  • Tecra 9100 - W-LAN-Mini-PCI-card upgrade

    Hello everyone,

    I ve got a with the W-LAN-onboard Tecra 9100 working doesn´t.
    Instead of repairing the old W - Lan Mini-PCI-card I want to move to a new standard (802. 11 b / g with 108 Mbit/s max) Mini-PCI card.

I prefer the mini Notebook-WLAN-Gigabyte GN-WIAG02 PCI adapter.

Is it possible to chance the card built into the Gigabyte card?

    Hello

It s nice that you want to upgrade your wireless mini-pci network card. But I suggest you rather a card with an Atheros chipset. The best choice is perhaps a card with a Chipset of Atheros 5005GS since I upgraded my Tecra 9100 with this card and it works like charm. (and not so expensive as other s cards)

To swap the card, you must remove the plastic cover of the keyboard and unscrew the two screws in order to release the keyboard.
After removing the keyboard, you will find an aluminum side cover left which is set with a special torx screws. The best would be to get these torx screwdriver to loosen this bolt and remove the cover.
After removal, you will see the map with the cables that lead to the antenna. (One white and one black) Be very CAREFUL when remove the Connector cables, because if damage you one of the cable connectors there is no return since the cables are cables "Mini-coax" and cannot be "connected."

I warn you, just do it if you're really sure and if you know what you're doing, because I won't take any responsibility if damage you something on your machine. Otherwise, I wish good luck and would appreciate some comments on your success.

    See you soon

  • HP mini: BIOS reset

Hi, I have a HP mini notebook, P/N: FW376UAR #ABA. It has been used for a while. Now, when I turn it on, it is said, "CMOS configuration is wrong." I pressed F1 to enter setup, and then he asked me for a password. I tried every password I could think of, but none worked. I opened the case a little and out the battery, waited for 12 hours and put back, but still, he asks me a password. I've not seen and jumpers on the motherboard. How to do this?  Any help will be greatly appreciated br.

  • HP Mini 210-4000 blue screen of death PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA Error

I've been up and down the Forums here with no specific luck, unfortunately, so I'll ask even if this has been asked and solved in another part of the site that I may have missed.

I'm trying to untangle HP Mini Notebook a friend, model HP Mini 210-4125sa. The machine starts well enough until last week, when it was suddenly decided to blue screen.

The text of the error message displayed in the BSOD reads as follows:

    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

    TECHNICAL INFORMATION:

    STOP: 0 X 00000050 (0X87E40000, 0X00000000, 0X00000000, 0X92442B13)

I can't start after loading Windows 7 - the load bar screen makes two fifths upwards and that's all.

I had thought to try to recover the operating system, if possible, of what is apparently a recovery partition that is created on the hard drive (I have not worked with these machines before, unfortunately), but I can't figure out how to get to that partition before the typing error.

In addition, after trying to download a piece of software of HP USB recovery Flash Disk Utility, I realize it seems necessary to use it in fact of the computer laptop itself, that is not possible.
Having begun to run various tests on board in the menu of the BIOS, the hard drive Test failed just apparently (more specifically the hard drive part optimized DST test), with ID GGBXXV-66A75U-MFPX0J-61VV03 failure (I don't know if this information is useful but am nevertheless understood). HP unfortunately were not a lot of help as they wil only offers unique support technician call for forty pounds, or to take the laptop away for repair, which cost almost as much as the original of the material costs. Of course, I prefer to try and resolve this issue myself but have hit a bit of a wall at the present time. Any suggestion would be great at this point.

This test equipment for the hard drive is a gift died of a faulty element. A failed hard drive is a show-stopper.

Hard drive optimized DST part of the test), with ID GGBXXV-66A75U-MFPX0J-61VV03 failure (I don't know if this information is useful but am nevertheless understood) This is important information.

A corrupted NTFS (hard drive) volume can also generate the "error PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" stop message.

  • Help! Compaq MINI freezes while browsing Internet

I bought a Compaq Mini Notebook compaq mini cq10-405dx on Black Friday and it performed well. Throughout the last 2 weeks whenever I'm browsing the screen freezes, and you must manually it restart to restart. If you press Ctrl Alt Delete it does not.

I read other people who have had same problems uninstalled the root Web that was installed by Best Buy Geek Squad but I don't see this program in the list of programs.

I have AVG free software anti-virus installed, could this be the problem?

    Help!

    Hello

What you suggest is worth to be tried.  The link below is available for download for Avast Antivirus - this is the free option and just requires you to save email with them in order to activate.  It is also a little lighter on the system resources than moy.

Save the installer to your desktop.

    Avast Antivirus

Once the download is complete, uninstall the free version of AVG, currently, you have installed and restart the computer before installing Avast.  When the Avast installation is complete, reboot the laptop again and see if there is an improvement.

    Kind regards

  • NB200-110 won't start or allow the configuration of the BIOS

    Hello

I am new to the forum and this is my first post.
I help my father with the diagnosis of its mini notebook.
    Model is NB 200-110.

In recent months, the laptop had a hard time to start.
But after several tries, it would normally be finally start and run normally.
Two weeks ago, the laptop won't boot is no longer at all.
When turn on/off, you can hear some noises (HD or fan?) then the 'Toshiba Leading Innovation' screen will be displayed, but it won't pass this point.

On the lower part of the screen, you are prompted to press F2 to enter setup BIOS or F12 to change the start-up devices, but it will respond to any key (as if no current keyboard).
I guess that some of the material is a failure, but y at - it a way of knowing what part exactly?

