.htm to .html

My Web site, hundreds of pages since 1997, has the extension .htm on all pages.

Now, I've read the answers to this question, but none seem to tell how to change the extension .html forced of Muse to .htm (I'm afraid that if I use the htmL extension, not only will I lose the ranking in search engines, but also thousands of good links to our pages will be lost.) I'm not sure using a redirect 303 for each page is a good idea, and still less viable that our site is in several languages/folders and subfolders)

For any advice, thanks!

Have you tried? Links work properly, if you use "html" instead of "htm".

  • Apache sees no .htm or .html files not being not part of original FMS Linux installation

After an apparently successful installation of FMS 3.5 on a remote server in Red Hat (a browser pointed at webroot poster the index.html file provided with the RTMP and HTTP work), I tried to move videoplayer.html in the same directory webroot to test. It is not seen (404 error) of my browsers (IE or Firefox) but shows well with all permissions in my console Putty and Filezilla SFTP. I then tried copy and rename the other existing .htm or .html to this directory (and then other directories) files from the console (using cp) and with SFTP, but they are too invisible to my browser. All the .htm and .html files that were part of the original installation, however, are still visible in my browser.  I tried to restart the FMS server and confirmed that Apache was also revived but still no luck. This is my first post. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This may seem a stupid question, so I apologize in advance, but I made mistakes even more stupid than that, so I have to ask:

Are you sure that the index.html and the file now used are the same as those it serves? (Normally, the web root is/opt/adobe/fms/webroot on linux, if I remember correctly. You can have another directory with the same or similar files elsewhere and you add new files only elsewhere). Edit one of the files in a certain way and see if the change will appear in your browser.

This may seem like an even dumber question, but are you sure you use FMS apache rather than the stock of Red Hat one?

Web server logs (and configs and all but root doc) are under the apache2 directory. 2 (/opt/adobe/fms/Apache2.2/logs, by default).

  • my index.html makes differently if I name index.htm

I use dreamweaver to create a new Web site. During the test it (named index.html) home page renders correctly in firefox, but looks good in other browsers. I discovered that if I name index.htm or default.html it looks normal. The index.html file just seems wrong.

    HI ccsjoe,
It depends on so many different things. If you need assistance with this code please try stackoverflow for some tips from developer.

However, in my experience, the difference in htm vs html is that there is no real difference. However, even if there is no real difference, if the files are not the same, they will be different. http://www.sightspecific.com/~MOSH/ww.../ext.html

  • Find the files .html and .htm without a .dwt (model)

I have a site with 1 933 .html and .htm files. 809 files 1 933 have a. tpl. This leaves 1 844 files with n. tpl. I want to give the files of 1844 a. tpl. To make sure that I'm clear, I have 1 844 files .html and .htm without a parent of the model. I would like to locate them and give them a parent. TPL. My question is, other than opening and looking at each of the 1933 files, how can I find these orphaned files?

I found the best thing for me to do was a: 'Find and replace' research; "Search in: all current Local Site; "Search for: Source Code; "Find: ;" check "ignore white space /" and then "search everything".

This will find all htm and html documents in the properties. Scroll through the list looking for something out of use. It is not as difficult as it sounds. For example, I had more than 2,000 listed documents. The majority of my documents should have httpdocs\sermons. Anything outside of this folder has become suspect. I found a folder that I downloaded in an attempt for the redesign of my site to reagent trying to meet the demand of mobile enjoyment of Google. The folder contained over a thousand documents not in the httpdocs\sermons folder. I deleted the entire folder. I did another search 'find and replace '. I've then easily accounted for all my documents.

I keep thinking that there should be a way of locating documents not related by a .dwt (model).

  • I need help to get Dreamweaver to recognize html and php files and htm files.

I have a site legicy and it is prohibitive to chane the names of .php file. So I try to get Dreamweaver cs5.5 to interpret the htm and html files that are including php.

I'm under XAMPP as my test server.

I have the index.htm file and it displays all of the links as broken and will not work in live mode view with php includes. However if I rename .php file the file analysis correctly in dreamweaver.

Is there a work around that?

I was able to get the host to work Web site by editing the .htaccess file to use this code, but it does not work in Dreamweaver.

    AddHandler x-httpd-php5-cgi .php5

    AddHandler x-httpd-php-cgi .php4

    Options + ExecCGI

    AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .htm .html

    AddDefaultCharset UTF-8

    AddType text/html .htm .html .php

    AddOutputFilter INCLUDES .html .php .htm

I think you need to change your recording PHP file in XAMPP.

