I am new to Windows 7, 64-bit OS and making the disk cleanup program. There are 2 unfamiliar topics with boxes to check what are the "Debug Dump Files" and "system error memory dump files. I'm naïve as to what are these files and whether they contain all files that possibly should not be deleted. Can anyone say and find out about what are the debug files and system error Memory Dump and if; Should I or not the check their boxes to get rid of all these files in particular type box? Or could there be some Debug files & system error Memory Dump that might be of some importance and should not be deleted?
Thank you for your time and any comments on this would be greatly appreciated. Have a nice weekend.

One good thing about Windows Disk Clean up is, only offer files delete them it is safe and will not harm your PC. Files of system errors and debugging dump files are created when there is an error in your system, and it creates a dump file that could be used for analyses. That say if you encounter blue screen error, dump file will create and if you find analysis you of cause of this problem. Whether or not you want to remove, you, some people will delete it only while others will keep the Explorer themselves later. But more importantly, it is wise to report them to Microsoft before deleting.
To do this, open Control Panel and click under Maintenance contract and Action Center, click Check for solutions then it will collect all the information related to the errors and dump files and he could ask permission to send them and if you great permission, they will be sent. Once it was successful you can delete them.
Sending the Microsoft dump files is a good idea, because there are teams who revisit and they try to find the cause and resolve it through Windows Update, or inform you about the possible solution in the center of the Action.

where can I find a disk cleanup program?
I was told by someone who teaches computer science at the University to perform a disk cleanup every month. Where can I find such a program? Thank you.
Free space - increase the hard disk space
The following procedure cleans the files associated with your user account. You can also use Disk Cleanup to clean all the files on your computer.
1. click the button start, in the search box, type disk cleanup, then click Disk Cleanup.
2. in the drives list, click the drive you want to clean, and then click OK.
3. on the Disk Cleanup tab, select the types of files to delete.
Note: To delete all Points except the most recent system restore - click on "Clean up System Files" and you will get another tab called more than Options. Now click More Options, and then click 'Clean up' under ' System Restore and shadow copies "and then confirm the deletion.
4. click OK at the bottom of the window cleaning disc and in the message that appears, click on delete files.

Files dump debugging and log files to install in the disk cleanup window
The two points above appear in my disk cleanup window, and I wonder if it is o: k to remove. The first occupies a space of 283 KB and the other 2537 KB. The description of these two files in the disk cleanup window is "files created by Windows.
I have a second question: I have about 5 GB left as free space on my hard drive of 'C '. If this is considered sufficient, or should I get more? I am a senior retired and only use the computer for basic items.
I have a computer Dell Dimension 4100 with Service Pack 3 for Windows XP - Home Edition Operating System - desktop, 111 Pentium with 930 MHZ, 20 GB hard drive and 512 MB RAM. The file system is FAT 32.
Thank you very much for your cooperation and your response.
"Debug dump files" are copies of the contents of your computer's memory.
When a program crashes, it will sometimes "dump" all or part of the
contents of the RAM to a file on your hard drive. The file is useful to
a technical support person who tries to understand why the program
crashed. (Most of the tech support people have no idea what to do with a dump
file.)Unless you have been asked to submit a dump for inspection file, feel free

My computer is as I said above a desk with the microsoft XP program and is a little less than five years. It has been slow and it dawned on me that I hadn't used the disk cleanup or some defrag for a while, but I clicked on start, all programs, accessories, System Tools was is no longer. I have not been able to access the disk cleanup or defragment option and hope that out there, can someone advise me how to get this feature.
You can run Disk Cleanup and Defragmenter disk since the start > run box by typing the following
Cleanmgr
Dfrg.mscYou can restore all of the 'Accessories' group (including system tools) by following the directions here--> http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Accessories.htm
Or you could just create shortcuts to
C:\Windows\system32\dfrg.msc
and
%SystemRoot%\System32\cleanmgr.exeNote that % SystemRoot % is the directory where Windows. You can use this form or explicit as in the example for the shortcut from the Defrag.

Disk Cleanup program will not work.
I'm having a problem with the program of 'disk cleanup '. Every time I open it and try to run the program, in a first step a box appears which prompts me to choose which drive to clean up. But before that I can click on a choice, another box appears stating that there is a problem with the program, and he asked me to close the program. At the same time that box dialog in the box says to close the program, it gives me two options-1. close the program or 2. debugging of the program. If I choose #2, another box appears instantly with only one option to choose from and it's closing the program. What should I do? How important is this "Disk Cleanup" for proper computer maintenance? I always thought that the "Disk Cleanup" and "Disk Defragmenter" programs were vital. Moreover, the "Disk Defragmenter" program works well as a scheduled maintenance task.
What operating system do you use? XP OR Vista?
I don't know a thing about XP, but Vista, when you run Disk Cleanup, you do NOT have asked to choose which lead to cleaning. You will be asked to choose one of the 2:
My files only
Files from all users on this computer

I accidentally deleted the directory "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Microsoft ' my 64 bit Windows Vista system. How can I get it back?
original title: C:\Program Files (x 86) \MicrosoftYou can try this program:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_recuva/
Use the deep Scan option. It may take some time.
The System File Checker can repair some of the files in there, but probably not all.
It's probably at least some of the files that have been overwritten. so I would say the the more safe thing to do is to reinstall Windows.

Hello
The update option in the settings of PC mentions that you can save your personal files, it does not mention programs and applications.
The first screen you see when you select the refresh option is as follows.
You will need to reinstall all of the programs deleted.

The disk cleanup hard disk, property Page is missing
My button of disk cleanup on the property Page of all the hard disks on the general tab is missing for centuries. Short of a reinstallation of Vista Ultimate x 86, we might want to know how can I get it back?
Disk Cleanup works through other options available for the throw, but I miss my button, everyone has seen?
I still have my representable pattern pink and blue used and free space on the drive, just no button.
To the wire when I tried most of the troubleshooting steps based including SFC/scannow, ChkDsk, Msconfig, Safe Mode, different users and a few others, I probably forgot to mention, and does not. There is a lack of information on the various web sites that I visited on this small inconvenience.
Hi Linney
Try this.
Right-click on the Recycle Bin on the desktop and select Properties.
If you do not have the Recycle Bin on the desktop, open Windows Explorer and look for him at the bottom of the Navigation pane.
Recycle bin properties, make sure that the drive letter of the System Volume is selected. (Usually c :))
If you have the 'c. do not move files to the Recycle Bin Option to remove files when they are immediately deleted"selected, and then select the other option. Click apply/OK.Check the results on the properties of drive of the volume.
I hope this helps.

Compress files old option in the disk cleanup tool does not seem to do anything
original title: compress old filesHow to compress old files? When I run Disk Cleanup, the compress old files is checked, but the cleaning does not remove the 13, 464KO here. How can I get rid of this?
Hello
http://www.ehow.com/facts_6010913_can-old-files-disk-cleanup_.html
Compress old files
This option, which is the only option that does not remove the files, compresses the files on the operating system that have not been consulted after a certain period of time. The files are not deleted, but simply compressed into a smaller size since they are not used and are accessible by the operating system if they are needed once more.

I have a problem with my local pc d drive is full how can I accelerated her?
You can do a disk cleanup to recover disk space. Open the computer and right click on disk Local (c) click on properties, click on disk cleanup, you can remove anything on this list by putting a check in the box and clicking OK. They will be re-created when you use your computer. You can find even more disk space by choosing the Options tab programs, do uninstall not all Windows programs, but you can uninstall programs, you add from CD or downloaded from the internet. You will take more space by doing a Clean up with system restore. Single cleaning to restore the system if your computer works well.
