz Intel Core i5 480M
    RAM: 4 GB DDR3 RAM

The crackling is in from the TV speakers. Right?

Can you hear the Crackle even using headphones or speakers for laptop?
If not, then I think that this problem could be related to his driver.

  • Satellite A500 - crackling sounds and blue screen

    Hey everybody.

I bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite A500-19w about 4 days ago (today it is Sunday, March 7, 2010).

I had the sounds of crackling of my speakers which have been mentioned so many times in the forums, no real solution.
I also experienced the crash of the blue screen, that's already happened 7 times while I was not strongly using my newly buy laptop.
I'm not looking for a repair or a replacement, because I find it quite unacceptable to have to think about the errors, faults & fixes as much as the laptop is brand new.

What I want is a refund, but I'm not sure on how to do it.

I know that Toshiba has some sort of refund policy, but if someone can tell me exactly how it works, because I want to get rid of my laptop as soon as possible (I will not buy any more portable Toshiba, especially since I had some similar problems with my Qosmio f30).
If someone can give me some guidance, because I don't want to be mocked or used and cheated out of refund.
I bought my Toshiba in the Middle East (perhaps refund policies are different here).
    Thank you.

    Hi mihran.

If you want to pay off your laptop, you should talk with your computer store where you bought it. Only the can repay your laptop and not Toshiba directly.
Of course it is also depending on the country where you life, but normally you can pay within 14 days I think. So in your case I speak with the seller or give them a call. They explain how to do this.

But let me give you a little advice: regarding your problems with the crackling sound and blue screen I recommend that you contact an authorized service provider or ask a new A500 (this should be possible if you have only 4 days). Generally, I can say that a friend of mine has Satellite A500 and he is quite satisfied with her. This laptop has a great design equipped with new material for a good price. :)

  • Satellite C650 - 1 CT - sound recording and voice chat question

I recently bought this laptop and am very satisfied with the performance outside an aspect. I use my computer to save my voice and put it on a CD (quizzes etc.) and also to discuss with people.

The playback quality is terrible, it sounds as if I am under water and it keeps on popping and the volume varies tremendously. It is also the same for the people I'm chatting, they hardly understand what I'm saying.

The sound card is faulty or is there something I can do to solve this problem, because if I'm not able to get a decent voice recording, the laptop is useless for me.

    Hi JennyDiver,

I n t have Satellite C650 so I can t test it for you but you have ever tried to update the audio driver? You can download the latest version of Toshiba's official website:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

Before you install the latest driver, first remove the old version and restart the computer. Then use CCleaner to remove old audio driver registry keys and restart the computer. Now you can install the latest version of the sound driver.

In addition, it would be interesting to know if you are using Windows 7 preinstalled Toshiba or if you did your own installation of Windows.

As already written, I m not owner of such a laptop but maybe a BIOS update would also be useful. It s worth a try! ;)

  • pop and sound click on touchsmart tm2

I have a TouchSmart tm2-1000 whenever I play all the sounds (especially headphones) it's very noticeable pop and clicks.  I went to the IDT parameters and found a battery that option although on can cause POPs and clicks but when I turn it off nothing changes.  I tried many other settings unchanged.  I don't not blare my sound, so I highly doubt they are blown and if they were I don't think it would affect the headphones.  My computer is almost new and has received absolutely no damage. I am running windows vista on an acer aspire 5715z and since I have just more than a year. About six months ago a funny crackling sound began to appear when I was listening to music or watching movies, no matter if I used the headphones, internal or external speakers.

Since then, I tried several things to solve the problem, including following all the steps that I got from another forum online.
I also sent acer and asking questions about what they think it might be. They replied, saying: it is very probably the sound card, but it might be the drivers, so I reinstalled audio drivers but that didn't work.

No way to know if a computer store can help you or not. Do you have sent Acer support because it could
    be a known issue.

You are absolutely sure that pilots of its display in the latest Device Manager are after
audit of Acer and one that makes the unit (if it is possible)?

  • Crackling sound/gal on Windows 7

Hello. I recently bought a laptop with Windows 7 games and have caused problems with her. When I try to play a video (YouTube, Hulu, etc.) full screen, my sound crackles and is choppy/laggy. However, this happens not when the videos aren't full screen. When I play (first person shooter) games on my laptop, the sound is terribly. Every 30 to 60 seconds or more, my delay sound. My video is a little too much, but it is mainly the sound that is the problem. Sometimes it gets worse, and my screen "freezes" and my sound. Then I have to restart my laptop to fix. This is a very annoying problem, and I can't find a solution on the Internet... only more people with the same question unanswered.

And another thing... After I restarted my laptop when the screen and sound gel, my cookies disappear. But all my cookies in the internet options settings are correctly defined. : S

Anyway, rather than give you my card, I will just link to the laptop I bought:

    http://www.TigerDirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5270805&CATID=4938

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi jthompson25,

    1. what type of internet connection do you use?

    2. do you have the problem occur because you bought the laptop?

    Method 1

I suggest you to install the updated drivers for the sound card and graphics by visiting the site of laptop manufacturer.

    http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/dlcenter.asp?cmpid=topNav

Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

    Method 2

If the previous step fails then check if the problem persists in mode safe mode with networking

Note: Try this step only if you are using a wired internet connection.

Steps to start in safe mode with networking

1 restart your computer if it is running.

    2. tap on the F8 key after your initially on powers computer.

    3. Once you see the menu Advanced Boot Options, you can stop tapping.

    4. use the up/down arrow keys to highlight your selection.

    5. Select Mode safe mode with networking and press ENTER.

    6. you should see loading drivers and wait please.

    7. you should then be at the Welcome screen.

    8. connect to your computer using an account with administrator privileges.

    Method 3

If the problem does not persist in mode safe mode with networking then I suggest that you try to clean the boot and check.

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you perform a clean boot and check.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    I hope this helps!

  • Satellite C660-117 - crackling sound at startup

    Hello

I recently started having problems with the sound on my laptop which is 5 months old.

It emits a crackling sound at startup and also during video playback, it sometimes looks like interference and is more sensitive to the higher sounds.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled drivers and devices audio, but in vain.

The sound is the same when read by aswell TV or a helmet.

Is this sounds like a trip to the store where I bought it is necessary that its still under warranty?

    Hey Buddy,

You use the version preinstalled Windows from Toshiba or you have installed your own version?

Generally speaking everything you tried is correct, and the only option you have is to find your computer laptop initial configuration using Toshiba recovery disc. The drive will restore the original settings of the box with all the drivers and tools in order to have the same settings as you bought the laptop.

If this still doesn t work you should contact an authorized service provider because it looks like a hardware malfunction, but it s covered by warranty ;)

  • New laptop Satellite C50-A-1CK Fan make a static/crackling sound?

I recently introduced a new laptop Satellite C50-A-1CK the December 8,.

    I didn't use the phone a lot.
I noticed in the last days the fan made a static/crackling sound power, seems to come from the fan (on the upper right corner) when it turns.

    Is this normal?
I think back to the retailer and asking for Exchange?

Just for looking for some advice, much appreciated!

    Thank you.

    > Is this normal?

No, this isn't a common behavior of laptop and I don t think that the sound or noise is normal.

    > I think back to the retailer and asking for Exchange?

In my opinion it s certainly a good idea to check another unit and compare appearances of noise