  • Why open an htm page recorded from 2008 to 2012, but not of 2013?

I saved a htm and html page or for 4 days per week from 2008 to 2012. These pages have no problems opening as the saved page. but for about 2013 those saved pages are open not as safe. On the site that comes from the page, I asked that if she had changed something, they said no. my system is the same as it has been for many years (10), windows XP service pack 3. as for the other saved files there is no problem, I'd be happy to send as an attachment a page from 2008 and recorded as early as 2013.

Have you checked the content of files that do not work in a text editor?

  • Windows Mail - insert HTML signature?

    Greetings,
Using Windows Mail (Vista), I tried to follow the instructions: http://www.timeatlas.com/mos/Email/General/Create_Image_Signatures_in_Windows_Mail_or_Live_Mail/
When insert > file htm or html Signature, email image won't display, only a red X. So I kept Live Mail tips, with the same result.
Bed Notepad the HTML code and maintains the path information.
the same file to be opned in widows Mail REMOVES the path information.

Basically, it seems once I saved the HTML it adds or removes information, which makes the image is no longer visible.

Windows Mail - insert HTML signature?
    (1) path Info IS recorded and visible in Notepad.
    (2) Windows Mail is to REMOVE the path information
    [url = http://img19.imageshack.us/i/widowsmailhtml.jpg/] [img = http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/4718/widowsmailhtml.th.jpg] [url]

    Hey sadicus,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers Forum!

    1. this problem may occur if the Windows Mail is unable to locate the source of the image to be included in the e-mail message.

    2. to resolve this problem, use a text editor (such as Notepad) to edit the custom signature HTML file to add the full path of the location of the graphics file information before sending the e-mail message.  Here is an example of the code without the path:

    3. This example of HTML refers to the Test.gif file. Only the source of the image (img src) information, lists the file name, but does not list the path to the files. In this example, you would change the HTML code:

4 take a look on the link below for more information on changing the settings of Signature:

  • Updates to Index.htm

I did the updates of my home page (index.htm) in Dreamweaver CM³, saved and "put" on the remote server. They are not up-to-date on the online site. Could this be a problem of asp?

This can be caused by a number of issues...

1 servers are case sensitive, check your file name and links to verify that they have the same letter case

    2. is your index finger a .htm or .html on your site? Default DW, .html, if you put index.html and index.htm, the wrong one can be served to the Viewer, rather than the right one when you browse the site

    3. speaking of browsers, you may need to disable your browser's cache to see the most up to date file

4 are you sure that you have uploaded to the correct location? If your Site definition has a missing or false remote root folder, you can simply download an incorrect location

    5. it might be an ASP problem, check the first 4 above before diving into your script

Could you share a link to your site? Who can help limit.

  • record in htm format

  • Query PHP to HTML data movement

    Howdy all,

    Noob again question.

I spent the last month working on a bunch of HTML pages, and with your help, I was able to get well enough to the CSS, positioning, formatting etc.

I am very satisfied with my 20 pages or more and the ease with which they can now be handled.

So I'm ready to kick up a notch, and this weekend began to my configuration database and created a single table.

I am able to hit my server, open the db, do a query and display the results on the screen empty (hooray!).

BUT! Enter this 'trick' of the DB in my HTML pages is another story.

This morning I tried the page next and after a small jump, got to work.

But please don't tell me that I have to write all of this PHP code for each of the variables on my pages

There are "dummy" variable I can use - $query = htmldummy; htmldummy goes into a div or < td >?

Is there some javascript that I can use to transfer MANY variables read the DB to HTML?

Can I register any html or php pages?

    You have any ideas?

Again, if you can just point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful.

Save pages with the code server in them like .php side.

the .htm or .html pages did not analyse the data unless your host has set up your server to read pages .html as if they were .php.    According to my experience, it is much simpler to use only the .php extension.

  • ColdFusion 10 Apache process. HTML files containing CFML

I'm on Mac Mountain Lion, but that shouldn't make a difference.

It's for a clients site, so I need to get this working ASAP.

Has tips on how to get CF NY 10 working with this configuration, only serving .html files which contain CFML?

