I can't ping the server to the client in the network of the vm.
Hi, I'm new so be nice
I have an advantage of being able to put up with VMworkstation, I have 3 Server 2003 (a file, dns and dhcp server) and Server 2008 (with, I want to be PDC w / AD), I also have 1 XP and win7 1. servers can ping each other, but I can't ping clients? I have disabled the firewall on XP and win7. Before you start to get the installed roles I wanted to ping to make sure that all they communicate. I used an IP 10.10.10.11 for 2003 (10.10.10.9 for dns) ect. I was wondering why I can't ping clients. read the other post, they declare firewall. I don't know that I have disabled the. Note: this is not on a network or on the internet at the moment.
Grrrr, ok I restarted the host and now all of the mpcv displays an X on network connections, help please thank you.
Take a look at the example I posted to Re: need help with Dev virtual network environment that requires a domain controller.

PS: in the example, NAT is default vmnet8.

I guess you get an IP address from the pool and the route is available in the router's routing table. In this case, you will need to tell the NAT router not the intended traffic to the VPN client:

I have 3 servers: server and 2 servers to files in another country.
My main server can only ping the 2nd file server.
But both of our servers in 2 files from another country can ping on the principal server.
In short, I can not away to the first file server.
The settings on both servers of files are the same. And I don't have access to the 2nd file server issues using the main server.
If someone has the patience to help me understand the question?

Can not ping so allow the engine to Base on Windows Server R2 filtering 2012
Hello
My windows platform is Windows Server R2 2012.
My problem is that I can't ping the server during execution of the server BFE.
I had already opened the ICMPv4 and v6 in the inbound rules. I also had to open inbound TCP 3389 port.
I have once again allow all traffic entering the firewall rules.
I tried to ping; error - request time-out
I tried Telnet; No output.
Can I know how to activate the ping while the BFE is running?
Thank you
Kind regards

Cannot get SW1 to the second network of ping and can't get the HQ router to ping SW1.
Hello the forum community. I am new to Cisco Configuration and cannot understand why, in the attached packet tracer file, I can't have my SW! switch to ping to the gi0/1 interface of the branch office router and beyond. I also can't understand why I can ping to the gi0/0 interface on the router in the branch office router HQ, but cannot ping the switch SW1 and beyond.
Ideally, I'm trying to configure the network so that PC1 can ping 172.16.1.100, which is a loopback on router HQ. I ping the closure of the branch office router, but not the switch SW1. I cannot ping the gi0/1 interface on the router of the branch of the SW1 switch and do not understand why. I can also ping the gi0/0 interface on the router in the branch office router HQ, but cannot ping the switch SW1 of the HQ router.
PC1 - 10.1.1.100 255.255.255.0
SW1 - VLAN 1 - 10.1.1.11
Branch gi0/0 - 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.0, gi0/1 - dhcp assigned as 209.165.201.1 255.255.255.224, dynamic NAT activated with access-list 1 (permit 10.1.1.0 0.0.0.255), the pool name is NAT_POOL with the address range of 209.165.201.5 - 10 255.255.255.224 as NAT address range. I can see it working with debug ip nat active when I ping the router address 10.1.1.1 HQ, although I have test the ping without NAT and it is always successful. Gi0/0 inside the nat, g0/1 outside the NAT.
HQ gi0/0 - 209.165.201.2 255.255.255.224, dhcp server enabled to provide an address for the router in branch gi0/1. I had to add a static ip route 10.1.1.0 0.0.0.255 209.165.201.1 in order to be able to get the ping to the router HQ to branch router gi0/0 to work. Don't know if there is a better way to do it, but it's the only way I could make it work so far.
You will need to rename the .txt file, attached to. pkt.
Thanks for any help!

I have a XPS 12 with an Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 wireless card. I can't ping the default gateway with the wireless card. When I use a USB network adapter, I can ping the default gateway for the wired connection. I can connect to the Internet and the internal network with the wireless card and can ping other computers on the network. I am trying to run a program to connect wireless to a projector. I have two different programs for the two different projectors. I can connect by cable but not wireless. I think that the problem is anything that does not make me a ping of the default gateway or something on the wireless card. I have a 10 latitude with a Broadcom wireless card that is connected to the same access point and can ping the default gateway and can connect wirelessly to two projectors. They all have two windows 8 Pro.
I downloaded the new drivers from Dell, uninstalled, reinstalled, tried to update Windows install the drivers, all with no success. Any ideas?
The solution of the problem by chance. I was connected to the computer with a different network than what has been used to authenticate user account on the wireless. When I switched the user account for the user account that was logged on to the computer was the same who authenticate to the wireless, it worked. Go figure!

VM on NW even can't see the other
Hello
We currently have a NW 4 PC. One is a windows 2003 domain controller that also acts as a DHCP server.
2 PC are under windows 2003 with VMware server, run a virtual machine containing a particular set of software. Virtual machine use bridged NW and have an assigned IP address of the domain controller is registered on the domain. The firewall has been disabled on all machines (the NW is private with no Internet connection).
the address of the host PC1 i.e. = 10.0.0.30 (Windows XP)
PC1 VM address = 10.0.0.40 (Windows 2003 server)
PC2 = 10.0.0.50 host address (Windows 2003 server)
Address of VM PC2 = 10.0.0.60 (Windows 2003 server)
The domain controller, host, all machines in the NW (physics and VM) machines can be crazy, and have a response time, which makes sense, given that they are all connected to the same switch.
However, the virtual machine on PC1 can not ping the VM on PC2 and vice versa. Also, using windows Explorer NW that it is not possible to browse the files shared on of VM1 VM2.
Is there a framework and limits that I missed in what concerns the multihost and VM from the NW?
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Apart from the need to give the Windows OS cloned a new identity (SID, etc.) check files .vmx of guests of the duplicate MAC addresses.
You can also use "ipconfig/all" in the prompt.

