  For the last 4 months, access to the internet (using xp with modem cable) automatic update downloads - KB954430.  I click on install-it shows that it is finished.  As soon as the computer down, the computer will display installation updated.  When you're done, computer stops.  BUT then the internet access, same thing all over again.  This has been ongoing for at least 4 months (I don't remember 1st time - but was Dec, Jan or Feb)

  Any ideas why or how to stop this ANNOYING computer action?

  Try to remove from the Add and Remove or programs and features, then

  On a 2010 model, ISO (or installer USB) is not supported. Can you burn W8.1 to a physical DVD, and try to install using Wizard of BC?

  Launch the program installation downloaded, then re - download via shopping page in the App Store. Make sure that you download the full installer which is about 6.2GBs in size. Before restarting the download please follow these steps:

  Repair the hard drive and permissions - Yosemite, Mavericks, Cougar or Lion

  HD recovery start

  Restart the computer and after the chime hold the Command and R keys until the Menu Utility is displayed.

  Repair

  When the Utility Menu appears, select disk utility, then click on the continue button. Disk utility charges and select layouts withdrawal (usually Macintosh HD) the list entry side.  Click the first aid tab, and then click the repair disk button. If disk utility reports any errors that have been corrected, then again run repair disc until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, click repair permissions . Wait for the process to finish, and then quit disk utility and re-enter the Utility Menu. Select restart from the Apple menu.

  The installation program will run automatically at the end of the download.

• Tried to download the latest version, but my computer does not support. While trying to install it replaced my old version and now have no firefox

  For months its been my firefox browser is out of date, saying tour so, today, I finally managed to update but when trying to install it, it removed my old version and when I tried to install the new one it says it was not compatible. So now I have a version that does not work and if I remove I don't have Firefox at all. I stress because everything (100) my favorites where on the old version.

  I tried and tried to find an older version, but either they are either not compatible or the file does not exist. I'm a bit of a technophobe so I know what else to try.

  Whenever I have stop my laptop just before it stops I get a flash of and some verbiage, but stop too quickly to read. I suspect that something is trying to install. Is it here by far to make a sort of a search to see if there is no apps being installed? Whatever it is, I have probably don't need, everything works fine. Probably even matter, others that it is making me a little nuts. All I've done is repair the disk. I have the MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid 2010). OS El captain. Maybe should have displayed in a hardware box?

  Open the activity monitor in Applications/Utilities.

  On the CPU tab enter 'install' or 'install' in the top search box.

  Do bring up something? If so, select force quit it by clicking the X in the menu bar.

I download the latest version of firefox 33.0.2 and install it. This version was super fast. But becomes slow and unresponsive when I tried to install the Add-ons. I visited the official site of firefox and searching for addons, when I tried to install addons, Firefox crashed. Therefore, it has becomes quite slow and cannot restore previous sessions. Even to type my email address, it takes more than 5 minutes and reacts more frequently (after typing each letter).
  I want to know if this is due to some viruses, or this version of firefox is not "stable".

  To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

  Hello phkirby, please always try to download and install firefox from the official site, do the following:

  1. download a copy of the latest http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html firefox (full installer)

  2. Trash , install the current application of Firefox to do a cleaning.

  3. install the version you downloaded.

  Do not select to delete your personal data, your profile data is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you will not lose your bookmarks or other personal data.

• I really hate this version 23.0 requires me to have the band to tabs. I want to remove it. I tried to install version 22 of the archive, but it did not work.

  I rarely use tabs; When I work, I prefer individual browser windows. For a single window without tabs, tabs band is clutter and space wasted. Previous versions of FF has allowed me to remove the tape to tabs in the options. Now on v.23 I can't. How very, very boring.

  The following may not be the only or most effective way to get the view you want, but that's what I saw recommended so far.

  You can ban the entire tab bar, or when only several tabs are open, by using a setting in the Tab Mix Plus extension.
