  This error is often associated with folders created by the user. I seem to remember that a user facing this error discovered that he had reached the upper limit on the number of files.   under the servers tab:
  Mail incoming (POP3)... pop.att.yahoo.com
  Outgoing (SMTP) e-mail... smtp.att.yahoo.com
  "My server requires authentication" should be checked.

  on the Advanced tab:
  Outgoing (SMTP) mail... 465 not 25
  Incoming (POP3) mail... 995
  BOTH "this server requires a secure connection (SSL)" should be checked.
