Client Windows 7 OS steals my CD

Got an iMac (Cougar) running Windows 7 in VMWare Fusion 5.x. When Windows 7 is running, and that I insert a CD, it insists on the editing of the CD, and then, I don't have access to it under OS X. Y has a kind of setting that prevents Windows to "steal" my CD whenever I have insert a?

Thank you!

I just normally keep the CD/DVD offline in the Virtual Machine, unless I need right now.  Take a look on, Connect and Set Up a CD/DVD Drive and connect and disconnect the CD/DVD Drive without using the settings window.

How can I stop Windows Search to steal the focus on the text input area?

I can type about three characters maximum and then results focus, and I have to click with the mouse to the area of searching at the end.

For example - I want to get "Img1.bak".

I type 'I' "m" and then I'm whisked away and the 'g', I typed just takes me to the "great songs by Imogen Heap.txt" or what is the first result starting with g.

I have to reselect the text box and add a letter or two at a time to get what I need. Very frustrating.

  • The client (Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7) users can connect to Microsoft Small Business Server 2008?

    Dear all,

I intend to install on Server 2008 SBS Active Directory domain controller. In this session, I would like to know the client users can connect to the SBS server or not. If CAN, I want to know the steps & solutions on this answer and if NOT, why the clients could not connect to the SBS server.

Server 2008 SBS can also be installed on the sequence of steps:
SBS 2008 (AD, Exchange Server, SQL 2005 or 08, CRM4.0). It depends on the situation of the organization.

I really want to know that, if we install steps on SBS 2008 above, can clients connect to the server?

    Kind regards

But now, I noticed that it doesn't work that well on my computer I so was wondering if I can still go back tot the Windows 7 starter and when I want to buy Windows 7 Home Premium, I can always buy the anytime upgrade or should I buy the full program? Please help me, I'm getting confused.

I was wondering if I can still go back tot the Windows 7 starter and when I want to buy Windows 7 Home Premium, can still buy the anytime upgrade or should I buy the full program? Please help me, I'm getting confused.

Buy an Anytime Upgrade, you must first reinstall Windows 7 Starter.

Besides reinstalling Windows, you can also try this, if you have the Windows.old folder to restore your previous Windows installation:

Return to a previous system Windows using Windows.old:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx/KB/971760
Note: If you had installed Windows 7, follow the instructions for Vista

Please note: you cannot uninstall the preview of consumption. To return to your previous version of Windows, you will need to back up your personal files, and then reinstall Windows from the installation or recovery media and reinstall your programs.

    Reinstalling Windows

Reinstall Windows preinstalled on the computer
When Windows is installed with the computer, computer OEM manufacturers are required to provide at least one way for you to reinstall Windows - your computer should have included a recovery hard disk partition, or the installation/restore Windows diskettes. Most computer manufacturers also have a function to do your own installation disks.

If the recovery partition is still there, and was not deleted, it will reinstall Windows. There is usually a command prompt when you start the computer telling you which key press to start the restoration? -Check your manual if you don't know how. Or if you install disks - enter them, restart and boot from them to start the process of relocation.

If restore it back you to factory State, it will be like it was when you bought first - all preinstalled programs will be installed. Everything you have installed after purchase needs to be reinstalled. This removes all the personal files on the computer, save them first.

Windows preinstalled - if you don't have the recovery partition or install discs:
Contact the OEM computer manufacturer and ask them to send you an installation to your computer disk - they may charge a small fee. Contact information for the manufacturer of your computer can be found here:

  • updates - updates has not pushed to remote clients (Windows Server 2003)

    original title: critical updates

    Hello

I have an Windows Server 2003 with Windows XP Pro SP3 clients/members area and allows you to push critical updates for WSUS clients.

However, updates are not pushed to the remote clients even with the connected VPN tunnel.  The only time updates are pushed to these remote clients is when they visit the office and connect to our LAN.

Is there a way for remote clients to get their updates without having to remove them as a member of my domain?

  • Client Windows 7 Professional DNS fails to resolve the name - when connectin to a Windows Server 2003

A professional Windows 7 workstation is unable to resolve the name when connecting to a Windows Server 2003 server.

I ran the Portqry tool and discovered a problem with the Port 53 and open this Port in the Windows Firewall on the client and Windows Server 2003.  However, it may not always resolve the name and I can't get the Windows 7 workstation to join the domain.

Our DNS server is at the ISP, but enabled DNS on Windows Server 2003.  I can ping the IP address of the server from the Windows 7 client

nslookup is solved using the FULL domain name.

Any ideas on other settings, I need change and port that I need to open to allow?

  • E-mail client Windows downloaded only the elements of the yahoo email inbox

I have configured my client email Yahoo mail with windows account...

-The problem is it has downloaded all the emails and now my Inbox in the server is empty... I can shoot back (this is just in case I don't make use of customer mail later I don't want to lose my emails)
-It only downloaded Inbox items... Sent items, other files have not been uploaded

    -Windows Live Mail

-My other email accounts, it downloaded everything (I'm talking about the other files too) and also gave a copy of it on the server. But it has happened with Yahoo :( He just dropped everything!

You can import all folders when moving from a mail client to another client of e-mail such as Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail, but not webmail.

Since you're using WLMail, ask in The Forum Windows Live Mail here.

  • Client Windows 7 on SBS2003

I have a new windows 7 Pro 64-bit and I'm not trying to add it as a customer to my SBS2003. I added the computer and the user account, I was told to go to http://myserver/ConnectComputer/ on the client and I do and I get to the web page that says ' you will need your user name and password to connect to the Small Business Server network. I click Connect to the network now and I get a popup saying "in order to join the SBS domain I need to be administrator, click OK and another page that says:"Run the wizard to complete the installation program network.", but nothing is there to click." I did the fix KB 926505 and restarted the server, but still the same page. No Virus scan on the new computer. I also have other computers (XP) on this server.

Please note that I'm not a guy from script before asking this question.

I have a domain with client computers about 100.  The security for these systems logs becomes a real pain to manage manually.  I want to write a script that could wipe out all the papers and then save them in our SIN.  Someone at - it a script that they currently use to perform this operation or may know a better way to manage security logs save and clear for all these customers?

No, it * never * happens.

It's a scam and with all the names and phone numbers, one that has become very common these days. See http://www.troyhunt.com/2012/08/virus-scams-social-engineering-victims.html

In addition to their money get on your part to do anything of any value, if you let them into your computer, who knows what damage they did here or what confidential information they stole.

So if you have done so, I highly recommend that you do both of the following immediately:

1 do a clean reinstall of Windows.

    2. change all of your passwords, especially banks or other
    financial sites.
