application of 32-bit VC ++ does not style xp on windows server 2003 x 64
I have an old application VC6 and I turn into VS2010 and add style xp by using Add following code to stdafx.h
#if
_M_IX86 defined
#pragma
Comment (linker, "/ /MANIFESTDEPENDENCY: \" type = "win32" name version = 'Microsoft.Windows.Common - controls ='6.0.0.0 ' processorArchitecture = "x 86" publicKeyToken = '6595b64144ccf1df' language ='* '-"")
#elif
_M_IA64 defined
#pragma
Comment (linker, "/ /MANIFESTDEPENDENCY: \" type = "win32" name version = 'Microsoft.Windows.Common - controls ='6.0.0.0 ' processorArchitecture = "ia64" publicKeyToken = language '6595b64144ccf1df' ='* '-"")
#elif
_M_X64 defined
#pragma

The application is 32-bit app and it works fine on my windows xp (xp style display), but when I run the application on a windows Server 2003 sp2 x 64 it doesn't show xp style. The Dependency walker tool shows it load C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls_6595b64144ccf1df_5.82.3790.4770_x-ww_A689AB02 comctl32.dll, it seems that this is the reason why it shows old style b/c that v5.82 is the latest version in this win Server 2003 but in my xp there is a C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.2600.6028_x-ww_61e65202. so the question is to know how to show xp style for 32-bit application on x 64 windows Server 2003? It is able to repair this installation a version 6.0 or later x 86 comctl32.dll in x 64 windows 2003 Server? and if so how do I install the comctl32.dll file?
Thank you
Marvin

Support for Microsoft Windows Server 2003
Hello
Can you please let me know the end of support for Windows Server 2003?
I manage and application that is currently running on Windows Server 2003 and will soon migrate to Windows Server 2012 but the exact date is not decided, as a lot of analysis should be done prior to the actual migration.
Please let me know when Microsoft end this support for their Windows Server 2003 so that I can work on that accordingly.
That would be really helpful. Any announcement already made by Microsoft on this? I found a few things online stating it would be 2015, but nothing seems to have come directly from Microsoft.
Thank you in advance for the information.

VB6 DLL is not log messages in the Windows Server 2003 event log when it is called from an ASP page
Hi all
I have an ASP web application, I will create a "VBModule1" (VB6 Dll) instance of an ASP page and inside this method of "VBModule1" I create an instance of another VB6 Dll 'VBLogger', who calls App.LogEvent () to write messages to the event log.
I tested the Web application on the develepoment (XP) machine and everything worked fine but when the user runs the Web application on the Production Server (windows server 2003) events are not saved.
Friend missing the security settings of my ASP web app that needs to be configured on Windows Server 2003 for VB6 DLLs logging events?
Please think as soon as POSSIBLE.

6. If you install on a 64-bit Linux guest OS, make sure that there are no missing dependencies. For more information, see Tools from VMware install fails to start the daemon of guest OS on the operating systems 64-bit Linux with the glibc-common package 32-bit installed (1023185).

Windows Server 2003 external to the application of the Apex and listener Apex?
Hi all
I have oracle RAC INSTALLED on solaris with three knots. I have several users with the CCR. I want to install APEX so that each user can access APEX if they need. Based on the Google search I did is not clear for me. My goal is to stay away as much as possible of the production systems. Could you please tell me which method can be good to implement this? I think following methods but I don't know if they are correct.
1 - Position the external Apex of Windows Server 2003
2 - Place the Apex listener in Windows Server 2003
3 - allow the user connect to the Windows Server to access Apex
Thank youHello
APEX needs to be installed in a database. If you do not want to expose your RAC and use a separate instance of the database, users will not be able to access the data available in the CARS (unless you create database links, but you usually don't want that).
You can install APEX Listener on your Windows 2003 to access the APEX facility in your RAC database. You must choose a J2EE container to host your listener of the APEX. See APEX listener installation guide for supported containers or search the forum or google to find out what other containers may be suitable for you (for example Apache Tomcat is not officially taken charge but able to accommodate the listener).
You need to configure the firewall and/or rules of routing for all users may access the port used by the container.-Udo

How to disable prior authentication logs on to Windows Server 2003
Hello
I was wondering if anyone knew a way to disable the prior authentication logs on to a Windows Server 2003 in the Event Viewer, we continue to receive many of these on our replication server that's used to be the PDC, as it is now a secondary to replicate the domain controller until we have completed the migration of all the stuff on the last domain controller. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much

During installation, ONLY the printer driver has been installed. I can't use the SCAN function or the FAX software. In fact, the icons for these two programs not created in the HP program group. No error message appeared well while installing.
All the world was a program similar and been able to get a work around for this? I would like to use AIO printer that I bought, not only on the side of impression of it.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thank you.

I think that the Acquisition of Image Windows (WIA) service is disabled in your system. Unlike Windows XP or Vista, in most Windows Server systems, this service is disabled by default. You can activate it in this way:
1. right click on my computer and select manage.
2. Select "Applications and Services-> Services";
3. find Windows Image Acquisition (WIA), right click and select Properties.
4. Select "auto" in the "Startup Type" list box in the "Général" tab
5. in the situation 'Services', click 'start '.

Cannot change the location of the Windows Server 2003 Server Win7 libraries
I have trouble understanding why I can't change the location of my Windows 7 Pro user libraries.
All my libraries that matter (My Documents, downloads, Desktop) are located @.
\\server1\users\USER
Libraries desktop and My Documents are synchronized with the Windows Sync Center and are located @.
documents \\server1\users\USER\My (& Desktop)
On the Windows 7 machine, I can't use the 'move' function normally there. The field is filled (locations above) but I can't change the locations, and there is no move operation.
So, I thought I'd move them manually, then changing the location of the registry of the library, but I prefer difficulty it some permissions issue is and use the libraries stock tool. I peut change locations library for my other libraries (for example Contacts or other) using the normal Win7 pass function lies in the properties of the library.
I inherited this Windows Server 2003 environment, and it is endangered. Try to get everything out of him before I log out - this Win7 machine is the last and I'm so excited.
What Miss me?
Thanks for any help!This issue is beyond the scope of this site and must be placed on Technet or MSDN
