  I have an Aspire TC-705 and when I put my HDD SSD.   You must be sure that your SSD also has the EFI partition to be able to boot like windows on BIOS UEFI Boot Manager.

• Tried everything - Vista still does not recognize printer Epson!

  I have Vista Home Premium 32-bit. I spent HOURS trying to get my printer Epson CX7800 installed. I get the error unknown device and after trying to install the printer software, the message that the device is not working properly. The CX7800 is compatible with Vista. I have checked/tried this following:

  1. Installed updates for Vista.
  2. Tried to install the drivers updated from the Epson site. Installation cannot recognize that the printer is plugged in and turned on and closed unexpectedly.
  3. Troubleshooted on the Epson site. Followed their advice to uninstall/reinstall to the letter.
  4. Verified the printer on other computers running XP - works fine.
  5. I tried changing USB ports - all ports are good.
  6. FixIt ran from the Microsoft site - no problems found.
  7. Tried the Add Assistant printer - who cannot find drivers - even if I click on disc then point it on where are the downloaded drivers.
  8. Troubleshooted on the Dell site - have a desktop Dimension E521 - no luck.
  9. He spent hours searching for technical advice and do not yet have a solution that works.

  Any help for that to be resolved would be LARGELY APPRECIATED. It's a question of Vista - not a problem with the printer or the computer. Argh!

  I can't believe how easy the solution was... amazing that this simple solution has been so difficult to dig for!

  All I had to do was go to the Device Manager and disable the PCI Standard improved to the USB host controller.

  That's all! Turned on my printer and installed the software and I printed a page within 3 minutes!

  How frustrating that it took me more than 30 hours to get this simple solution. But I hope that it can save someone else from countless hours and frustration.

  Go to Windows updates , select recommended updates and download and install all .net framework updates that are there. You may need to do a few times. .NET framework is required to install the printer.

  With online computer, insert the V305 printer disk and follow the instructions.

  I have an OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus with a wireless connection to my home network, E2000 Cisco router. I have install the printer using the software that comes with it. Everything worked fine for several months, but recently, I found that my network computers are randomly impossible to locate the printer on the network. I am also unable randomly ePrint. I noticed that if I power cycle the router, the computer will then find the printer. Now, I am regularly power cycling the router. Should not have these problems, I don't know even where to start asking questions. I'm not having other problems with the router. I connect to the internet OK, see the other computers on the network OK, just could not find the printer. There are usually 3 different computers that are enabled and disabled the network throughout the day (sometimes using the printer, sometimes not).

  What are some of the common issues that could cause this problem? Any suggestions to make the connection to the most reliable printer?

  Hi there, your PC into hibernation should not make a difference but some common router settings to watch out include:

  •Wireless isolation is enabled (won't let not peripheral connected wireless to talk with each other)

  I reinstalled the drivers for full features. I can't use the printer to scan to my office, I am only able to use the Printer Wizard. I was able to scan like this before and for some reason any during the last six months, I can't do it from the printer. It's annoying not to have two options.

  Thanks for the reply. I understand that it will be a lot of time. I don't think that the printer is the cause. To test the feature, you are able to make a copy? If so, the problem is corruption in the computer as a suspect. If all else fails, you should be able to go back using the HP9800 driver for printing.

  I just bought a HP Pavilion 500 205 t comcputer installed with Win 7 from the factory. The screen kept closed after 1 minute of the hour, I had the computer in place. I went to the Options section supply and changed the settings to NEVER close down/sleep/etc.  The computer continues to go down after 1 minute. I went to the Tech Windows and they had me do a few things, but nothing has worked. The last thing they told me to do was a clean boot I did last night and that didn't work.   Hi - We have a new laptop and it does not recognize the old printer.  So, I'm trying to download the driver for it.  However, when I try to download it, it says "Waiting for the user to connect the printer", but the printer is already connected via a USB cable.

  I'm a little confused abouut your problem. you try to RUN the software and complete functionality to your direct printer from the Hp Web site? If so, Hp does not recommend this process.

  Better to save full feature software and driver first before installing because by clicking RUN directly connected to the internet, you will have a problem to install - some will get instaalation error-corrupted files.

  Pls. click the download button and save it to your desktop.

  Also, before you install it, also try a different USB port on the computer, disable any third-party software on your computer like antivirus, firewalls and spyware because it could block some of the drivers for your printer specifically for scanning. Re-enale the protection again after installation.

  If still not detected, you can try inserting a USB stick to the USB port on your computer. If it works, doesn't mean no problem with the USB PORT.

  TRY THIS ONE, if you are using windows, go to device manager look for the USB if you have a yellow caution icon trhat brand-right click and select put updated driver or select Properties, and then click Properties window simply select Update driver - let windows search the driver online.

  Then try to reinstall, if not solved try this one:

  1. Click Start and then click run . The run dialog box opens.
