HPE h8-1300z AMD (AG2) CTO: Question of BIOS

I see this in the UEFI BIOS firmware updates but it's very vague on what it actually is about: -.

I was able to find a more recent version than the f. 7.05 version you have currently installed.

It is designed for the motherboard product nuimber M3970AM-HP you suupplied in your last post.

See the following link for the version 7.16.

  • HPE h8-1300z AMD (AG2) CTO: BIOS updates

I get errors in the case where the viewer that points to the firmware updates that are not available.

Seems that I bought a model desktop computer that was removed from the line up, just after that he was released. My machine was released in 6/2012 (bought mine in 7/2012) and went through 12/2012.

This is why when I try to find updates for the software, there is none, as well as questions about the BIOS updates that do not exist.

That is the problem. I already went to support HP software update page and has been properly using my model number and serial number and downloaded and installed several updated to find that it was not for my pc. The problem being HP offered so many different types of this particular model was a type of 'Customer To Order. All updates are so hit or miss due to different types. NVIDIA as opposed to ATI - AMD, Intel, as opposed to AMD and on the line is the differences in motherboards, hard disks, LAN cards and it goes on and on. So, instead of being able to stem what model gets what it ends up being a guessing game. I am aware of the differences of GPU and CPU but uses this to emphasise that it is confusing, not only for me but it seems HP to find which refers exactly to my bench.

I made the mistake of trying to install an update of the BIOS that was listed for my pc see it is bad that did not take long to understand it fried my machine one should be fired and replaced by HP under warranty. I am out of warranty now and am stuck with trying to find in the section Support, which refers exactly.

The Question? : - I have no chance or HP plans, on the road, to keep updates on these older models. Seems I got a machine that was a little bit late, just like the models of Windows 8 were charged and there was no decline more motherboard I have is proprietery even if it is not made by Gigabyte, after contacting them they have no idea what my MB or if there are updates to the BIOS.  I spoke with a representative from HP repair when I had to send it in last summer and said "off the cuff" well "you may need to get an another MB and of course which will void your warranty. Imagine that felt.

A warning I made an update of the chipset and it slowed my machine in his reading and writing speeds and ended up having to uninstall the IDE drivers / ATA and let Windows install a generic SATA driver to get speeds in paragraph... for some reason any I find this right on the edge of the unacceptable to HP.

Sorry, Big Dave, but you're wrong. First reading of Scripture & speeds were half of what they were supposed to be, then using three types of disc utilities including all the three said methods of transfer of 300 GB rather than the 600 GB transfer modes. Even the s HDD tray case showing in these modes. Update the firmware on the Samsung magician update not due to lower transfer mode that has been reported by the OEM. Its software said you are in AHCI mode, but you're NOT in mode SATA III.

Only by uninstalling the SATA controller AMD was I could join SATA III speeds that all three utilities confirmed and was able to run the Software Wizard and finishing of optimization settings.  Sequential transmissions went from 255.3/116.4 to 453.5/138.5 and btw I had a long telephone conversation with Samsung and their people said I was getting speeds SATA II and that it was said by the guys from reps/repair of HP in Tennessee themselves than those speeds where SATA II speeds also. Do not make any assumptions.

I found an updated BIOS to start with and unfortunately found that listed for my only disabled MB MB. The SSD itself is fine. Here are registry settings changes from 3 to 0 then started to the BIOS and change the setting from AHCI RAID storage

    REG ADD HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\msahci /v start d 0 /f /t REG_DWORD
    REG ADD HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi /v start d 0 /f /t REG_DWORD
    REG ADD HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\amdsata /v start d 0 /f /t REG_DWORD
    REG ADD HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\nvstor /v start d 0 /f /t REG_DWORD
    REG ADD HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\nvraid /v start d 0 /f /t REG_DWORD
    REG ADD HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\iaStor /v start d 0 /f /t REG_DWORD

When you restart, windows does the rest.

  • HPE h9 - 1110t Phoenix CTO: Questions about change of graphics card

Hello, my computer is a HP Pavilion HPE h9 - 1110t Phoenix CTO desktop PC. I think it's time to replace the graphics card, it's come up with, the GeForce GT 545. Lately my performance in games such as Star Wars The Old Republic has considerably decreased in FPS and it stutters terribly while he was playing even on the smaller settings. The fan is really loud when the games. And in the past two months, I got two random reboots, which gave rise to a video as material error being the cause. The fan blades have a lot of dust between the two, but they are so small and placed together, I can't clean it good.

I have an EVGA GeForce GT 640 to replace. But I have a few questions first. This card is compatible with my motherboard, right? Second, before installing it, should I uninstall the drivers I have right now for my 545? If so, I then stop and put the new? And after that I put in, the resolution will be all twisted up until I have install new drivers? And should I install the drivers from the NVIDIA site, right and forget the CD?

Also, I have a 600w PSU, fake? That's what the specs say on HP for my computer, so it's going to be enough to have the right to TG 640?

