I can access the internet in safe mode with networking; then for a short period in normal startup; but then I lose online access.

Windows XP: internet connection

Windows XP: I access to internet in safe mode with networking; then for a short period in normal startup; but then I lose access (IE8, Google, AOL) online. I tried several times, sometimes it seems able to stay online as long as I'm using the installation, but if I take a break, I lose access and return in safe mode.

This question is submitted in safe mode with networking

Hello

    original title: Internet problems

My computer connect to internet wireless whenever I turn on my laptop; However, I still can't access internet. I have to go to safe mode with networking to get internet. What can I do? My Xbox is connected to the internet with no problems at all.

    Hi Aaron,

What antivirus do you use? Since you are able to connect mode without failure, it leads me to believe that this is caused by a program that you run which restricts navigation. Try to disable all antivirus software and try to get online.

Just note that it's always a good idea to always have an antivirus running. But not more than one at a time can cause problems.

    I hope this helps.

  • audio service or no sound when you use the computer in safe mode with network

  • Problem: No icons on desktop, no taskbar, just a black screen with my pointer. I got a response to restart, press F8 to restart the menu, select Safe mode with network, but at this stage of my computer, it is in safe mode, help!

    Ideas:

    • Programs that you have problems with Windows XP
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

    Hello tfortexas

Do you get the login screen before the black screen?    You never even get to the desktop?

Try this fix.  You will need an XP installation CD.  If you don't have that it is OK to borrow one.  Try to get the same version of XP as your example Home/Pro/Media

Configure your PC to boot from the CD if it is not already configured in this way. You may need to enter the BIOS to configure the PC to boot from the CD.

    Set the boot order of

    Floppy (if present)

    CDROM

    Hard drive

    RECORDING and EXIT

Start your PC with the XP installation CD in the drive. When you see the prompt «Press any key to boot from CD...» ", do and start the process to boot on CD.

When the Recovery Console option is available ("press R to start the Recovery Console"), do it. You may be asked to what Windows installation to enter, what kind of cases the number of the Windows installation you want to work (usually ' 1').

When you are prompted, enter the password for the Windows installation. If you have not set up a password just press ENTER

    At the command prompt, type

    FIXMBR

    Come in

    Then type

    Fixboot

    Come in

    Type

    OUTPUT

  • Internet connection only in Mode safe mode with networking

I was using the Internet at home, when I had a pop up telling me there was an anti-virus program download. I pulled out the window pop-up, rebooted the computer and turned on safe mode with network. I thought it was just a problem of virus/malware/spyware. Since I installed several programs to prevent/remove any type of spyware (virus, etc.), I decided to run in safe mode, just in case. I ran the and after he said that my computer was clean, I restarted the computer in normal mode. The internet, however, did more work. He said that the Internet connection was closed portals HTTP, HTTPS and FTP. He also recommended that I check my firewall settings. I use the internet in safe mode with networking, and it works here though.

I'm not really sure what the problem is with the internet settings. I could really use some help!

    Hi AngelicaR,

OK, you should now check your firewall settings, to do so right click my network connection on your desktop-> select Properties (or click Start-> Settings Control Panel-> network connection)

Now right click on your connection to the LAN->-> Advanced->-online advanced, settings, settings-the default settings online-> restore default settings. This will restore the default firewall on your local network connection. Click ok on the screen and restart your pc to see if its working.

If you find the same problem again and then come to the same path: required connection to the local network-> settings-> Advanced-> settings-online Exceprions-> Tickmark the HTTP, HTTPS and FTP, also tickmark "display notification when firewall blocks a program" that will help you the notification to allow access through the firewall. Click ok on the whole screen, restart your pc.

    I hope this helps.

  • Try to use remote desktop to connect to a computer in safe mode with networking

I'm trying to troubleshoot a remotley pc on the network using remote desktop. I can connect properly, however, I want to continue to solve the problems with the pc remote in safe mode. When I choose to restart the pc in safe mode with network remote I am unable to connect to this computer by using remote desktop. Is there a certain config that I need to put in place inside msconfig which will restart in safe mode and I would still like access to connect to this computer by using remote desktop. Thank you.

    Hello

    @hoosier1077

Assuming this isn't a general network problem (such as restarting changes to the local IP address on the remote computer).

    Maybe this can help.

  • I can only connect to the Internet in safe mode

I tried - virus checks, HijackThis, disabling services and startup.  I have three tabs for House (CNN, Yahoo and Gmail).  Gmail connects but I can't access any other sites.  Outlook 2007 connects to the MS Exchange Server.  Everything has been fine for years and then suddenly it happened.  I have excluded router and other connection issues.

