I am trying to reinstall vista on another laptop and when I get to the last step (end Installation...) it stops, about 70% of the way through. Now what? I tried to repeat the process about 6 times now!

  I am not literate live windows, the problem is on a computer hp laptop that belongs to my wife. My computer is old desktop with xp. I just do e-mail, word processing and accounting and taxes, etc. Nothing very sophisticated. My experience started with the BACK and readers of diskettes, then on all readers, then for win 3.11, 95 and xp. I don't like vista. I'm waitng for win8 get a new box. Thank you.

If the old hard drive is still installed and running before you change on hard drives and you never received the to purchase recovery discs, you can make the recovery discs from the recovery Partition which should be on the old hard drive.
