Why don't you talk and you have a Comcast modem?  You can't receive faxes unless your machine is connected to a regular telephone line.  It was always connected?  It is always connected?

Normally, the 4500 JO receives the fax.  If you want to receive the fax directly to the computer, you must configure the fax HP special PC software accessed via the "HP Solution Center" application which should be installed when you installed your printer.  Did you do then?

Assuming that your OfficeJet 4500 is connected to a phone line, if it meets a fax call is a function of the JO 4500 and not Windows.  You may have disabled the function address.  It is also accessible via the HP Solution Center, you can also set up automatically to the control panel of the printer.  See your user's guide.

  • I upgraded my card mother cpu ram and hard drive. I reinstalled windows xp home edition has got all of the updates. After 9 latest updates download and installtion went well, I restarted the computer, I get a blue screen and the computer restarts

I upgraded my card mother cpu ram and hard drive. I reinstalled windows xp home edition has got all of the updates. After 9 latest updates download and installtion was going well until I rebooted the computer and go to page window showing all the icons that I get a blue screen and the computer restarts its self and does not stop. How can this be corrected?

    Hi KevinRy,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

    Unplug all external devices.

Try to start in safe mode. If you can start in safe mode, and then do a system restore to restore the computer to an earlier point in time.

Change the recovery settings to disable automatic reboot, if you are able to boot up to the desktop computer:

    1.

Right-click my computerand then click Properties.

    2.

    Click the Advanced tab.

    3.

Under Startup and recovery, click settings to open the Startup and recovery dialog box.

    4.

Clear the automatically restart check box, and then click OK many times necessary.

    5.

Restart your computer so that the settings take effect.

Now, when you are going to close and a fatal error occurs, you will see at least and it won't cause an automatic restart.

Please reply back with the error message you get because it helps us to resolve the error.

    Kind regards

  • I have a Windows XP Home Edition, which does not list if it's 32-bit or 64-bit

I have an OEM Windows XP Home Edition, which does not list if it's 32-bit or 64-bit. How do I know what

To check if your XP operating system is 64-bit, you only have to right click on "My computer" and select 'Properties' to display 'system properties '.   If your XP operating system is XP Professional 64-bit, 64-bit will be indicated in the information displayed in the general tab.  However, XP 32 bit operating systems won't have 32-bit, there is no information about this particular point at all.  The XP Home Edition will be 32-bit, but this information does not appear.  XP Professional, however, can be either 32-bit or 64-bit.  If it is 64-bit, it will be indicated on the general tab of the system properties. However, if it is XP Professional 32-bit, nothing is there to indicate that the operating system is 32-bit.

Vista and Windows 7, unlike XP, OS will indicate if they are 32-bit or 64-bit.

  • Have PC, hard drive, is gone wrong, need to reload Windows XP Home edition, have CD, but have the product key on PC that he had instructed. Is there a way I can download it again?

I have a PC Emachine that I bought with Windows XP Home Edition loaded on it, hard drive went bad and had to be replaced, I don't have a CD to reload my Windows, still have the product key sticker on the PC to save it. Is there a way I can download it? I have XP Pro on another PC, thought I could load and use the product key for my original PC, but who doesn't. Any ideas on what I can do

Borrow an OEM Windows CD (it must be OEM) and install it using your product key. (You can make a copy of it for your future use - this isn't the CD you pay because it's the product key). A generic OEM CD maybe not some or all the drivers you need you would be safe to download from the website of the provider first.

  • Old license Windows XP Home Edition (HP) is not valid

    Hi guys,.

I recently had to format & reinstall the pc of my father, who has a sticker of xp of windows with the license on this subject.

The sticker says "Windows XP Home Edition HP", but when I try to install WinXP with this license, he said that the license is not valid.

I used the WinXP it SP3 CD, because I can't find the original CD of Windows XP without Service Pack anywhere,.

is this the problem or can I use an old XP license it to install XP SP3 it?

If this isn't the problem, could someone help me know what is the problem?

    Thanks in advance,

    Dave

What is the make and model of this PC?

It is important that the media matches the license. So, if the license is an OEM version of XP Home, only an OEM XP Home CD work. A XP Home retail CD are bad media.

Assuming that you have the correct CD, make sure you enter all characters correctly. Make sure that you enter not an 8 for a and B, for example.

  • Have a Dell PC with Windows XP Home Edition with restoration, internet and the program of the questions that I went into the details in the body of the present.

I have a Dell with Windows XP Home Edition system that uses the internet connection. Friday, he had a problem with images in line being "pixel-ed", which means that the image was blurred and boxes. So I did a restore of the system back as much as she would in July and concluded that the IAF has a program called accelerator that had been implemented to go faster, but eventually would make very good images. Then, I got that part fixed but now a game that I play "Mahjongg" won't play right and when I go to the area "help and support" to try to reschedule, so it don't open even now. Can someone help me please? Thank you

Thanks for the help. I returned and reinstalled everything, even if it was already installed and now everything works.

  • Cannot install Service Pack 2 using Windows Vista Home Edition or anything else on the internet.

    Hello

I tried to download and install Service Pack 2 using Windows Vista Home Edition, or anything like that on the internet without success. According to me, the key word is internet or a block of Vista from the internet to install anything. Many people here get the same error 80070005 for SP2 as I am, but I think that the problem is with Vista, how the system allows any installs or blocks installed from the internet. I suppose that some are able to go through the download process, but installation is where it does not pass through. There are moments where it seems that the installation of SP2 works, but it will fail eventually. Other times what ever happens to the installation process. The same goes for all other downloads and installs from the internet. I am able to install a program that already exists on the computer, so I know that installs works just not the Internet. Do not send me a link to install because it probably won't last through. I may be able to download but installation will not pass by so that the program will not work. I used the words installation and internet a lot for some reason please take account, when responding.

    Thank you