    I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T300, under XP SP3.

Here is the HijackThis log.  Nothing jumps, but I'm not an expert.  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all... I use windwos 7 ultimate...
My problem is I can connect to the internet in safe mode, but unfortunately I can't connect to internet in normal mode...

I have try several step to address this problem, but it seems is no good at all, and for your information guys, I format my laptop 4 times.

and I update my network driver.

I use kapersky 7 and malwarebytes even they cannot detect virus or trojan etc which are harmful to my laptop...

    Please help me guys

    Try this:
    -Click Start
-Type the word msconfig in the search box and press enter
-Uncheck the box each tick on the Startup tab.
-Click the Services tab, then check the box hides the Microsoft services.
-Uncheck the box each remaining tick.
    -Reboot the machine.
-If this problem, restore the ticks in groups of 8 until you find the culprit.

ATTENTION: If you connect to the Internet without a router, then you MUST make sure that your Windows Firewall is active. If it is inactive then you will expose the machine to the pirates.

  • At the beginning; After the Windows Logo at the start, the screen goes black and a POWER SAVE MODE comes up. I must stop button. I can run the computer as I am now in Mode safe mode with networking.

When I turn on the computer of gateway, the machine starts and the initial window logo starts and runs for about five seconds.  Then the screen goes black instead of blue and stays black for about 10 seconds.  A 'Power SAVE MODE' appears.  The machine is dead to all orders.  I have to stop by pressing the off button.  I can turn back and the F10 key to get in Mode safe mode with networking.

I tried to reinstall Windows XP original but it would erase my files.  I tried to restore the last good configuration also knowledge.  That did not work.

The change came after a Windsows update.  I have McAfee security and I asked Windows but could not use due ot a conflict. -C' is all this bad start.  Clues?  I use Negear.  No change when I hooked directly either.

Botton line, I can run in SafeMode with networking; but it is slow and I can't make alll I have to do.  What does not load Windows?

  • where can I find the dialog box run in safe mode with networking

I can't run in normal mode, safe mode with networking is the best I can do. When I start in reg mode I get Rainbow lines? How can I fix it?

    Hello

'Rainbow' on your screen lines is a sign of a corrupted graphics driver or graphics hardware fault

If gettting the latest graphics drivers from the manufacturer does not resolve the problem contact the manufacturer of the computer, if under warranty

If it is under warranty, contact a local reputable computer repair store

  • No access to Windows Update in Windows Vista safe mode with network

Since yesterday every time I connect normally to Windows Vista, the programs stop responding at random and nothing works Manager tasks even not so I am forced to close it manually, the only way that I normally use my computer is in safe mode

I googled and someone who has had a similar problem to mine all downloaded updates critical to windows update and that seems to fix the problem

My question is how can I access Windows Update in Safe Mode with network, because when I click on start - Windows Update, nothing happens and I cannot use windows install either.

    Thank you

    Hi Renee,.

Please use the Community Forums for Vista.

Probably not the cause, but enabling it does update race and there is probably a problem there.

Well, let's see. If all your restore points are gone, it's bad. Often, it is a virus.

Here's what we need. Error codes, messages, etc.

If no pop up, go into the event viewer (just type in the search bar) and look in the logs of Windows, Applications, and system folders. Please only after the event. We just need the event id and the application causing him.

Here's what you can do in the meantime.

Run the checker system files and chkdsk.

Get back to us with error messages and follow the directions below.

    Follow these steps.

Type cmd into the search bar and press to enter.

The chkdsk command line type, then press on enter.

If it finds errors, type chkdsk /f to repair.

Once that is complete, insert your windows installation disc in the drive and return to the command prompt. Type sfc/scannow, and then enter.

  • While in safe mode with networking: are still safe or can get us hacked?

Hi guys, I just want to ask this question. I'm just curious about it. Thank you!

Hi guys, I just want to ask this question. I'm just curious about it. Thank you!

Safe mode with network does not mean that it is a way to protect yourself against hackers...

Safe mode with networking is mainly used for Troubleshooting of end and most of your application will not run in this mode...
Networking in safe mode starts Windows with a minimum of drivers and services together as well as it includes the network drivers and services needed to access the Internet or other computers on your network.
Even the recommended security antivirus/internet itself cannot defend yourself, if you're not aware of best practices
