HP5780: Unrecognized HP75 tricolor cartridge - disables the device?

My printer 5780 suddenly decided to recognize is no longer the HP75 tricolor cartridge which is essentially complete and not used (even if about 5 months). Yes, I cleaned the contacts with a lint cloth and that did not help. Electric bike did not help either. He suddenly decided that he could not see without apparent reason.

This disables the all-in-(n) same B & W printing, much less make copies, etc. If the cartridges are going to 'die' after a few months without even being used, I won't have to support this new strategy of marketing of HP. These things are quite expensive as it is!

Is there a way to get this printer working with just the HP74 B & W cartridge that was installed at the same time as the color, then this thing will provide at least a basic feature? I very rarely use the characteristics of the color anyway so don't care if the color cartridge is there or not.

Is there a diagnosis that can be used? How long the cartridges guarantee for?

For potential HP customers, I suggest to determine if the printer HP of interest "requires" all print cartridges 'work' to be able to work at all! Clearly a bad design choice.

True happiness!

A replacement cartridge arrived, was installed and was recognized immediately put the printer in operation. Indeed, it was a failure of cartridge as I initailly reported. I wish just that it was not too difficult, but once I did it past phone support things went smoothly. I will update my FTC complaint to indicate that a replacement has been provided by the warranty.

I also noticed that this cartridge has indeed a 'date' printed on the cartridge Unlike earlier in the packaging of HP from Best Buy.

Thank you, Jennifer!

  • How to disable the device Alias in the profile of the host

    Hi all

Could someone tell me how this is acutally done, documentation VMwares seems to go in the circle on the subject:

VMware KB: Remediation of host profile fails with an error device alias

Apparently if you have guests who are not identical, but you still want to use the host profiles to configure items on a new host you can disable the device alias but they never say how.  The closest thing is to change the profile of the host and remove the sub profiles do not require you, I found, but it does not work.

Any help with this would be greatly affect.

    Thanks again,

Simply remove the Alias Configuration of device in the profile of the host and this error will disappear.  Yet only once if your hosts are not exactly the same.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not disable the device password!

I was playing with my Storm the weekend and decided to apply a password to the device. Now I can't turn it off and I hate that I am constantly asked for her. When I go to 'Options', then 'password' it has not the ability to disable the password feature. The toggle button at the top of the password page is soft gray with a tiny tiny red lock next to her and I can't click on the button. The only thing I can do is to change the password. Any suggestions? !!

I solved my problem. I did a reset of the handset and that got rid of the option activate the password. However, when I did a backup of subsequent restoration of the handset, I was careful to choose only what I wanted really saved (address book, calendar, etc.). If oyu make a full backup that you will get the active password once you restore again.

  • Disable the touch screen

I have a HP ENVY x 360-m6-w105dx and would like to know if there is anyway to temporarily disable the touch screen?

    Hello.

I did it via Device Manager in Windows.

Look under "Human Interface Devices".  There should be a line for HID-compliant touch screen (or something similar).

Double click on that and then click on "disable the device.

You can make it work again by clicking on "Activate the device" in the same place.

    Good luck!

Please follow the steps as indicated below to solve the problem

    Disable the biometric identifiers:

    Delete the biometric login option:

Control Panel > biometric devices > change biometric parameters

Uncheck the BOX "Allow users to log on to Windows using their fingerprints"

    Save the changes.

To remove the biometrics data for all users, click the option button (round) "off biometrics.

Click on the 'Resources' tab, under "Conflicting device list" note the device in conflict. • Disable the touch screen for a laptop Windows 8?

I have a Dell XPS L702x infamous Ghost by clicking on issues where the touch screen randomly 'clicks' on arbitrary areas of the screen (mine seems to be in the lower right corner, often minimize all my open windows or opening calendar) and through the upgrade to Windows 8, it seems a former N-Trig driver who disappeared I would disable the touch screen. Now, I have no way to disable the touch screen, and while Google suggested release "Use your finger as input device" under the pen and touch, I don't even have this available to UN-click box on!

So: How can I disable the touch screen on my laptop or y at - it a program that can do for me? I am indifferent in fact using the touchscreen - I'm more concerned with the ability to functionally use my laptop without sporadic clicks on my screen.
    Thank you.