Site to site VPN tunnel - cannot ping the second interface of the firewall peer inside2
I have two ASA 5505 firewall each with a basic license: FWa and FWb. currently there is a VPN tunnel between them work. I added a second (inside2) interface to the firewall, FWb, but I can't ping firewall FWa, so that I can ping the inside interface of FWa.
I can ping the FWb inside interface 192.168.20.1 from the FWa inside 172.16.1.1 interface, but I can not ping to the 10.52.100.10 of the FWa FWb inside2 interface. I can not ping the gateway host FWa 10.52.100.1.
I show the essential configuration of two firewalls as well as the debug icmp output on the two firewalls that I ping the internal interfaces and of FWa FWb inside2.

Hi odelaporte2,
Is very probably the "access management" command is not applied in the second inside, only inside primary (see the race management) which will confirm.
This command can be applied to an interface at a time, for example, if the law is now applied to the inside, it can not be applied to the inside2 at the same time.

VPN Site-to-Site - cannot ping the router's internal IP address
Hi guys,.
I configured a VPN site-to site between two routers, everything works well except ping the internal (LAN) IP of a router.
Everything works fine: ping the hosts through the tunnel in both feel.
Routers that I use:
-IOS 1841: M3 15.0 (1)
-2811 IOS: 15.0 (1) M5-> here is the problem. I can't ping the inside interface of the router.
I checked its ipsec counters and it seems that it does not send packets through the tunnel when I ping from the LAN interface.
#pkts program is not incrementing.
Anyone had this problem before?
Thank you very much.
Best regards
I think that happens because when the router responds to icmp request he gets is outside interface IP (not the IP Address of the inside interface, wich you are trying to ping) as the source of a package. If icmp-response does not go in the tunnel, because the IP address in the router's external interface is not included in the crypto-acl.
Solution to this, if it's correct guess, is to add the router's external IP to the crypto-acl.

ESX host cannot ping the default gateway.
Hi Experts,
I have connected ESX hosts to switch cisco as well by the ILO and other ports.
Cisco switch configuration;
int gig 1/0/21 and 1/0/13 gig and gig 1/0/14 are configured as access ports because they are carriers/tagging vLan as a 306.
Cisco switch, I can ping the ip address of the ILO, but I can't ping the IP address management and vice versa.
IP Managment
10.197.204.10
255.255.255.0
10.197.204.1
VLAN 306
Attached the screenshot shown in the diagram.
your help will be appreciated.
Concerning
Don't know what it is, but there must be something simple that you miss
Let's go through each step of configuration for both ESXi network connections (ILO work already, so we do not touch).
Check the configuration of switch port physical interface GigabitEthernet1/0/13 and 1/0/14.
switchport access vlan 306
switchport mode access
spanning tree portfast
Only connect the cable network for vmnic0 to host and make sure what vmnic0 presents itself as 'connected' in the DCUI
Make sure the VLAN ID is empty.
Make sure you then the IP settings are correct (IE without typos,...) and restart the management network from the main menu.

VMs that newly set up cannot ping the host
A few days ago vSphere VMs worked well on nested host A that was vSphere, too. Then, install a vDS and place all hosts. He because of problem that guests could not ping each other. But, other virtual machines (I mean windows OS above) can always ping the host. So, moved the hosts of the vDS and removed the vDS, the problem is there. And implemented a few new virtual machines, what operating system are vSphere, too on the nested host a. They can only ping itself, but cannot ping on nested host A, too. Then, remove the data center and set up a new. the probel is still here.
The problem should be soon after vDS, how can I solve this problem?
the configuration of these new virtual machines are inpicture.
my thought here, you forgot to activate rear promicious (security) on vSwitch0 & 1 after the migration, both of vNDS

IPv6 can not ping 2nd service console
I configured a new vswitch with a service console and a vmkernel to use IPv6 and IPv4.
I can ping to the service console and vmkernel IPv4 address. But I can only ping the service console IPv4 address.
Why something like that happens? I checked to see if it was a duplicate address, and he wasn't.
Thank you
Is it using vSphere4? There is no requirement for the ports of service console to use iSCSI, now.
Can you provide the output of esxcfg-vswitch - and esxcfg-vmknic - l that I can see what looks like your network config?
In addition, you will be able to ping the ESX storage use the command vmkping?
If you are able to ping both directions, getting newspapers in storage and the ESX host around time of discovery would be the next piece of useful information.
Thank you

I have a laptop HP with XP pro. I have a network with 2 computers laptops (Dell and HP), 1 office and 1 DP300U DLINK print server with a static IP address. I use a LINKSYS WRT110 router. Everything is connected through this router. I can ping ALL laptops, the office and the print server. I can access internet from all laptops and office. All THE MACHINES are in the same workgroup. Only from my DESKTOP (XP HOME), I can click on FAVORITES NETWORK, click VIEW group of WORK COMPUTERS and I can see the other compters and the print server. However, since my computer Dell laptop or HP LAPTOP (XP PRO) I can PING the router and the journal in it, all the other machines and print server but can NOT SEE THE OTHER COMPUTERS or ACCESS THE PORTABLE HP computer or the other laptop. I turned off all firewalls and firewall McAfee (PORTABLE HP computer) and still no joy. I think that there is a box ticked somewhere or the one that is checked and who should not, but I can't find out where it is or something else to look at. Any ideas would be appreciated.
