HP5520 printer all in a no - scan

Hello

I've had my printer for about 6 months and everything works fine

Without apparent reason, I'm more able to scan to e-mail - I get the error message - unable to connect to a server connection error-1

I had a quick glance at a few old threads that recommend I put manually the manual DNS server to 8.8.8.8. with 8.8.4.4 replacing. what I did, but it made no difference

In addition when asking to print sometimes has trouble finding the printer

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums today!

I understand that your scan to email stopped working on your HP Photosmart 5520.  Entering manual DNS is a great place to start!  But I do not see that it has not solved the problem.  I can provide some information that should help you get this resolved.

If you have not already tried this I would recommend power cycling the printer and the router for 20 seconds.  Wait about a minute after the supply of the devices to the top and try to scan to e-mail again.  If you are still having the same error of server connection then I would recommend resetting web services.

If you use the ePrint address then it will be deleted, but you can always get a new address ePrint when you reactivate web services. Also if you have any regular apps on the printer installation, they will be deleted and will need to be re-activated as well.

To reset the web services, you must:

1. press on the ePrint icon, located above the power button on the printer.

2. tap on settings in the menu ePrint.

3. tap on delete Web Services.

4. press OK to confirm that you want to remove the feature.

5. the printer will return to the home screen.

6. press again on the icon Web Services.

7. accept the terms of service and the automatic updates.

8.A page will print with instructions on how to configure the ePrint feature (if you wish).

9. return to the home screen of the printer.

10. press on scan to e-mail and walk through the installation program.

11 test e-mail scanning function.

If the printer is still not able to connect to the scan to e-mail server then I recommend to call the Department of HP Cloud Services.  They support the Web services feature in the printer, which includes apps like scan to email.

    The HP PC 2410 has optical scan resolution 1200 x 2400 dpi.

    Any printer that has this level of resolution should meet your needs.

    For example, the ENVY of 4500 a resolution: up to 1200 x 2400 pixels per inch (DPI) optical

    He shows me the overview of the analysis, but it does not scan.

    Or select an area on the preview of the scan with the mouse or uncheck the custom size option and choose the required scan size, then you will be provided with the opportunity to complete the scan.

  • HP 4500 wireless printer: printer all-in-one cannot scan glass

    My hp 4500 wireless printer worked fine until it just stopped printing.  I reintstalled the original installation disk and printing has been repaired.  However, the desktop icon for the hp Solution Center, which allows scanning of computer files, has not been activated, and accordingly, I am unable to scan from glass.

    New driver from HP site could not install completely and still have the same problem.  I tried to reinstall the existing drive, and it is still able to print, but still can not sweep.  The desktop icon is always off.  Didn't test the fax.

    I have here an updated driver that contains the implementation complete for the 4500 Wireless: G510n-z

    My system is Windows 7 64 bit.

    I would like to see if I can help you get your Officejet 4500 Wireless software working again.

    Looks like pieces of old software is causing the installation to fail. I would like to clean at the far (unisntall) and try again.

    When you have uninstalled the printer software, it is possible that pieces of it may remain which could interfere with a reinstall. I recommend referencing the steps described in this document to make sure that you haven't missed anything whatsoever; Uninstalling the printer software. * If you are connected with a USB cable, be sure to unplug it.

    You can also delete files using disk cleanup - take care to put check marks in selection boxes when it is available.

    Software drivers can hide other places would be in your device manager.

    To open Device Manager:
    ' 1) click on start (Windows icon) and enter the Device Manager "in the search field.
    2) click on Device Manager.
    (3) you can click on View, in the upper windows and then show hidden devices.
    (4) to develop the types of devices and check for any pilot associated with your printer.
    (5) to remove a device from Device Manager, right click on the device name in the list and then click on uninstall.

    For more information, see device for Windows 7 Manager information.

    Once you have removed everything, I restart your computer and then try to download the new software again to HP Officejet 4500 Wireless - G510n full feature software and driver.

    If you still have problems, please let me know what kind of error you get and how your printer is connected to your computer. What is direct installation USB or wireless?

  • Reference Dell V313w to printer all in one. Scanning documents record a new GB Flash Drive.

    Notice: part missing... directed to OCR on the printer CD, found the part. Must be an administrator to install, restarted in Administrator Mode. Try to install ask password for Windows, gave the password, it was wrong. Brain storm to change password, can't do that, need to change to new password old password. Where can I find the old password?  Another question: at the moment all the analyses and printer made a partial closing down. The power light does not turn off, but nothing works.  How to fix this?  I uninstalled and reinstalled and the printer is set as default, as said to do.