I had the same problem with XPS 17 my wife.    I needed to restore basic functionality so that disabling the touch screen was acceptable.     However, unlike samie (but like you) I didn't "Use your finger as input" option in the control panel.

I tried to disable the device N-Trig driver in Device Manager, but the pilot did not appear to have be properly installed (after the upgrade from win7)

I went on the N-Trig (http://www.n-trig.com/Content.aspx?Page=Downloads_Drivers) driver download site and download the new drivers for windows 8 (I have the feeling that they weren't here last week).

I then when options "Device Manager" on the "Hardware and Sound" page of the control panel.

In the Device Manager screen, I saw a node N-trig DuoSense digitizers with several below subnode (before dev driver install it there was only one).

I right mouse button on the element at the top, with a name that ends by "between the roots" and select "disable."

    This touch screen successfully disabled.

Pity to lose the touch screen, but my wife does not use it and I was in danger of my life, as it was.

  • Disable the touchscreen in the operative part of Windows 8, but no entries of digitizer pen

    Currently, I bought a tablet of 10 Lenovo's Thinkpad.

When you use the stylus to the digitizer to write using Windows Journal for example, I keep getting unwanted tickets at the touch of the hand.

I noticed from previous posts that you can disable touchscreen input manually by disabling the device corresponding through Device Manager.

Is it possible to disable the entry of the touch screen, while keeping the digitizer input active in Windows 8?

    Kind regards

    Alan

I don't know who, but I know that newspaper is deprecated in favour of OneNote, which has a Tablet and a desktop version freely available on all platforms. There rejection button better and more modern, you can try it.

  • How to disable the annoying message "Printer cartridges no HP installed" on Windows 7?

How to disable the annoying message "Printer cartridges no HP installed" on Windows 7? I have a HP Officejet 6500 has more and there is a way to disable those annoying pop ups. First of all, why HP can't fix their software to display only 1 message. If I turn on my printer, I get about 5 popups when the 3-minute delay. Is - this embarrassing? You bet, I do not turn off my printer more to avoid these messages. There must be a registry entry that I can delete gladly. Ideas? If you are an employee of HP, please do not give the Conference on "genuine cartridges" and how you take care of your printer. I've had my printer for 7 years and never had a problem with cartridges not HP. They are all made in China.

This isn't a bad idea, but this does not resolve the issue. There are many complaints from customers about these annoying messages. All HP needs to do is to say to their developers to add a function to disable this feature. What is a marketing thing? Yes, it's a boring marketing question that should really be fixed. It's like Windows display constantly that your device drivers are not fully tested. Of course, when a customer buys a product at a lower price, they take this risk. I hate to be notified 365 days a year that my cartridges are not authentic.

  • How can I disable the cartridge on my HP officejet printer protection 8600?

    Hello

I read that the officejet 8600 has a cartridge protection feature that can be disabled through the Toolbox. I have been through all the settings in the printer of his auto tools and can not find, I also have trawled through all kinds of HP stuff on my computer and cannot find any protection tool box or cartridge feature.

It's one of the links, I'm referring too.

    http://www.cartridgesupport.com/HP950and951usage.PDF

But has met several items similar to this on the net. If someone out there can give me a step by step method to achieve this goal, I will be eternally grateful.

    Thanks in advance.

    Robert

Is your printer still under warranty? You can check with the tool of warranty HP here.

If this printer is connected over the network, you can enter the printer's IP address in your browser and change the settings there.  You can find the IP address of the printer from the Control Panel, click on the wireless icon.

This disables the marking cartridge so that they cannot be used in another printer, that it does not print with another printer that have already been marked cartridges.  From the web page: "feature allows you to mark all the authentic HP used in your printer cartridges so that they cannot be used in any other printer. If someone tries to use your cartridge protected in another printer, use of the cartridge will be blocked and they will be that it can be used in the original printer. »

  • J4580 print cartridge problem: [Tri-Color] refer to the device Documentation

Well, I'm starting to feel like I knew better, buy another HP printer after dismal luck with two all-in-one before.