Thanks in advance for your help.
    Jean-Christophe

    Hello and welcome

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here, and it is not easy to offer the exact diagnosis. Unplug the power plug, remove the battery and press the power button for about 20 seconds.
After having done that connect the power supply only and try to start your machine. Watch carefully what happens.
Try again with F2, F8 or F12 at the beginning upward.
You can also try is to remove the RAM and HARD drive modules and test what happens when you do this.

You know it's strange, if you can enter even the parameters of the BIOS, this first stage where mobile of first hardware.

  • NB100-11J - upgrade of the memory

    Hello

I have a problem with my NB100-11J. Is it possible to update (change) is the Module of memory installed with 1 GB up to a new one with 2 GB. NB100-11j got only a single memory Slot. The Atom chip seem to handle up to 2 GB.

I discovered, that Kingston got a 1 GB Module (instead the original) with the familiar name as a Module.Has GB 2, anyone got information on how it worked or not?

This Module work of 2 GB with no problems in the NB00-11J or is for any other module (producer)?

    Thanks for help.
    WOLLE

    Hey,.

In General, you can install each module of RAM, but high-quality Kingston modules are recommended. So, Kingston is a good choice in my opinion, and I have good experiences with this type of memory.

RAM 2 GB module would be compatible to NB100-11J. On the Web from Toshiba site, I found the part number for the DDR2-667 and it s PA3513U-1M2G.

The link you posted for the new module of memory is not visible because the session has expired, but 2 GB Kingston module should work. In the worst case if we could just return it and buy Toshiba memory strips prétestées ;)

  • Nb505 - where to get the product specifications

It is very difficult, if not impossible to find the specifications (sometimes called 'Key features') for Toshiba products. For example, I try for more than 5 hours through all the websites of Toshiba to know the main characteristics of a mini NB505 laptop model. I walked into the family, the model, the serial number as exactly written on the device, such as given by the Properties window & case
computer device tab and I always get the message "you search revealed 0 results.»

Can any body tell me where & how to get information from Toshiba (specifications) products need to know before buying the product?

    Thank you.

    Hello me,.

What information product you want exactly? In addition, it seems strange for me because you wrote that you have the serial number, so I guess that you already NB505 but now looking a few specifications?

The NB505 is an American model and you can find it on the Toshiba U.S. page:
    http://us.Toshiba.com

If you do a Google search for NB505 the first result I get is Toshiba NB505 product page:
    http://us.Toshiba.com/computers/laptops/mini-notebook/NB500

So I t understand how it of possible to search for more than 5 hours

  • Uprgarding NB550D (Module 3 G, memory)

I recently bought a NB550D-10T and am very happy with it. I just upgraded it to WIndows 7 Professional 32-bit and 4 GB of RAM so I can use offline files, etc.

In any case, my question is; This model can be equipped with a module 3G? I noticed that there is a slot for a SIM card behind the battery. Also, when I mounted the new memo, noted a space with connections available that seems designed for a small module. 3G maybe?

While writing, I found only a memory slot on the back of the machine, but I thought that there were two. Is there a slot memory under the keyboard, as on some other Toshibas?

    NN

    Hi, NN,.

If there is a Mini PCI slot for a 3G module and a 3 G antenna integrated, then you may be able to install a.

Otherwise if it's just an empty array solder on the circuit board with no antenna, you must use a key USB 3 G Modem instead.

All Toshiba laptops normal sizes have two RAM slots, but Mini Notebooks have only a crack.

  • Upgrade RAM NB305 does not work

I recently bought a netbook NB305-10F in Spain. This computer has a processor Atom n455 and specification, should be expandable to 2 GB using a stick of memory DDR3 1066.

When I tried to upgrade the memory to 2 GB, it did not work. I tried another stick, just in case there was a problem in the first, and I got the same results. The computer does not start with the stick of 2GB (although the original 1 GB works fine).

I called Toshiba Tech Support in Spain twice and it turns out that they are totally clueless.

In the first call, the call center agent said that "maybe" my computer is not extensible (although the site Web of Toshiba says that it is), and that maybe I should update my BIOS to 1.7. He didn't know for sure what are the changes between versions 1.5 and 1.7.

In the second call, another agent asked me if I inserted the memory into the slot on the right (according to her, my netbook has two memory slots). I told her that my computer has only one. And then she said I should buy memory at 800 MHz instead of 1 066 MHz (even thought the specs and the original memory in my netbook are at 1066 MHz).

In view of the poverty is Toshiba Tech support is in Spain, I did some research online to find this thread:

    http://laptopforums.Toshiba.com/T5/mini-notebooks-NB-series/NB305-440N-memory-upgrade-not-working/m-p/117981#M467

It seems that the memory for nb305 should be of a specific type. They do not mention my model of netbook, but I guess that's another based n455 netbook. Anyone would confirm, if the memory of this brand and model works very well in the NB305-10F. Someone has it already tried?

The one I used is Kingston KVR1066D3S7 / 2G. The Spanish site of Toshiba says nothing of a specific memory type.

    Thank you very much!

I checked the page Kingston and a single module of memory 2 GB is listed for your model of PLL3AE.
    Module 2 GB 800 MHz
    KTT800D2 / 2G
    PA3669U-1M2G (Toshiba); PAME2005 (Toshiba)

If somehow possible try to use this module.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find any other info that can help you with this.
