NB200-110 won't start or allow the configuration of the BIOS

Hello

I am new to the forum and this is my first post.
I help my father with the diagnosis of its mini notebook.
Model is NB 200-110.

In recent months, the laptop had a hard time to start.
But after several tries, it would normally be finally start and run normally.
Two weeks ago, the laptop won't boot is no longer at all.
When turn on/off, you can hear some noises (HD or fan?) then the 'Toshiba Leading Innovation' screen will be displayed, but it won't pass this point.

On the lower part of the screen, you are prompted to press F2 to enter setup BIOS or F12 to change the start-up devices, but it will respond to any key (as if no current keyboard).
I guess that some of the material is a failure, but y at - it a way of knowing what part exactly?

Thanks in advance for your help.
Jean-Christophe

Hello and welcome

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here, and it is not easy to offer the exact diagnosis. Unplug the power plug, remove the battery and press the power button for about 20 seconds.
After having done that connect the power supply only and try to start your machine. Watch carefully what happens.
Try again with F2, F8 or F12 at the beginning upward.
You can also try is to remove the RAM and HARD drive modules and test what happens when you do this.

You know it's strange, if you can enter even the parameters of the BIOS, this first stage where mobile of first hardware.

  • U410 won't start - stuck in the Windows loading screen?

Hi, I have a U410 that no longer starts. Don't know what he did stop. At startup, it loads the startup Lenovo screen, then the loading screen Windows 10 forever (balls chasing each other in a circle). I can't get combinations of keys F bring me to the BIOS. I tried to use the Novo, but not the work of options other than the restoration of the system. They all display the startup Lenovo screen, then the Windows 10 loading screen.

I created a bootable USB floppy and USB boot, but I never have an option to get the BIOS or choose another Boot device.

Thanks for the answer, it turns out that it was the hard drive.

There's something corrupt on it and it wouldn't start. I took and connected to another machine, but he was not recognized by the BIOS or Windows. I returned to the U410 and starts in with the Novo button restore mode. Curiously, it worked and I was able to restore the machine back to original settings and then upgrade to Windwos 10. I lost all data on the HARD drive, but it's normal. She has been saved and most of the records is anyway in the cloud.

Not trusing stability of this HARD drive, I decided to replace it with a Samsung SSD. It was a great experince. Samsung provides a disk copy utility that works on the HARD drive running! A took about 45 minutes to reflect the existing for the connected SSD HDD. After that, I have swapped drives, ran the optimization of SSD and it was good to go.

The special tools required for this were opening and pry tools and an USB HARD drive adapter. There are many videos on YouTube that show how to open the laptop.

    Hello

1st thing to try is a restoration of the system in safe mode

    http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode option with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

If that does not read this information

the link below is how to download and get a vista disk startup repair, which you can start from the

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

Here's how to use startup repair system restore command prompt, etc. to bleepingcomputers link below

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html

to boot from the dvd drive to be able to you will see a way to get into the bios Setup at the bottom of the screen or command menu start

It would be F2 or delete etc to enter the BIOS or F12 etc. for the start menu

Change boot order it do dvd drive 1st in the boot order

    http://helpdeskgeek.com/how-to/change-boot-order-XP-Vista/

and if all else fails and you need to reinstall vista are the normal methods for computers preinstalled vista portable

Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send vista recovery discs

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F10 or F11 or Alt + F10, 0 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

Probably the SATA Configuration has lack of AHCI. If your configuration is a small SSD cache drive, then you will need to change to Intel Smart Response Technology:

  • Satellite M30-110 won't start

When I turn on my laptop it gets in what for the display of the past and Toshiba page then on a black page with a '_' blinking in the upper left corner. I was told that my hard drive has failed - is this the case?

I have the cover with Endsleigh. They would cover something like that? I do not know the procedure with fixing - what happens?

Either the BIOS does not find the HARD disk because it? corrupt s or on the HARD drive boot sector is too bad and the operating system cannot be loaded.
I think you should try to boot from the recovery CD. If the installation of the OS was successful then the HARD drive is OK and the laptop should boot correctly.

But if the installation is not possible, that the HARD drive is bad.

    Hi Glenn,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Important: Change BIOS / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

I recommend you contact the manufacturer of the PC for the procedure for making changes in the BIOS.

I try to help with a HARD on a U940 disk failure. The laptop still works a failure has been (almost certainly) the entire HARD disk.

I have a new HARD drive in place but I'm unable to access BIOS, and the machine does not start of course. Just a black screen while the computer is trying to do something...

    • Then put the F2 on does not work
    • Then put the F12 on does not work
    • Then put the ESC on does not work
    • Out the battery did not work
    • Out the battery and the power cord and the discharge by pressing the power button / stop for 60 seconds, did not work.

I can't get to the BIOS. In my view, that the machine was based on the Intel hybrid disc stuff using the DDI in RAID before and this quick book has been activated. Of course, I am unable to clean the machine to stop more since I can't start up with the old drive.

What I really want to do, is to put everything back. Get rid of any RAID stuff and put Windows on the new HARD drive. Any ideas how I can get into the BIOS to move all of the RAID or FastBoot stuff?

  • Qosmio DX1210 starts plus-mise the Bios updated has no

    Hello

I tried to do an update of the BIOS on my DX1210 last night to version 1.5.
There is a write failure error message during the update and now the system does not start.
Is it possible to reflash the bios when a bios update fails?
I have all the files extracted on one but key USB bios I don't know what to do to initiate a bios recovery?

Well, the BIOS problems can be solved only by a Toshiba authorized service partner.
I guess the ROM module where the BIOS is stored, not properly was flashed.
The Rom module can be flashed again using a disc special crisis.

So I don't see a real option for you: get in touch with the guy from service for repair.

  • Satellite Pro L300-1FN does not start - hang at the BIOS splash screen

My Satellite Pro L300-1FN refuses to start. When turned on the laptop displays the home screen toshiba/insyde H20 BIOS and the message "press F2 go to the Setup utility, F12 to go to the start menu" and flashes the light access to the hard drive, but don't try to continue loading. I left the bios at the start screen, but it doesn't do anything for long hours on a power supply or is running the battery flat while on battery.

Is there a way to re - put the BIOS on this unit? If it's a desktop unit I would remove the CMOS battery to force a reset of the BIOS but that's impossible on a laptop. The hard drive is fine because I have it plugged into another system to remove valuable data.

    Hello

What happens if you press F2 when starting the laptop to the top?
    You can access the BIOS?
If so, access the BIOS and set its default value. I think you need to press F9 or F10 to get default parameters, but this will be mentioned at the bottom of the page of the BIOS.

    Check it!

    Hello

I have a Qosmio F10, and I read that the port IrDA does not start by the bios at startup, but by the operating system.
How can I do to start my IrDA port with the bios at startup? Is this possible? Cause that will help you a lot

Another question, yesterday I've post a message on the Linux driver. When I ve clicked on "post message" I ve got a message "this message must be approved by a moderator" but, I do not see my forum topic, but why yesterday, my topic was to be accepted by a moderator and today my topic doesn't have it?

    Hello

It is not possible to make some changes on the IRDA port in the BIOS. If the IRDA port is available on the machine, the operating system can recognize automatically. As far as I know that the infrared port is always enabled for communication with the other device that has obtained permit port IRDA.
