I can't send an attachment in Windows Mail.

I'm unable to send excel attachment in Windows Mail.  I can receive and transfer of attachment, but I can't send with attachment.  Everytime I try I get a message saing the connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable.  Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action.  I do not use Outlook for my email.  I use Windows Mail come with Vista.  I also have a Microsft Exchange Server message says once the names have been checked and are underlined, click OK.  Then I get another message "failure of the mail system.  Check your mail installation.  I recently updated my memory, and at the point where I had to change the motherboard.  Since then, I have all sorts of problems.  Please help me.

Check if windows mail is the default messaging program...

As long as what you say... outlook became the default e-mail program.

You need to mark the option leave a copy of messages on the server in WinMail until you do a send/receive. The only way to get them back to your Webmail RR account now to send to yourself. Of course, this will change all the headers.

Windows Vista - make Windows Live Mail Windows default e-mail program                          (left click this link)

Maybe you could open a new e-mail message and then attach a photo...
Just left click the button attach, and then search for the photo.

How can I send and file by e-mail to an e-mail recipient?

You use Windows Mail? Create a folder on the desktop. Open the folder in WinMail and highlight all the message headers (Ctrl + A), and then drag them to the folder on the desktop. This ZIP file and attach it to an e-mail.

Take note of the size of the zipped folder.

  • Why, when I send an email using windows mail (RoadRunner ISP) sometimes it does not transmit the image that are in the original.

Why, when I send an email using windows mail (RoadRunner ISP) sometimes it does not transmit the image that are in the original.

Some messages are not complying with the standards of the Internet and the images do not show before their delivery.  You can overcome this by transmitting the message as an attachment instead, and then the images will be intact.

  • I can't paste clip art into windows mail. (copied from word document - using IE8) How can I fix?

I can't paste clip art into windows mail. (do not give me the option.)   I copied the clipart in Word document.  I use IE8, IE9, but unnstalled have in the hope of resolving the problem.   Thank you, Pam

You cannot copy and paste images (especially the cliparts) of the word.  You need to refer to a disk image.  So use Insert | Picture to insert the image.  The image must also be a format that IE can display, as it is used to show messages in WinMail.

IE9 is not a problem for that. See here for IE9 questions: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#15

  • Can I send an attachment fame?

I often send an attachment to others where I understand the name of the file, but to make it useful for the person on the other end, there should be a more descriptive title. Often, it is because the file is in a folder that contains these descriptors. An example might be: Dave/project A / Outline.doc - if I send this file 'English.doc' and the person registers the disk without organization or change the name, they more later may not be able to correlate with me or with A project. If I could, I would leave the file named because it is on my computer, but if attaching, I give it another name, like "Dave project A.doc sketch"... This way I'm not changing the file on my computer, but the person who receives it is found a file that actually describes what is in the attachment. And they always have the possibility of organizing in a suitable folder or rename it as they wish. There is an add-on that can do this? If not, it is a feasible project Add on? I don't have the programming chops to create a such add-on, but maybe someone out there does.

If you right click on an attachment in the attachment of the compose window pane, you can select Rename in the menu.