My J4580 already gives me headaches after only 6 or more months of use.

The unit refuses to print, declaring "print cartridge problem: [Tri-Color] refer to device Documentation to troubleshoot."  Nothing in the help documentation.  The Habs is always 90% full.  Sometimes pulling the Habs and placing back in crazy wil it restarting.  When it restarts, it prints perfectly.

I tried the ubiquitous "clean the contacts" and other instructions help generic that I saw, but those who were without help.  The "Solution Center (Yes, good)" appears and all ithas is a link to buy more ink (!).

Someone has an idea?  I'm about to throw it through the window of stores office, given that I can't throw it out the window of HP.

    Thank you!

Yes * I know * and I'm sorry that I forgot to come back here.  I had a major system crash and I had to reinstall a lot of drivers for my multimedia player, GPS, and printer (!).  As this occurs, the device did not return this error - touch wood.

  • The MAX properties of the device button is disabled / grayed

    Hello

I am in the process of commissioning of a Labview test bench controlled so looking for conditions in which the system can become dangerous.

If I simulate a computer/software crash by stopping LabVIEW (using the windows Task Manager) exits Digital remain frozen in their last State before shutdown. I need them all to become 'low state' (off) because that would make the safe test bench. How can I do this?

After doing some reading, I tried to define the type of MAX, by going to the INTERFACES AND DEVICES, select the device, and then click PROPERTIES. However, the properties button is disabled / grey so I can't access the properties.

I use the following software versions: Labview 8.6, MAX 4.7.1 and NOR-DAQmx 9.2.1

The material is: cDAQ NI9178 (chassis) and NI9481 (electromechanical relay module).

    Thank you very much

Loss of power of the computer, the relay will revert to their default open State.  Even if the device is disconnected from the computer.  This is where the power is connected to the computer, but the application crashes that you will need to take another way to reset the relay.

  • HP Pro450 G2: Disabling certain features of the Device Access Manager

I want to transfer data to my new laptop. To do this, I plugged a USB portable device from Seagate. Access to Device Manager then invites me my Windows password. So far I have not (yet) problems, but while I am trying to transfer data (300 GB) which lasts a few hours, the Device Access Manager appears a ball EVERY 15 minutes asking a password confirmation. I want to disable this current 15 minutes for a password prompt. If I'm not in front of the PC and the miss the bubble pop up then data transfer stops and I have to start over. SO BORING.

As I said, I do not fear demand for a password when the device is connected, but the interval of 15 minutes for a password entry must be disabled. I can't stay here all night when you do backups of data for the ball wating to pop-up every 15 minutes.

    Kind regards

You can uninstall Device Access Manager for HP ProtectTools without any concern.  It is only there to prevent users from connecting devices and copy the data from external drives.  For most people, it is not even necessary.  Simply go to the Control Panel window and uninstall through programs & features.

  • in the output log file bit 00's are added, why? (Do not run the attached vi. It disables all devices in your system)

    Hi all

I've attached a zip file when co-existence.vi is the main file of vi that communicates with a USB device and returns some responses of ATR.

The answers are stored in a log file. I have attached the log file. In the log file in three places while displaying ATR, get added some unwanted 00's. Please help me how it is and how to remove it?

    Thank you

    Mathan

[Note: (not to run the attached vi.] It disables all devices in your system)].

It seems that the duration depends on the value you get out of the dll (dwARTLen). You have wired it as 100, so it seems that the dll simply returns the entry. Maybe you want to check the documentation for the dll on the way to get the actual length.

A large part of your code is very confusing...

    • You have several subVIs that are essentially the same, but with different names. Not one of these not enough?
    • What is the purpose of the loop IN the adhc.vi? Since you autoindex in a table of a line, it will be executed only once, and the result is the same as if you would remove the loop FOR.
    • Your main VI is extremely repetitive with lots of duplicate code. You have 12 instances of the file name constant, would be enough! Enable.VI is identical to disable.vi, except for a constant of diagram. Much the same constant string ("ATR: ', ' peripheral access card:", etc. "), once again, everyone is enough.

Here a nice state machine would make all the difference.  You need only about 10% of the current code, eliminating all the rehearsals.