    So far I have tried:

    1. Add *.html and *.htm = cfusion cfusion = in my uriworkermap_cfusion.properties file.

    2. Add .htm and .html to the jakarta-servlet .cfm .cfml .cfc .cfr .cfswf AddHandler line in my apache conf file.

.cfm files and Admin CF make correctly, but when I call a .html file that contains CFML I get an error from Tomcat indicating that the requested resource is not available.

Thanks for any advice on this, I'm out of ideas.

I had no problem it works on Windows, IIS, and CF10.

I'm on another system, but my guess is that:

    (1) the properties file must contain the lines

    *.cfm = cfusion

    *.html = cfusion

    *.htm = cfusion

    (2) you must save the file as uriworkermap.properties;

    (3) the intention is now to change /WEB-INF/web.xml file system, by adding html and htm mappings. First save the file, just in case.

Open the web.xml file in a text editor. Locate the elements whose IDS are of the form "coldfusion_mapping_x", where x is a number across {0,1,2,...}. Locate more than the number. Let's call it X. The ID of a new ColdFusion mapping will begin by X+ 1.

Now, edit the web.xml file by adding the 2 following new mappings immediately after the number X of mapping (replacing X with the actual value!):

    CfmServlet

    * .html / *.

    CfmServlet

    *.htm; *

To illustrate, on my system, the largest number in the ID of the form "coldfusion_mapping_x" is 15. So, for me, X is 15. So if I followed the instructions above, I must add the following mappings 2 immediately after the number 15 of the mapping:

    CfmServlet

    * .html / *.

    CfmServlet

    *.htm; *

    Save the edited web.xml file.

    (4) restart ColdFusion.

  • Contribute 4 Won ' t forget index.htm

Hi, I'm a customer problem troubleshooting (I'm new to contribute, using the v4). One of the three sites I now administer did not upward to the correct home page because that there is both an index.htm index.html on the server page. I removed the irregular (index.htm) from the server, and may not contribute to forget. I tried:
1 remove the connection and create a new, accessing the correct home page. Everything is OK until I opened the connection and I get a page not found error. If I add the extra "l" to index.htm, everything works OK.
2 change the order help search for the default server settings Web pages, moving index.htm index.html below. Contribute does not take into account the order and still looking for index.htm.
3 deleted index.htm in the list of default pages on the Web server settings. Contribute still seeks the index.htm.

Two other sites have been initially implemented with page index.html and work fine. It must be a file, cache or something on the site or on my workstation, keep this setting. It's all just annoying because I can show the client how to get around it, but I want to fix it.

    Perhaps this is:

    1. in the menu, go to Edition, administer Web sites, select your site
    2. go in users and roles
    3. find your role
    4. click on change role settings
    5. change the setting in the field below "Home Page for users in this role.

  • Install PHP5 on Readynas Duo v2 (should work on all ARMS)

Since I'm not a big fan of paying for things that are easily made by myself, I thought that
I would like to take the time to write how I went about to install and configure PHP5, MySQL and phpMyAdmin
on the ReadyNAS Duo v2. (pun partially, although the readynasxtras offer one range of other)
package, such as opt-in the add-on paid...)

This assumes you already have EnableRootAccess running.

1 installation and configuration of PHP5.

First of all, we need to install the package PHP5 with apt - get. Connect to your NAS through SSH to start.
We are as safety conscious users (;-)) the root account is disabled for the connection ofc, so we have to
perform these operations as sudoers instead. Type:

    sudo apt - get install libapache2-mod-php5 php5-cli-common php5 php5-cgi

Some of the packages will be probably marked as installed or the value manually. This is normal, so just
Type Y and sit back while than packages being installed.

After that, he must add the php5_module and trigger php files to be handled by the php5 module.
    Type:

    sudo /etc/frontview/apache2/httpd.conf

Then, locate the lines loading of modules, for ex.:

    LoadModule perl_module /usr/lib/apache2/modules/mod_perl.so

Add these lines to this section in the file:

    LoadModule php5_module /usr/lib/apache2/modules/libphp5.so
    Script-php5 .php AddHandler

    Now find this line:

    DirectoryIndex index.html index.htm redirect.html

    and to take:

    DirectoryIndex index.html index.htm index.php redirect.html

Now, he must restart apache by typing:

    sudo killall apache-ssl
    apache-ssl - f /etc/frontview/apache/httpd.conf sudo

You should now be able to use PHP on your ReadyNAS!

I'm going to write a statement about how to install and configure MySQL and phpMyAdmin as well in the
upcoming posts, but given that I have to go now, to do for the moment.

    See you soon,.