And then, about my diet, I want to get dust inside of it, but I won't come out or open or other. I saw on the site of HP I can take a vacuum and suck the dirt out of the outside vent. Can I do this without damaging it? I have a vacuum in my garage from Sears, I got that I use to clean my car, which would be allowed to use on the outside vent?

    Thank you for the answers!

    GT545 (75W) and 640 (65W) are only 10W difference.

Uninstall via the Device Manager.  I always liked create a new installation with the latest software and driver CD. If you wish, use the old CD. That will be established. It will update.  If you use a shop vacuum, keep the nozzle in contact with the metal frame. I like the nozzle between 2 fingers from the cradle.

  • HP Pav HPE h8-1300z: LACK of CONTROLLERS IDE ATA/ATAPI!

Recently I had to reformat my HARD drive using my HP OEM recovery disks. Now when I go into Device Manager, there is no registration for the ATA/ATAPI IDE controller. There is no UNKNOWN devices and there is no OTHER devices listed by eliminating this question. I feel I might need to re Flash my BIOS but there is no ads for this installation of support for my PC software it displays only a BIOS for another MoBo. I was hoping that the recovery disks would have an opportunity to re - install the drivers, but it seems he does only a comeplete OS re - install.

Is there a way I can install the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers without having to do a complete OS re - install?

Your motherboard has a SATA controller and the connectors. There is no IDE connector on the motherboard Angelica2.

    Hello

    I have since 25.01.2012 12.1 amd drivers on my Satellite L555 - 10 m on it.
I have an ati radeon hd 4650 in it, but in the version noted the following:
The following books are not compatible with this version:
Notebooks of Toshiba® (please contact the laptop OEM for support of the drivers for these laptops)

    http://support.AMD.com/us/KbArticles/pages/AMDCatalystSoftwareSuiteVersion121.aspx

    what it means?

    I would appreciate help.
    Thanks in advance!

    Best regards

Laptops are specific products with a specific design and cooling system. Because of this material, the activity is controlled by laptop manufacturer. All laptop manufacturers offer customized display driver to reduce the performance of the graphics card to a reasonable level.

At top level on performance can produce more heat, overheating and even damage the hardware. This is the reason why it is recommended the use of Toshiba drivers only.

  • P7 - 1050t CTO Pavilion: update BIOS on HP Pavilion p7 - 1050t CTO

I have a Pavilion p7 - 1050t CTO Office I tried to get a 610 GT graphics card installed. (I have another question in the forum about this).  However, I wanted to ask a separate question on the BIOS.

My computer came with Windows 7, but I recently upgraded to Windows 10. The BIOS is FRIEND V7.14 dated 11/08/2011. If I have a search for updates on p7 - 1050t and Windows 10 no updates are. However, if I search for updates with the help of HP using Windows 7 as OS, it is an update of the BIOS. Downloaded as .exe file and the given info says to use only with Windows 7.

My question is, should I start in Windows 7 before you attempt the flash update and if it is successful, you who help to then restart in Windows 10 or can I try safely the flash in Windows 10.  I have the ability to dual-boot.

Never mind.  I decided to just buy a new computer.

    Thank you.

  • Satellite A80-154: Questions on BIOS/cooling

    Dear Sir or Madam,

I recently bought a Satellite A80 154 of the German retailer "Media Markt" for only EUR 1299,-.

Although the general impression of the laptop is fine, I have two questions that make me think back to the seller. The questions are:

    (1) cooling system is too strong, in particular Linux, which is my main platform. However, the problem occurs on Windows, where I am able to slow down the CPU frequency (but not GPU) with an average success in terms of reduction of sound intensity.

    (2) bios of a laptop is by Phoenix and not Toshiba, which I expect to find (it's a big problem for me, since the Linux kernel for Toshiba laptops support is much better than that of Phoenix BIOS).

    Here are my questions:

Toshiba selling different versions of the Satellite A80 154? (for example a good market with Phoenix bios and more expensive with a Toshiba bios and improved cooling). If they did, I would invest the additional EUR 300,- and buy one directly from Toshiba (if possible at all). I also ask, because I tried to update the Bios with version 1.70 - WIN (is this Toshiba BIOS?) from the BIOS download site unfortunately without success (he complains about the size of the bad bios).
Is it possible to operate an A80-154 with BIOS Toshiba (and this would reduce the level of noise)?

    Sincerely yours.
    Martin Spindler.
PS: Will to sell Toshiba laptops supports the new standard MXM in the near future?
PPS: Please respond directly to the [email protected]

    Hello

1, on the volume of the cooling system, I can only advice you the Toshiba Power Saver or 4.23 SPEEDFAN tool.

2, which has your BIOS model depends on the series of products. If you want a Toshiba BIOS, you must choose a laptop as the M40 Satellite, Tecra M3, Tecra A4 or Tecra M4.
You can also ask your local dealer or test it!

    Good bye

  • <-not solved. HP Pro 6405, AMD - V enabled in the BIOS, but win7 pro 64 bit, it detects not

So, I have virtualization enabled in BIOS, and I tried like hell to get the Microsoft HAV tool to detect. This isn't.