    Not knowing the brand and model of your computer and the operating system is not very useful.

    You can try...

    First run, delete print jobs to eliminate any print job stuck in the queue.

    Unplug the printer.

    Uninstall the printer, start, Control Panel, programs and features (Add/Remove Programs) Dell V313 printer, uninstall.

    Restart your computer.

    With online computer, insert the floppy disk to the printer and install the printer. Because the printer is already installed, you can select additional computer, and follow the instructions. This should install it the printer and OCR program.

    This printer has always worked well... used only occasionally. The cartridges are fine.  Everything prints out fine computer, it scans very well, but does not copy.  Looks like it's copy, but shot out a blank page.

    I understand that your 3520 Deskjet is no copy making more correctly however, you can print and scan without a problem. I will do my best to help! I might be far away but I suspect that there could be a problem with the printhead and it printing black ink. I say this because when you print from your computer, normally the ink colors mix to create a composite black, and when you print copies, it's only the black ink cartridge that is used.

    I want you to try a power reset and make sure that the printer is plugged directly into the wall, avoiding bars power and surge protectors. This ensures that the printer is full on.

    Turn on the printer.
    With the printer, unplug the power cord at the back of the unit.
    Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
    Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
    Reconnect the power cord to the back of the unit.
    If the printer does not by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

    Please also try the procedure described in this guide and get back to me with the results when you're done and I hope that we can reach a resolution!

    Items scanned by scanner are stored as Images (usually from the MPEG files) so I would look in the pictures folder. Otherwise if you remember what you call the files when you saved them you could also search for them via Windows Explorer.

    File photo:

    1. open Windows Explorer

    2. look in the folder list on the left side of the Windows Explorer window

    3. Locate the folder of photos

    Search:

    1. open Windows Explorer

    2. place your mouse cursor inside the Windows Explorer search box (upper right side of the Windows Explorer window), and then type the name of the file that you want to search

    3. Windows will now search for the file.

    4. once found, click on the file to open it.

    Hey thanks AlwaysNeon.  I had downloaded the latest drivers, etc..  I agree, she should be with MS Windows.  I did a query in their forums, but nothing jumped out as a viable solution.  I have a workaround if... to print the file to a PDF creator and download the PDF in this way.  Another step involved but it works.  Onward through the fog...

    The settings must be enabled from the computer.  Try the procedure described here.  Let me know what happens.

    To activate the scan of the computer, see the procedure below:

    Restart devices and check the settings of scanning driver

    Restart the computer and the printer can restore the connection scan options analysis, and then check the settings for scanning on the Mac.

    1. Turn the printer off.

    2. Make sure that the printer power cord connects directly to an electrical outlet and not by a limiter the power strip or surge protector.

    3. Close all programs currently running on your computer, and then shut down the computer.

    4. Turn on the printer.

    5. Turn on the computer.

    6. On the desktop, double-click Macintosh HD, click Applications, click the Hewlett-Packard or HP folder, and then double-click the HP utility.

      NOTE: If the HP utility is not in the folder, go to the step install the software for your printer HP.

    7. Under scan settings, click Scan of the computer, and then make sure the enable scanning to computer checkbox is selected.

    8. Try to scan.

    If the error persists, proceed to the next step.

    Try to make a black copy using the control panel of the printer.

    If this page comes out blank, try following the steps described in this support document - color or black ink not print.

    Is your printer PSC 1310 the page that is the alignment page printing, it must be loaded on the scanner and the hurry scan as described in p. 33 of the guide of the user here.

    Assuming for now your printer to provide the "Document Scan" and the little "+" feature, you don't have to have the "Preview Scan" selected.

    If all else fails, you can try to use a different program to scan multiple pages into a single document.

    Options of the digitization program

    I don't have the same printer model - I can't comment properly on scan "slow".

    • In general, the printers to "do a bit of everything" cheaper still not 'all' as well as more expensive printers, a full service.

    Other things that could cause a "slower than ideal: sweep

    • Wireless, if they are available and used to connect the printer, may cause slow response - which can be attributed to anything between a bad router and a bad signal for a slow wireless card in the printer or the computer.  The answer "slower than snail" may be caused by the network is too busy with other wireless / network diagram.

    Finally, the "so slow I want to die" may be caused by the printing software - programs sometimes even 'good' can develop problems just hanging out on the computer for awhile.  You can remove the program from the printer and then replace it with a new copy of the software service Support full page for the Web site of your printer.