VirtualBox does not detect it either. In fact, the tool from AMD (AMD-V_Hyper - V_Compatibility_Check_Utility.zip) does detect too.

It's the broken BIOS from the manufacturer?

Isn't it necessary a patch applied to Microsoft to fix this, or is HP responsible for setting their own products via a new updated BIOS?

And, before you post a reply, Yes, I went to the BIOS, security options, the value of virtualization "activated", recorded and then turns off the PC for 30 seconds before restarting it.

I get emails asking me what was my solution...

    Here it is:

I replaced it with a completely different PC. I took the original piece of crap, loaded by default, and he sold to one of my clients who didn't need the service VM.

I ordered and based on Intel 3400 Pro series, compatible Intel VT - x and it worked right out of the box.

I lost too much valuable time on this AMD System. It is broken,

To HP, you and your technicians have no idea how to solve this problem, because it cannot be resolved. I will not replace more motherboards, processors and any other nonsense you keep sending me to Exchange. This model is broken from the outset and I advise anyone who has to ask for a RMA and replace the product Intel.

    So this is my solution.

  • Satellite X 200 - 20 G: Question about BIOS 2.20

    Hello

Could you please bring me some lights on the warning that introduced the 2.20 BIOS upgrade:

*!!! * Upgrade BIOS from Windows XP BIOS only on VISTA BIOS V2.20 V5.10 or more! * *

I am mainly interested to understand what the relationship is with XP.

I have a Satellite X 200-20 G with the first hard drive with Vista (default configuration) and a XP Home edition on the second hard drive, and I use the menu of the BIOS to boot to one side or the other.

    Thank you
    Guy.

    Hello

On some laptops the BIOS must be updated to the XP version if the Win XP operating system has been installed.

The warning indicates that if you have already updated the BIOS to version 5.10 XP refresh you could again only at the version 2.20 of BIOS Vista.

But it seems that the version XP BIOS for Sam X 200 doesn't exist at this time and in my opinion you can neglect it ;)

  • Tecra S5 - Question about BIOS password

    Hello

I have a problem, when I acquire the computer, put a user password in the bios, and I don't remember him. I do authentication passes the finger in the analysis. Now I want to upgrade the operating system to win7 and do a fresh installation, not an upgrade.
Authentication via scan will be maintained or will be lost, when do the upgrade of the operating system?

    Thank you to

    Carlos

    Hi, Carlos

When you do the clean install of the OS, everything will be deleted, so my opinion is that you should remove all passwords before you start the installation of clean operating system.
unlock your laptop, install and configure the operating system and when the work is done to lock the laptop using passwords.

I tried to put a password on my bios and Stad typing the password I press ENTER and I saved the changes right:(si stupide?)

    concerning

If you know how to help me contact on this id daanino or answer here
    Thank you

    Hi Dan,.

Unfortunately there is no way 'backdoor' to access your system without the BIOS password. Most BIOS manufacturers install a 'default' password but they change it from time to time is not possible to say that one might have on your system (if any at all).

If you search Google for the BIOS reset password options you find many techniques described to bypass the BIOS password or even reset the CMOS completely chip, but the only way to truly guarantee to solve your problem is to take the laptop to an authorized Service partner who can reset the CMOS chip and re-flashing the BIOS. They generally need to see some evidence of property before they will do so.

  • Satellite A30: Question about Bios Update August 8

    Good afternoon

Am I right to assume that the update in August 2007 for my Satellite A30 is to allow him to work with MS Vista? There is no documentation with the download of the bios, but the bios description says "provides the additional functionality.

Can anyone describe what that this added functionality provides and is it really helps in 3-year upgrade of a machine? I use XP on it

    Kind regards

    Dave Smith

    Hello Dave

I'm pretty sure that old Satellite A30 is not taken in charge of Vista. Unfortunately there is no public document on the update of the BIOS and the exact list this update is good for. One thing I can say with certainty: If your OS works well and stabile let go and take advantage of Windows XP Home edition.

  • Question about BIOS for Satellite Pro A10 files

    Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 and later yesterday, he won't, he past the TOSHIBA start screen and then black with a flashing cursor, it didn't leave me in advanced settings or the settings of the BIOS, a friend told me I need to Flash BIOS, I came across the site and found only a BIOS update and management told me to use the floppy drive , he said when I unzip the file I get an .exe file which I opened and it will give me three files, one for the CD ROM, one for the floppy drive and the third I don't remember, but it didn't happen, when I unzipped the files in a temporary folder, but I never had the files.

I think I had to have it on my own laptop, and then it would be extracted properly, because my laptop does not work I can't do and even if I put the files on a disk, they are too big.

    Then...

Where can I get the files from the BIOS that I can put on a floppy disk and then I can boot from that disk and it will fix the BIOS?

    Thank you

    Hello

    OK, follow these steps:

Burn the file bios to CD on a CD, boot from it and update your bios. It's a simple and easy way. I Don t understand why it shouldn´t work, given that I ve updated my bios in the same way. I burned the image to CD and booted from this CD.

Please answer perhaps you just made a mistake when you think to (I sometimes do too much, not often, but it happens..)  :)

    Welcome them
